Book Measure Valued Solutions for Nonlinear Evolution Equations on Banach Spaces and Their Optimal Control

Download or read book Measure Valued Solutions for Nonlinear Evolution Equations on Banach Spaces and Their Optimal Control written by N. U. Ahmed and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-09-12 with total page 236 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers the first comprehensive presentation of measure-valued solutions for nonlinear deterministic and stochastic evolution equations on infinite dimensional Banach spaces. Unlike traditional solutions, measure-valued solutions allow for a much broader class of abstract evolution equations to be addressed, providing a broader approach. The book presents extensive results on the existence of measure-valued solutions for differential equations that have no solutions in the usual sense. It covers a range of topics, including evolution equations with continuous/discontinuous vector fields, neutral evolution equations subject to vector measures as impulsive forces, stochastic evolution equations, and optimal control of evolution equations. The optimal control problems considered cover the existence of solutions, necessary conditions of optimality, and more, significantly complementing the existing literature. This book will be of great interest to researchers in functional analysis, partial differential equations, dynamic systems and their optimal control, and their applications, advancing previous research and providing a foundation for further exploration of the field.

Book Nonlinear Evolution Equations in Banach Spaces

Download or read book Nonlinear Evolution Equations in Banach Spaces written by Michael G. Crandall and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 61 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The evolution problem 0 belong to du/dt + A(t)u(t), u(s) = x, where the A(t) are nonlinear operators acting in a Banach space, is studied. Evolution operators are constructed from the A(t) under various assumptions. Basic properties of these evolution operators are established and their relationship to the evolution equation is studied. The results obtained extend several known existence theorems and provide generalized solutions of the evolution equation in more general cases. (Author).

Book Nonlinear Evolution Equations

Download or read book Nonlinear Evolution Equations written by Michael G. Crandall and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-05-10 with total page 266 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nonlinear Evolution Equation covers the proceedings of the Symposium by the same title, conducted by the Mathematics Research Center at the University of Wisconsin, Madison on October 17-19, 1977. This book is divided into 13 chapters and begins with reviews of the uniqueness of solution to systems of conservation laws and the computational aspects of Glimm’s method. The next chapters examine the theoretical and practical aspects of Boltzmann, Navier-Stokes, and evolution equations. These topics are followed by discussions of the practical applications of Trotter’s product formula for some nonlinear semigroups and the finite time blow-up in nonlinear problems. The closing chapters deal with a Hamiltonian approach to the K-dV and other equations, along with a variational method for finding periodic solutions of differential equations. This book will prove useful to mathematicians and engineers.

Book Lectures on Nonlinear Evolution Equations

Download or read book Lectures on Nonlinear Evolution Equations written by Reinhard Racke and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2015-08-31 with total page 315 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book mainly serves as an elementary, self-contained introduction to several important aspects of the theory of global solutions to initial value problems for nonlinear evolution equations. The book employs the classical method of continuation of local solutions with the help of a priori estimates obtained for small data. The existence and uniqueness of small, smooth solutions that are defined for all values of the time parameter are investigated. Moreover, the asymptotic behaviour of the solutions is described as time tends to infinity. The methods for nonlinear wave equations are discussed in detail. Other examples include the equations of elasticity, heat equations, the equations of thermoelasticity, Schrödinger equations, Klein-Gordon equations, Maxwell equations and plate equations. To emphasize the importance of studying the conditions under which small data problems offer global solutions, some blow-up results are briefly described. Moreover, the prospects for corresponding initial boundary value problems and for open questions are provided. In this second edition, initial-boundary value problems in waveguides are additionally considered.

Book Evolution Equations And Approximations

Download or read book Evolution Equations And Approximations written by Kazufumi Ito and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2002-05-24 with total page 518 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents an approximation theory for a general class of nonlinear evolution equations in Banach spaces and the semigroup theory, including the linear (Hille-Yosida), nonlinear (Crandall-Liggett) and time-dependent (Crandall-Pazy) theorems. The implicit finite difference method of Euler is shown to generate a sequence convergent to the unique integral solution of evolution equations of the maximal monotone type. Moreover, the Chernoff theory provides a sufficient condition for consistent and stable time integration of time-dependent nonlinear equations. The Trotter-Kato theorem and the Lie-Trotter type product formula give a mathematical framework for the convergence analysis of numerical approximations of solutions to a general class of partial differential equations. This book contains examples demonstrating the applicability of the generation as well as the approximation theory. In addition, the Kobayashi-Oharu approach of locally quasi-dissipative operators is discussed for homogeneous as well as nonhomogeneous equations. Applications to the delay differential equations, Navier-Stokes equation and scalar conservation equation are given.
