Book Ship Systems and Equipment Hydraulic Systems Noise Control

Download or read book Ship Systems and Equipment Hydraulic Systems Noise Control written by Ship Fluid Systems Committee and published by . This book was released on 2000 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hydraulic systems are used on marine vehicles for steering, vehicle control, and utility services. System components that generate and transmit noise are of concern. This SAE Information Report (a) addresses noise requirements which may apply to the hydraulic systems of ships and submersibles, and (b) identifies noise sources and techniques which may be used to reduce system noise. Noise of power sources (e.g., electric motors) and end items (e.g., steering linkages) is beyond the scope of this document.

Book Noise Reduction in Hydraulic Systems

Download or read book Noise Reduction in Hydraulic Systems written by Earl Logan (Jr) and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 87 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A preliminary investigation of noise in hydraulic systems was undertaken in order to determine causes and methods for reduction of noise. A method for predicting the sound pressure level associated with fluid pumping was achieved. Predictions made by this method agreed with experimental measurements made on a representative hydraulic system developed for this research. It is recommended that the calculation method be extended to include all types of pumps and piping arrangements found in hydraulic systems and that the experimental apparatus be modified to further test predicted results. Book Advances in Hydraulic and Pneumatic Drives and Control 2020

Download or read book Advances in Hydraulic and Pneumatic Drives and Control 2020 written by Jarosław Stryczek and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-10-18 with total page 454 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book reports on cutting-edge research and technical achievements in the field of hydraulic drives. The chapters, selected from contributions presented at the International Scientific-Technical Conference on Hydraulic and Pneumatic Drives and Controls, NSHP 2020, held on October 21-23, 2020, in Trzebieszowice, Poland, cover a wide range of topics such as theoretical advances in fluid technology, work machines in mining, construction, marine and manufacturing industry, and practical issues relating to the application and operation of hydraulic drives. Further topics include: safety and environmental issues associated with the use of machines with hydraulic drive, and new materials in design of hydraulic components. A special emphasis is given to new solutions for hydraulic components and systems as well as to the identification of phenomena and processes occurring during the operation of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Book Noise Control in Industry

Download or read book Noise Control in Industry written by Nicholas P. Cheremisinoff and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1996-12-31 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Damage from noise exposure of sufficient intensity and duration is well established and hearing loss may be temporary or permanent. Fortunately, noise exposure can be controlled and technology exists to reduce the hazards. Aside from employer/employee concern with the inherent hazards of noise, added attention has been brought to focus on the subject through regulatory requirements. Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) every employer is legally responsible for providing a workplace free of hazards such as excessive noise. It has been estimated that 14 million US workers are exposed to hazardous noise. This book is presented as an overview summary for employers, workers, and supervisors interested in workplace noise and its control. We believe that in order to understand and control noise it is not necessary to be highly technical. Noise problems can quite often be solved by the people who are directly affected. Presented is an overview of noise, the regulations concerning its control, an explanation of specific principles, and a discussion of some particular techniques.

Book Hydraulic Power System Analysis

Book Hydraulic System Noise Study Annual Report

Download or read book Hydraulic System Noise Study Annual Report written by OKLAHOMA STATE UNIV STILLWATER FLUID POWER RESEARCH CENTER. and published by . This book was released on 1972 with total page 114 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of the OSU-MERDC Hydraulic Specification Program is to develop industrially acceptable test procedures and requirement specifications relative to the performance of hydraulic components and systems to facilitate the military's buy commercial approach. Although the program has been aimed toward components and systems for future 3000 psi operating pressure levels, it was intended that the test procedures be applicable to any pressure level. The report presents a detailed account of the experimental verification part of the hydraulic noise study. Test procedures for hydraulic component noise, developed under this contract, are presented and experimentally verified. The preliminary results of a measurement survey of airborne pump noise, supported by an extension of the contract, are presented and compared with published sound power levels for pumps. Specific recommendations are made for continuing the effort to understand and control hydraulic noise. (Author).
