Book Rough Multiple Objective Decision Making

Download or read book Rough Multiple Objective Decision Making written by Jiuping Xu and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2011-07-28 with total page 448 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Under intense scrutiny for the last few decades, Multiple Objective Decision Making (MODM) has been useful for dealing with the multiple-criteria decisions and planning problems associated with many important applications in fields including management science, engineering design, and transportation. Rough set theory has also proved to be an effective mathematical tool to counter the vague description of objects in fields such as artificial intelligence, expert systems, civil engineering, medical data analysis, data mining, pattern recognition, and decision theory. Rough Multiple Objective Decision Making is perhaps the first book to combine state-of-the-art application of rough set theory, rough approximation techniques, and MODM. It illustrates traditional techniques—and some that employ simulation-based intelligent algorithms—to solve a wide range of realistic problems. Application of rough theory can remedy two types of uncertainty (randomness and fuzziness) which present significant drawbacks to existing decision-making methods, so the authors illustrate the use of rough sets to approximate the feasible set, and they explore use of rough intervals to demonstrate relative coefficients and parameters involved in bi-level MODM. The book reviews relevant literature and introduces models for both random and fuzzy rough MODM, applying proposed models and algorithms to problem solutions. Given the broad range of uses for decision making, the authors offer background and guidance for rough approximation to real-world problems, with case studies that focus on engineering applications, including construction site layout planning, water resource allocation, and resource-constrained project scheduling. The text presents a general framework of rough MODM, including basic theory, models, and algorithms, as well as a proposed methodological system and discussion of future research.

Download or read book Programming in Objective C written by Stephen G. Kochan and published by Addison-Wesley Professional. This book was released on 2011-06-10 with total page 545 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Programming in Objective-C is a concise, carefully written tutorial on the basics of Objective-C and object-oriented programming for the iOS and Mac platforms. The book makes no assumptions about prior experience with object-oriented programming languages or with the C language (which Objective-C is based upon). Because of this, both beginners and experienced programmers alike can use this book to quickly and effectively learn the fundamentals of Objective-C. Readers can also learn the concepts of object-oriented programming without having to first learn all of the intricacies of the underlying procedural language (C). This unique approach to learning, combined with many small program examples and exercises at the end of each chapter, makes Programming in Objective-C ideally suited for either classroom use or self-study. While the Objective-C language itself has gone through relatively minor changes since the introduction of Objective-C 2.0, the Apple development tools that programmers use for Objective-C development on the Mac and on iOS have changed significantly in a very short period of time. The third edition of Programming in Objective-C includes numerous updates and improvements throughout the book: Improved organization for some chapters Incorporation of feedback and suggestions from members of the author's forum for readers, including more detailed descriptions for some of the examples A new introduction to blocks with examples Replacement of deprecated methods with newer methods Updated diagrams and steps for using Xcode 4

Book Multi Objective Optimization System Designs and Their Applications

Download or read book Multi Objective Optimization System Designs and Their Applications written by Bor-Sen Chen and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2023-12-05 with total page 466 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book introduces multi-objective design methods to solve multi-objective optimization problems (MOPs) of linear/nonlinear dynamic systems under intrinsic random fluctuation and external disturbance. The MOPs of multiple targets for systems are all transformed into equivalent linear matrix inequality (LMI)-constrained MOPs. Corresponding reverse-order LMI-constrained multi-objective evolution algorithms are introduced to solve LMI-constrained MOPs using MATLAB®. All proposed design methods are based on rigorous theoretical results, and their applications are focused on more practical engineering design examples. Features: Discusses multi-objective optimization from an engineer’s perspective Contains the theoretical design methods of multi-objective optimization schemes Includes a wide spectrum of recent research topics in control design, especially for stochastic mean field diffusion problems Covers practical applications in each chapter, like missile guidance design, economic and financial systems, power control tracking, minimization design in communication, and so forth Explores practical multi-objective optimization design examples in control, signal processing, communication, and cyber-financial systems This book is aimed at researchers and graduate students in electrical engineering, control design, and optimization.

Book Evolutionary Large Scale Multi Objective Optimization and Applications

Download or read book Evolutionary Large Scale Multi Objective Optimization and Applications written by Xingyi Zhang and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2024-07-22 with total page 358 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tackle the most challenging problems in science and engineering with these cutting-edge algorithms Multi-objective optimization problems (MOPs) are those in which more than one objective needs to be optimized simultaneously. As a ubiquitous component of research and engineering projects, these problems are notoriously challenging. In recent years, evolutionary algorithms (EAs) have shown significant promise in their ability to solve MOPs, but challenges remain at the level of large-scale multi-objective optimization problems (LSMOPs), where the number of variables increases and the optimized solution is correspondingly harder to reach. Evolutionary Large-Scale Multi-Objective Optimization and Applications constitutes a systematic overview of EAs and their capacity to tackle LSMOPs. It offers an introduction to both the problem class and the algorithms before delving into some of the cutting-edge algorithms which have been specifically adapted to solving LSMOPs. Deeply engaged with specific applications and alert to the latest developments in the field, it’s a must-read for students and researchers facing these famously complex but crucial optimization problems. The book’s readers will also find: Analysis of multi-optimization problems in fields such as machine learning, network science, vehicle routing, and more Discussion of benchmark problems and performance indicators for LSMOPs Presentation of a new taxonomy of algorithms in the field Evolutionary Large-Scale Multi-Objective Optimization and Applications is ideal for advanced students, researchers, and scientists and engineers facing complex optimization problems.
