Download or read book Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis and Adina written by K. J. Bathe and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2014-05-23 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis and ADINA contains the proceedings of the Fourth ADINA Conference held at Massachusetts Institute of Technology on June 15-17, 1983. Separating the papers presented in the conference as chapters, this book first elucidates the use of ADINA for analysis of mines with explosive fills. Subsequent chapters explore the use of ADINA in soil mechanics; nonlinear shell analysis; analysis of bond between prestressed steel and concrete; determination and simulation of stable crack growth; offshore structures analysis; modeling of traveling-loads and time-dependent masses; and comparison of two slideline methods. Other notable applications of ADINA are also shown.

Book Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Pipes

Download or read book Nonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Pipes written by Husain Mohammad and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012-04 with total page 96 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study deals with structural behavior of reinforced concrete pipes under various loading and support conditions by using nonlinear three-dimensional isoparametric 20-node brick elements. the computer program of three dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis of reinforced concrete structures, written by Al- Shaarbaf is utilized. The behavior of concrete is investigated by using twenty-node brick elements. The reinforcement bars are idealized as axial members embedded within the brick elements with perfect bond between the concrete and the steel curved bars in a brick element were approximated by straight bars parallel to the main coordinate axes. The behavior of concrete in compression is simulated by an (Elastic- Plastic Work Hardening Model) followed by a perfect plastic response, which is terminated at the onest of crushing. In tension, a smeared crack model with fixed orthogonal cracks has been used with the inclusion of models for the retained post-cracking tensile stress and reduced shear transfer modulus. Loading of the pipes and support conditions were properly considered according to the characteristics of the problem.

Book Finite Element Analysis of the Collapse and Post Collapse Behavior of Steel Pipes Applications to the Oil Industry

Download or read book Finite Element Analysis of the Collapse and Post Collapse Behavior of Steel Pipes Applications to the Oil Industry written by Eduardo N Dvorkin and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2014-07-08 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a detailed discussion of the models that were developed to simulate the collapse and post-collapse behavior of steel pipes. The finite element method offers to engineers the possibility of developing models to simulate the collapse behavior of casings inside oil wells and the collapse behavior of deepwater pipelines. However, if technological decisions are going to be reached from these model results, with implications for the economic success of industrial operations, for the occupational safety and health and for the environment, the engineering models need to be highly reliable. Using these models engineers can quantify the effect of manufacturing tolerances, wear, corrosion, etc. This book describes in great details the experimental programs that are developed to validate the numerical results.

Book Nonlinear Analysis for Pipe Bends Due to Plastic Load

Download or read book Nonlinear Analysis for Pipe Bends Due to Plastic Load written by Khamtanh Santisouk and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Pipe bends are considered as a critical component in the piping system. Therefore, it is very important and necessary to be able to predict their response accurately and to have deep understanding of their elastic-plastic behavior under different conditions of loads. By understanding their behavior, it is very useful, for the design safe purposes, to have accurate and conservative estimates of the limit loads, beyond which the structure of the pipe bend undergoes excessive plastic deformation. The historical of pipe bends have been difficult to analyze accurately. With the development of finite element analysis (FMA) it has become possible to model, the behavior of pipe bends using a variety of elements. In research, shell elements are often used in piping analysis. The goal of this research is to study behavior of the pipe bends under different conditions of loads and to study the effects of changing the value of pipe bend factors, varying with wall thickness.
