Book Density Functional Theory Calculations

Download or read book Density Functional Theory Calculations written by Sergio Ricardo De Lazaro and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2021-02-03 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a contribution to the fast and broad Density Functional Theory (DFT) applications of the last few years. Since 2000, the DFT has grown exponentially in several computational areas because of its versatility and reliability to calculate energy from electronic density. The fast DFT’s calculations show how scientists develop more codes focused to simulate molecular and material properties reaching better conclusions than with previous theories. More powerful computers and lower computational costs have certainly assisted the increased growth of interest in this theory. Each chapter presents a specific subject contributing to a vision of the great potential of the quantum/DFT simulations in high pressure, chemical reactivity, ionic liquid, chemoinformatic, molecular docking, and non-equilibrium state.

Book Introduction To High energy Heavy ion Collisions

Download or read book Introduction To High energy Heavy ion Collisions written by Cheuk-yin Wong and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1994-09-30 with total page 542 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Written primarily for researchers and graduate students who are new in this emerging field, this book develops the necessary tools so that readers can follow the latest advances in this subject. Readers are first guided to examine the basic informations on nucleon-nucleon collisions and the use of the nucleus as an arena to study the interaction of one nucleon with another. A good survey of the relation between nucleon-nucleon and nucleus-nucleus collisions provides the proper comparison to study phenomena involving the more exotic quark-gluon plasma. Properties of the quark-gluon plasma and signatures for its detection are discussed to aid future searches and exploration for this exotic matter. Recent experimental findings are summarised.

Book Basic Atomic Interactions of Accelerated Heavy Ions in Matter

Download or read book Basic Atomic Interactions of Accelerated Heavy Ions in Matter written by Inga Tolstikhina and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-02-28 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides an overview of the recent experimental and theoretical results on interactions of heavy ions with gaseous, solid and plasma targets from the perspective of atomic physics. The topics discussed comprise stopping power, multiple-electron loss and capture processes, equilibrium and non-equilibrium charge-state fractions in penetration of fast ion beams through matter including relativistic domain. It also addresses mean charge-states and equilibrium target thickness in ion-beam penetrations, isotope effects in low-energy electron capture, lifetimes of heavy ion beams, semi-empirical formulae for effective cross sections. The book is intended for researchers and graduate students working in atomic, plasma and accelerator physics.

Book Pre equilibrium Decay Processes in Energetic Heavy Ion Reactions

Download or read book Pre equilibrium Decay Processes in Energetic Heavy Ion Reactions written by and published by . This book was released on 1986 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Boltzmann master equation (BME) is defined for application to precompound decay in heavy ion reactions in the 10 100 MeV/nucleon regime. Predicted neutron spectra are compared with measured results for central collisions of 2°Ne and 12C with 165Ho target nuclei. Comparisons are made with subthreshold .pi.° yields in heavy ion reactions between 35 and 84 MeV/nucleon, and with the .pi.° spectra. The BME is found to be an excellent tool for investigating these experimentally observed aspects of non-equilibrium heavy ion reactions. 18 refs., 8 figs.
