Book Computation Of Differential Equations And Dynamical Systems

Download or read book Computation Of Differential Equations And Dynamical Systems written by Zhong-ci Shi and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1993-10-25 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Traditional quantum theory has a very rigid structure, making it difficult to accommodate new properties emerging from novel systems. This book presents a flexible and unified theory for physical systems, from micro and macro quantum to classical. This is achieved by incorporating superselection rules and maximal symmetric operators into the theory. The resulting theory is applicable to classical, microscopic quantum and non-orthodox mixed quantum systems of which macroscopic quantum systems are examples. A unified formalism also greatly facilitates the discussion of interactions between these systems. A scheme of quantization by parts is introduced, based on the mathematics of selfadjoint and maximal symmetric extensions of symmetric operators, to describe point interactions. The results are applied to treat superconducting quantum circuits in various configurations. This book also discusses various topics of interest such as the asymptotic treatment of quantum state preparation and quantum measurement, local observables and local values, Schrödinger's cat states in superconducting systems, and a path space formulation of quantum mechanics. This self-contained book is complete with a review of relevant geometric and operator theories, for example, vector fields and operators, symmetric operators and their maximal symmetric extensions, direct integrals of Hilbert spaces and operators./a

Book Numerical Solutions of Three Classes of Nonlinear Parabolic Integro Differential Equations

Download or read book Numerical Solutions of Three Classes of Nonlinear Parabolic Integro Differential Equations written by T Jangveladze and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2015-11-21 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes three classes of nonlinear partial integro-differential equations. These models arise in electromagnetic diffusion processes and heat flow in materials with memory. Mathematical modeling of these processes is briefly described in the first chapter of the book. Investigations of the described equations include theoretical as well as approximation properties. Qualitative and quantitative properties of solutions of initial-boundary value problems are performed therafter. All statements are given with easy understandable proofs. For approximate solution of problems different varieties of numerical methods are investigated. Comparison analyses of those methods are carried out. For theoretical results the corresponding graphical illustrations are included in the book. At the end of each chapter topical bibliographies are provided. - Investigations of the described equations include theoretical as well as approximation properties - Detailed references enable further independent study - Easily understandable proofs describe real-world processes with mathematical rigor

Book Multidimensional Integral Equations and Inequalities

Download or read book Multidimensional Integral Equations and Inequalities written by B.G. Pachpatte and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-07-26 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since from more than a century, the study of various types of integral equations and inequalities has been focus of great attention by many researchers, interested both in theory and its applications. In particular, there exists a very rich literature related to the integral equations and inequalities and their applications. The present monograph is an attempt to organize recent progress related to the Multidimensional integral equations and inequalities, which we hope will widen the scope of their new applications. The field to be covered is extremely wide and it is nearly impossible to treat all of them here. The material included in the monograph is recent and hard to find in other books. It is accessible to any reader with reasonable background in real analysis and acquaintance with its related areas. All results are presented in an elementary way and the book could also serve as a textbook for an advanced graduate course. The book deserves a warm welcome to those who wish to learn the subject and it will also be most valuable as a source of reference in the field. It will be an invaluable reading for mathematicians, physicists and engineers and also for graduate students, scientists and scholars wishing to keep abreast of this important area of research.

Book Finite Element Methods For Integrodifferential Equations

Download or read book Finite Element Methods For Integrodifferential Equations written by Chuan Miao Chen and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1998-02-28 with total page 291 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Recently, there has appeared a new type of evaluating partial differential equations with Volterra integral operators in various practical areas. Such equations possess new physical and mathematical properties. This monograph systematically discusses application of the finite element methods to numerical solution of integrodifferential equations. It will be useful for numerical analysts, mathematicians, physicists and engineers. Advanced undergraduates and graduate students should also find it beneficial.

Book Computational Methods for Linear Integral Equations

Download or read book Computational Methods for Linear Integral Equations written by Prem Kythe and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2011-06-28 with total page 525 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents numerical methods and computational aspects for linear integral equations. Such equations occur in various areas of applied mathematics, physics, and engineering. The material covered in this book, though not exhaustive, offers useful techniques for solving a variety of problems. Historical information cover ing the nineteenth and twentieth centuries is available in fragments in Kantorovich and Krylov (1958), Anselone (1964), Mikhlin (1967), Lonseth (1977), Atkinson (1976), Baker (1978), Kondo (1991), and Brunner (1997). Integral equations are encountered in a variety of applications in many fields including continuum mechanics, potential theory, geophysics, electricity and mag netism, kinetic theory of gases, hereditary phenomena in physics and biology, renewal theory, quantum mechanics, radiation, optimization, optimal control sys tems, communication theory, mathematical economics, population genetics, queue ing theory, and medicine. Most of the boundary value problems involving differ ential equations can be converted into problems in integral equations, but there are certain problems which can be formulated only in terms of integral equations. A computational approach to the solution of integral equations is, therefore, an essential branch of scientific inquiry.
