Circumspect magistrates seldom record, at the time, the reasons upon which they found their decrees, because many decisions have been acknowledged perfectly correct, while the principles they were deduced from appeared erroneous. Would that military magistrates, too, for the honour of the profession, had followed their wife example! It was during the two last wars this influenza became epidemical.
