Book Nonlinear Control Systems Design 1998

Download or read book Nonlinear Control Systems Design 1998 written by H. J. C. Huijberts and published by Pergamon. This book was released on 1998 with total page 448 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The NOLCOS '98 is the fourth edition of the IFAC Nonlinear Control Systems Design Symposium, which is organised every three years. The symposium presented the state of the art in the design of nonlinear control systems. It explored current theoretical developments as well as their latest applications to engineering problems. The symposium provided a forum for the presentation and discussion of papers which described new design methodologies for the control of nonlinear plants and featured novel applications of these methods. The symposium included six plenary lectures and 30 sessions, including five invited sessions. The range of topics under discussion included amongst others: Applications of nonlinear control; Algebraic theory of nonlinear systems; Geometric theory of nonlinear systems; Discrete-time nonlinear control systems; Stabilizability and feedback stabilization; Nonlinear observers and filters; Optimal control of nonlinear systems; Variable structure systems; Nonlinear robust and H-Infinity control; Adaptive control of nonlinear systems; Singular perturbations in nonlinear control; Expert control for nonlinear systems; Computational methods for design and control.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this book is to present a self-contained description of the fundamentals of the theory of nonlinear control systems, with special emphasis on the differential geometric approach. The book is intended as a graduate text as well as a reference to scientists and engineers involved in the analysis and design of feedback systems. The first version of this book was written in 1983, while I was teaching at the Department of Systems Science and Mathematics at Washington University in St. Louis. This new edition integrates my subsequent teaching experience gained at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 1987, at the Carl Cranz Gesellschaft in Oberpfaffenhofen in 1987, at the University of California in Berkeley in 1988. In addition to a major rearrangement of the last two Chapters of the first version, this new edition incorporates two additional Chapters at a more elementary level and an exposition of some relevant research findings which have occurred since 1985. In the past few years differential geometry has proved to be an effective means of analysis and design of nonlinear control systems as it was in the past for the Laplace transform, complex variable theory and linear algebra in relation to linear systems. Synthesis problems of longstanding interest like disturbance decoupling, noninteracting control, output regulation, and the shaping of the input-output response, can be dealt with relative ease, on the basis of mathematical concepts that can be easily acquired by a control scientist.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The objective of the EU Nonlinear Control Network Workshop was to bring together scientists who are already active in nonlinear control and young researchers working in this field. This book presents selectively invited contributions from the workshop, some describing state-of-the-art subjects that already have a status of maturity while others propose promising future directions in nonlinear control. Amongst others, following topics of nonlinear and adaptive control are included: adaptive and robust control, applications in physical systems, distributed parameter systems, disturbance attenuation, dynamic feedback, optimal control, sliding mode control, and tracking and motion planning.

Book Chaos in Automatic Control

Download or read book Chaos in Automatic Control written by Wilfrid Perruquetti and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 592 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chaotic behavior arises in a variety of control settings. In some cases, it is beneficial to remove this behavior; in others, introducing or taking advantage of the existing chaotic components can be useful for example in cryptography. Chaos in Automatic Control surveys the latest methods for inserting, taking advantage of, or removing chaos in a variety of applications. This book supplies the theoretical and pedagogical basis of chaos in control systems along with new concepts and recent developments in the field. Presented in three parts, the book examines open-loop analysis, closed-loop control, and applications of chaos in control systems. The first section builds a background in the mathematics of ordinary differential and difference equations on which the remainder of the book is based. It includes an introductory chapter by Christian Mira, a pioneer in chaos research. The next section explores solutions to problems arising in observation and control of closed-loop chaotic control systems. These include model-independent control methods, strategies such as H-infinity and sliding modes, polytopic observers, normal forms using homogeneous transformations, and observability normal forms. The final section explores applications in wireless transmission, optics, power electronics, and cryptography. Chaos in Automatic Control distills the latest thinking in chaos while relating it to the most recent developments and applications in control. It serves as a platform for developing more robust, autonomous, intelligent, and adaptive systems.
