Book excerpt: Estas notas sobre Introducción al cálculo avanzado son el resultado en cierta forma de cursos que sobre el tema se han dictado durante varios años en el posgrado de Matemáticas de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia. También se han usado parte de estas notas en el curso de Análisis III de la carrera de Matemáticas. El objetivo es proveer los conocimientos básicos para cursos de ecuaciones diferenciales ordinarias, ecuaciones diferenciales parciales, topología diferencial, variedades diferenciales, mecánica y otros que se ofrecen tanto en la carrera como en el posgrado de matemáticas, tratando que el estudiante se familiarice con el lenguaje moderno, sin que pierda el sabor y la intuición que da la matemática clásica. Se desarrolla la teoría usando el lenguaje de los espacios vectoriales, teniendo como cuerpo de escalares, los números reales R, y en espacios vectoriales normados. La mayoría de los resultados se extienden a espacios vectoriales normados con cuerpo de escalares C. El curso es desarrollado, teniendo en cuenta que el estudiante ha recibido un curso preliminar de álgebra lineal, se suponen conocidas las nociones de espacio vectorial, de base, dimensión de un espacio vectorial, independencia lineal de vectores, aplicación lineal entre espacios vectoriales, etc., sin embargo, se recuerdan a lo largo de estas notas-curso muchos de estos conceptos. El texto provee ejemplos en detalle, con el ánimo de mostrar algunos métodos. Al final del libro se cita la bibliografía usada y algunos artículos de referencia.
