The mass and natural width of the structure are measured to be 4143.0 ± 2.9(stat) ± 1.2(syst) MeV/c2 and 11.7{sub -5.0}{sup +8.3}(stat) ± 3.7(syst) MeV/c2.

Book excerpt: A peaking structure in the J/psi phi mass spectrum near threshold is observed in B(+/- ) to J/psi phi K(+/- ) decays, produced in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV collected with the CMS detector at the LHC. The data sample, selected on the basis of the dimuon decay mode of the J/psi, corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 5.2 inverse femtobarns. Fitting the structure to an S-wave relativistic Breit-Wigner lineshape above a three-body phase-space nonresonant component gives a signal statistical significance exceeding five standard deviations. The fitted mass and width values are m = 4148.0 +- 2.4 (stat.) +- 6.3 (syst.) MeV and Gamma = 28 +15 -11 (stat.) +- 19 (syst.) MeV, respectively. Evidence for an additional peaking structure at higher J/psi phi mass is also reported.

Book excerpt: We observe a narrow enhancement near 2m[sub p] in the invariant mass spectrum of p[bar p] pairs from radiative J/[psi][yields][gamma]p[bar p] decays. No similar structure is seen in J/[psi][yields][pi][sup 0] p[bar p] decays. The results are based on an analysis of a 58 million event sample of J/[psi] decays accumulated with the BESII detector at the Beijing electron-positron collider. The enhancement can be fit with either an S- or P-wave Breit Wigner resonance function. In the case of the S-wave fit, the peak mass is below 2m[sup p] at M= 1859[sub -10][sup+3] (stat)[sub -25][sup+5] (sys) MeV/c[sup 2] and the total width is[Lambda]

Book excerpt: We investigate the nature of the near-threshold enhancement in the p {bar p} invariant mass spectrum of the reaction J/[Psi] → [gamma] p {bar p} reported recently by the BES Collaboration. Using the Juelich N {bar N} model we show that the mass dependence of the p {bar p} spectrum close to the threshold can be reproduced by the S-wave p {bar p} final state interaction in the isospin I=1 state within the Watson-Migdal approach. However, because of our poor knowledge of the N {bar N} interaction near threshold and of the J/[Psi] → [gamma] p {bar p} reaction mechanism and in view of the controversial situation in the decay J/[Psi] → [pi]° p {bar p}, where no obvious signs of a p {bar p} final state interaction are seen, explanations other than final state interactions cannot be ruled out at the present stage.

They observe an accumulation of events near 4.26 GeV/c2 in the invariant-mass spectrum of?+?− J/?. Fits of the mass spectrum indicate that a broad resonance with a mass of about 4.26 GeV/c2 is required to describe the observed structure. The presence of additional narrow resonances cannot be excluded. The fitted width of the broad resonance is 50 to 90 MeV/c2, depending on the fit hypothesis.

This is the first observation of a hadronic state with valence quarks of four different flavors. The mass and natural width of the new state are measured to be $m = 5567.8 \pm 2.9 {\rm \thinspace (stat)} ^{+0.9}_{-1.9} {\rm \thinspace (syst)}$ MeV/$c^2$ and $\Gamma = 21.9 \pm 6.4 {\rm \thinspace (stat)} ^{+5.0}_{-2.5} {\rm \thinspace (syst)} $ MeV/$c^2$, and the significance including look-elsewhere effect and systematic uncertainties is 5.1$\sigma$. The observation is based on$10.4~\rm{fb^{-1}}$ of $p \overline p $ collision data at $\sqrt{s}$ = 1.96 TeV collected by the D0 experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron collider.

The branching fraction of this decay is measured, using the mode $\mathrm{B}^{+}\to \psi(2 \mathrm{S}) \mathrm{ K }^{+}$ as normalization, to be (4.0 $\pm$ 0.4 (stat) $\pm$ 0.6 (syst) $\pm$ 0.2 ($\mathcal{B})$)$\times$ 10$^{-6}$, where the third uncertainty is from the imprecision in the normalization channel.
