Book Almost Periodic Oscillations and Waves

Download or read book Almost Periodic Oscillations and Waves written by Constantin Corduneanu and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-04-29 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text is well-designed with respect to the exposition from the preliminary to the more advanced and the applications interwoven throughout. It provides the essential foundations for the theory as well as the basic facts relating to almost periodicity. In six structured and self-contained chapters, the author unifies the treatment of various classes of almost periodic functions, while uniquely addressing oscillations and waves in the almost periodic case. This is the first text to present the latest results in almost periodic oscillations and waves. The presentation level and inclusion of several clearly presented proofs make this work ideal for graduate students in engineering and science. The concept of almost periodicity is widely applicable to continuuum mechanics, electromagnetic theory, plasma physics, dynamical systems, and astronomy, which makes the book a useful tool for mathematicians and physicists.

Book Almost Periodicity Chaos and Asymptotic Equivalence

Download or read book Almost Periodicity Chaos and Asymptotic Equivalence written by Marat Akhmet and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-06-20 with total page 360 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The central subject of this book is Almost Periodic Oscillations, the most common oscillations in applications and the most intricate for mathematical analysis. Prof. Akhmet's lucid and rigorous examination proves these oscillations are a "regular" component of chaotic attractors. The book focuses on almost periodic functions, first of all, as Stable (asymptotically) solutions of differential equations of different types, presumably discontinuous; and, secondly, as non-isolated oscillations in chaotic sets. Finally, the author proves the existence of Almost Periodic Oscillations (asymptotic and bi-asymptotic) by asymptotic equivalence between systems. The book brings readers' attention to contemporary methods for considering oscillations as well as to methods with strong potential for study of chaos in the future. Providing three powerful instruments for mathematical research of oscillations where dynamics are observable and applied, the book is ideal for engineers as well as specialists in electronics, computer sciences, robotics, neural networks, artificial networks, and biology. Distinctively combines results and methods of the theory of differential equations with thorough investigation of chaotic dynamics with almost periodic ingredients; Provides all necessary mathematical basics in their most developed form, negating the need for any additional sources for readers to start work in the area; Presents a unique method of investigation of discontinuous almost periodic solutions in its unified form, employed to differential equations with different types of discontinuity; Develops the equivalence method to its ultimate effective state such that most important theoretical problems and practical applications can be analyzed by the method.

Book Almost Periodic Behavior of Solutions of a Nonlinear Volterra System Ii

Download or read book Almost Periodic Behavior of Solutions of a Nonlinear Volterra System Ii written by R. K. Miller and published by . This book was released on 1970 with total page 25 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The paper studies forced almost periodic oscillations in a nonlinear system of two Volterra integral equations. It is a sequel paper to an earlier paper on the same topic. Earlier results are improved in two ways. First, it is shown that the oscillatory solution is Lyapunov stable under small perturbations in the coefficients of the equation. Secondly, it is shown that whenever the coefficients are quasiperiodic and analytic, the almost periodic oscillation is in the same class. (Author).

Book Truly Nonlinear Oscillations Harmonic Balance Parameter Expansions Iteration And Averaging Methods

Download or read book Truly Nonlinear Oscillations Harmonic Balance Parameter Expansions Iteration And Averaging Methods written by Ronald E Mickens and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2010-01-18 with total page 261 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This unique book provides a concise presentation of many of the fundamental strategies for calculating approximations to the oscillatory solutions of “truly nonlinear” (TNL) oscillator equations. The volume gives a general overview of the author's work on harmonic balance, iteration and combined linearization-averaging methods. However, full discussions are also presented on parameter expansion procedures and a first-order averaging technique for TNL oscillators. The calculational basis of each method is clarified by applying them to a set of standard TNL oscillator equations. This allows a direct comparison to be made among the various methods. The book is self-contained and therefore suitable for both classroom use and self-study by students and professionals who desire to learn, understand, and apply these technique to the field of nonlinear oscillations.

Book Applied Asymptotic Methods in Nonlinear Oscillations

Download or read book Applied Asymptotic Methods in Nonlinear Oscillations written by Yuri A. Mitropolsky and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many dynamical systems are described by differential equations that can be separated into one part, containing linear terms with constant coefficients, and a second part, relatively small compared with the first, containing nonlinear terms. Such a system is said to be weakly nonlinear. The small terms rendering the system nonlinear are referred to as perturbations. A weakly nonlinear system is called quasi-linear and is governed by quasi-linear differential equations. We will be interested in systems that reduce to harmonic oscillators in the absence of perturbations. This book is devoted primarily to applied asymptotic methods in nonlinear oscillations which are associated with the names of N. M. Krylov, N. N. Bogoli ubov and Yu. A. Mitropolskii. The advantages of the present methods are their simplicity, especially for computing higher approximations, and their applicability to a large class of quasi-linear problems. In this book, we confine ourselves basi cally to the scheme proposed by Krylov, Bogoliubov as stated in the monographs [6,211. We use these methods, and also develop and improve them for solving new problems and new classes of nonlinear differential equations. Although these methods have many applications in Mechanics, Physics and Technique, we will illustrate them only with examples which clearly show their strength and which are themselves of great interest. A certain amount of more advanced material has also been included, making the book suitable for a senior elective or a beginning graduate course on nonlinear oscillations.
