Book Concepts of Occlusion in Implants

  • Author : Barjinder Singh
  • Publisher : LAP Lambert Academic Publishing
  • Release : 2012-04
  • ISBN : 9783848486960
  • Pages : 140 pages

Download or read book Concepts of Occlusion in Implants written by Barjinder Singh and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012-04 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Occlusion is an imperial factor in success of restoration, as the design of the restoration can utilize occlusal forces constructively. The occlusal forces in implant dentistry includes the transosteal forces, bone biomechanics, basic biomechanics, differences in natural teeth and implants, muscles of mastication and occlusal forces and bone resorption. In addition systematic individual treatment plans and precise surgical prosthodontic procedures based on biomechanical principles are pre requisite for optimal implant occlusion.

Book Occlusion for Dental Implant Prosthesis

Download or read book Occlusion for Dental Implant Prosthesis written by Nitai Debnath and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2014-01 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Occlusion is one of the critical factors for long term success of dental implant. The lack of proprioceptive receptor in osseo-intergrated implants, is one of the major reasons for over loading and subsequent crestal bone loss. A proper occlusal scheme can eliminate the tensional and shear stresses developed at the implant bone interface under masticatory load and can lengthen the longevity of the implant prosthesis. However the immediate and early loading of dental implant helps to develop a strong implant bone interface with mature laminar type of bone. This book is a conscious effort made to enhance the knowledge of occlusion in dental implants.

Book Occlusal Considerations For Implant Supported Prosthesis

Download or read book Occlusal Considerations For Implant Supported Prosthesis written by and published by Sankalp Publication. This book was released on 2021-03-27 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The clinical success and longevity of endosteal dental implants as load-bearing abutments are controlled largely by the mechanical setting in which they function. The treatment plan is responsible for the design, number and position of the implants. After achievement of rigid fixation, proper crestal bone contour, gingival health, mechanical stress, and/or strain beyond the physical limits of hard tissues have been suggested as the primary cause of initial bone loss around implants. After successful surgical and prosthetic rehabilitation with a passive prosthesis, such noxious stresses and loads applied to the implant and surrounding tissues result primarily from occlusal contacts. Complications (prosthetic and/or bony support) reported in follow-up studies underline occlusion as a determining factor for success or failure.

Book Occlusion in Implant Dentistry

Download or read book Occlusion in Implant Dentistry written by Ankita Singh and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2013 with total page 84 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Successful completion of restorative implant prosthodontics is dependent on the effective implementation of occlusal principles. Occlusion is critical for implant longevity because of nature of attachment of bone to the surface of implant. The ability of bone implant interface to withstand specific ranges of occlusal stress especially during initial loading with the prosthesis is not completely understood. This book emphasizes on the concepts and considerations that should be followed with great precision to achieve successful occlusion in implant dentistry.
