Los que sobreviven, los que siguen siendo personas capaces y aptas para su trabajo, son los que han sabido seguir aprendiendo continuamente a lo largo de su vida. A pesar de la importancia de lo que significa aprender, no hay una definición generalmente aceptada del concepto. Jesús Beltrán Llera (2013) en su artículo «La educación como cambio» publicado en la Revista Española de Pedagogía afirmaba que el aprendizaje «es un cambio más o menos permanente de la conducta que se produce como resultado de la práctica». Recientemente Javier Martínez Aldanondo (2021) presentaba una definición construida por un grupo de docentes «Aprender es un PROCESO continuo (consciente o inconsciente) basado en la EXPERIENCIA por el que producimos CONOCIMIENTOS que nos permiten SER, DECIDIR y ACTUAR.» El presente libro refiere a los procesos de cambio, a las experiencias dinamizadoras de nuevas tendencias educativas, a crear conocimientos para ser persona, a tener capacidad de decidir y saber actuar adecuadamente. En su desarrollo se plantean dos tipos de elementos: los impulsores, aquellos que conducen hacia el aprendizaje y los detonantes, que producen el aprendizaje. Si algo sobra en este mundo es información. ¿Por qué esa obsesión con que nuestros alumnos o nuestros hijos sepan muchas cosas? Muchas veces nos dicen «para qué tengo que aprender eso si ya está en Google». Los estudiantes se aburren en el colegio porque no hacen apenas nada mientras en el resto de su vida tienen multitud de actividades, son protagonistas, tienen autonomía y pueden decidir. Cuando hablamos de enseñar algo, nos referimos a enseñar a hacer algo y para eso no hay otro camino que practicar, «aprender haciendo», ya lo decía Dewey hace un siglo y sigue siendo válido y actual. Tratamos de responder a algunas de las grandes preguntas que nos hacemos los educadores y que siempre quedan incompletas. La experiencia de la pandemia y su impacto educativo ha puesto en evidencia las debilidades de nuestro sistema educativo y por ende, ha resaltado la importancia de las recurrentes preguntas que se plantean en contextos educativos ¿Por qué aprender? ¿Qué aprender? ¿Cómo aprender? ¿Dónde aprender? ¿Cuándo aprender? En los dos apartados del libro se han abordado distintas respuestas, resultado de investigaciones contrastadas. Se ha puesto el foco en el cómo, con qué metodologías y qué recursos y en el dónde, analizando los espacios de aprendizaje y la variedad de los contextos multinacionales. Book excerpt: Major IR theories, which stress that actors will inevitably only seek to enhance their own interests, tend to contrive binaries of self and other and ‘inside’ and ‘outside’. By contrast, this book recognizes the general need of all to relate, which they do through various imagined resemblances between them. The authors of this book therefore propose the ‘balance of relationships’ (BoR) as a new international relations theory to transcend binary ways of thinking. BoR theory differs from mainstream IR theories owing to two key differences in its epistemological position. Firstly, the theory explains why and how states as socially-interrelated actors inescapably pursue a strategy of self-restraint in order to join a network of stable and long-term relationships. Secondly, owing to its focus on explaining bilateral relations, BoR theory bypasses rule-based governance. By positing ‘relationality’ as a key concept of Chinese international relations, this book shows that BoR can also serve as an important concept in the theorization of international relations, more broadly. The rising interest in developing a Chinese school of IR means the BoR theory will draw attention from students of IR theory, comparative foreign policy, Chinese foreign policy, East Asia, cultural studies, post-Western IR, post-colonial studies and civilizational politics.
