Book Number Theoretic Methods in Statistics

Download or read book Number Theoretic Methods in Statistics written by Kai-Tai Fang and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1993-12-01 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a survey of recent work on the application of number theory in statistics. The essence of number-theoretic methods is to find a set of points that are universally scattered over an s-dimensional unit cube. In certain circumstances this set can be used instead of random numbers in the Monte Carlo method. The idea can also be applied to other problems such as in experimental design. This book will illustrate the idea of number-theoretic methods and their application in statistics. The emphasis is on applying the methods to practical problems so only part-proofs of theorems are given.

Book An Integrated Decision Making Method Based on Neutrosophic Numbers for Investigating Factors of Coastal Erosion

Download or read book An Integrated Decision Making Method Based on Neutrosophic Numbers for Investigating Factors of Coastal Erosion written by Azzah Awang and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The recent boom of various integrated decision-making methods has attracted many researchers to the field. The recent integrated Analytic Network Process and Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (ANP–DEMATEL) methods were developed based on crisp numbers and fuzzy numbers. However, these numbers are incapable of dealing with the indeterminant and inconsistent information that exists in real-life problems. This paper proposes improvements to the integrated ANP–DEMATEL method by bringing together the neutrosophic numbers, the ANP method, and the DEMATEL method, which are later abbreviated to NS-DANP.

Book Exponential Operations and an Aggregation Method for Single Valued Neutrosophic Numbers in Decision Making

Download or read book Exponential Operations and an Aggregation Method for Single Valued Neutrosophic Numbers in Decision Making written by Zhikang Lu and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As an extension of an intuitionistic fuzzy set, a single-valued neutrosophic set is described independently by the membership functions of its truth, indeterminacy, andfalsity, which is as ubclass of a neutrosophic set (NS). However, in existing exponential operations and their aggregation methods for neutrosophic numbers (NNs) (basic elements in NSs), the exponents (weights) are positive real numbers in unit intervals under neutrosophic decision-making environments.

Book Numerical Bayesian Methods Applied to Signal Processing

Download or read book Numerical Bayesian Methods Applied to Signal Processing written by Joseph J.K. O Ruanaidh and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is concerned with the processing of signals that have been sam pled and digitized. The fundamental theory behind Digital Signal Process ing has been in existence for decades and has extensive applications to the fields of speech and data communications, biomedical engineering, acous tics, sonar, radar, seismology, oil exploration, instrumentation and audio signal processing to name but a few [87]. The term "Digital Signal Processing", in its broadest sense, could apply to any operation carried out on a finite set of measurements for whatever purpose. A book on signal processing would usually contain detailed de scriptions of the standard mathematical machinery often used to describe signals. It would also motivate an approach to real world problems based on concepts and results developed in linear systems theory, that make use of some rather interesting properties of the time and frequency domain representations of signals. While this book assumes some familiarity with traditional methods the emphasis is altogether quite different. The aim is to describe general methods for carrying out optimal signal processing.
