Book Injury and Health Risk Management in Sports

Download or read book Injury and Health Risk Management in Sports written by Werner Krutsch and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-04-21 with total page 747 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a comprehensive source of information and guidance on health risk management and medical care across the entire range of sports, in athletes of all ages and ability. General health aspects, injury prevention, first aid and emergency management, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and return to play are all addressed, with presentation of practical recommendations throughout. All medical disciplines with relevance for athletes - from psychological aspects to dermatological issues - are as well as main pathologies, overuse injuries and indications for surgical treatment of all certain parts of the musculoskeletal system, covered. Key features include a clear structure, short chapters in protocol format, and the inclusion of helpful checklists and tips and tricks for a quick and in-depth overview. Detailed attention is paid both to the medical care, specific to injuries of different parts of the body, and to special considerations relating to individual sports. Among the sport disciplines team sports, athletics, winter sports, track and field, martial arts, motor sports and cycling, extreme sports, swimming and water sports, racket sports, other IOC sports, and Paralympic sports are covered. Due to raising population of certain modern non-IOC sports, e.g. E-Sports, beach sports, flying sports and canyoning, and paltry medical information in this disciplines we put a focus on them. The book is a collaborative work from the newly created ESSKA section European Sports Medicine Associates (ESMA), which brings together the various disciplines of sports medicine. It will be an ideal resource and decision-making tool for doctors, athletes, coaches, and physiotherapists.

Book Occlusion dentaire et performances sportives

Download or read book Occlusion dentaire et performances sportives written by Maxime Vendola and published by . This book was released on 2021 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Occlusion dentaire et performance sportive written by Gaëlle Habrard and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2017 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: OBJECTIVES: Many authors previously studied correlations between dental occlusion and postural stability in general and sportive populations. However no data are currently available regarding rowing. The present study aimed to assess the influence of dental occlusion on body posture and competitive performances of young elite rowers. METHOD: Dental occlusion disturbance devices were used to simulate dental malocclusions. We assessed the influence of malocclusion on body balance, symmetry of paravertebral muscles contraction, and muscular power of young elite rowers. A force platform and a machine Dyno Concept 2 were used as measuring instruments. RESULTS: A total of 7 members of the "Pôle France Aviron" (age range of 15-17 years) were enrolled in the study. None of the body balance parameters was significantly influenced by artificial occlusal disturbance. The interposition of occlusal silicone splint significantly increased the proportion of athletes presenting asymmetric muscular contraction from 14.3% to 85.7% (p 0.025), and induced a significant 17.7% decrease of the athlete's muscular power (p 0.030). CONCLUSIONS: This study showed negative impacts of occlusal disturbance on the athletic performances of young elite rowers. The detection of malocclusion traits by regular occlusal monitoring would be of greatest interest in this population.

Download or read book Occlusion et performance dans les sports de force written by Audrey Locci and published by . This book was released on 2020 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book L occlusion dentaire chez le sportif de haut niveau written by Stéphanie Suaudeau and published by . This book was released on 2003 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book L occlusion dentaire chez les footballeurs professionnels written by Brendan Defrel and published by . This book was released on 2019 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Odonto physiologie dans l exercice sportif written by Julien Brothier and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2017 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book The 71F Advantage written by National Defense University Press and published by NDU Press. This book was released on 2010-09 with total page 529 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Includes a foreword by Major General David A. Rubenstein. From the editor: "71F, or "71 Foxtrot," is the AOC (area of concentration) code assigned by the U.S. Army to the specialty of Research Psychology. Qualifying as an Army research psychologist requires, first of all, a Ph.D. from a research (not clinical) intensive graduate psychology program. Due to their advanced education, research psychologists receive a direct commission as Army officers in the Medical Service Corps at the rank of captain. In terms of numbers, the 71F AOC is a small one, with only 25 to 30 officers serving in any given year. However, the 71F impact is much bigger than this small cadre suggests. Army research psychologists apply their extensive training and expertise in the science of psychology and social behavior toward understanding, preserving, and enhancing the health, well being, morale, and performance of Soldiers and military families. As is clear throughout the pages of this book, they do this in many ways and in many areas, but always with a scientific approach. This is the 71F advantage: applying the science of psychology to understand the human dimension, and developing programs, policies, and products to benefit the person in military operations. This book grew out of the April 2008 biennial conference of U.S. Army Research Psychologists, held in Bethesda, Maryland. This meeting was to be my last as Consultant to the Surgeon General for Research Psychology, and I thought it would be a good idea to publish proceedings, which had not been done before. As Consultant, I'd often wished for such a document to help explain to people what it is that Army Research Psychologists "do for a living." In addition to our core group of 71Fs, at the Bethesda 2008 meeting we had several brand-new members, and a number of distinguished retirees, the "grey-beards" of the 71F clan. Together with longtime 71F colleagues Ross Pastel and Mark Vaitkus, I also saw an unusual opportunity to capture some of the history of the Army Research Psychology specialty while providing a representative sample of current 71F research and activities. It seemed to us especially important to do this at a time when the operational demands on the Army and the total force were reaching unprecedented levels, with no sign of easing, and with the Army in turn relying more heavily on research psychology to inform its programs for protecting the health, well being, and performance of Soldiers and their families."
