Download or read book Finna written by Nino Cipri and published by Tordotcom. This book was released on 2020-02-25 with total page 87 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “A magical anti-capitalist adventure.” —Annalee Newitz Nino Cipri's Finna is a rambunctious, touching story that blends all the horrors the multiverse has to offer with the everyday awfulness of low-wage work. It explores queer relationships and queer feelings, capitalism and accountability, labor and love, all with a bouncing sense of humor and a commitment to the strange. When an elderly customer at a Swedish big box furniture store — but not that one — slips through a portal to another dimension, it’s up to two minimum-wage employees to track her across the multiverse and protect their company’s bottom line. Multi-dimensional swashbuckling would be hard enough, but those two unfortunate souls broke up a week ago. To find the missing granny, Ava and Jules will brave carnivorous furniture, swarms of identical furniture spokespeople, and the deep resentment simmering between them. Can friendship blossom from the ashes of their relationship? In infinite dimensions, all things are possible. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Every recipe that I create is filtered and stepped through two major life events. The first event was growing up in South Louisiana. I mean the heart of the Southern extremities. I had relatives that still hunted and trapped animals for a living. I had my own pirogue paddling deep into the bayous catching crawfish, killing (and eating) Racoons, catching frogs,Soccalet, Garfish, Aligators, Rabbits, Squirells, Blackbirds, climbing trees, making tree houses and eating coovient. Then the recipes are filtered either before or after or simutaneously through the major life experience of living in the Sicilian Countryside alongside the foothills of Mt. Etna (Europes largest active volcano!)This South Louisiana boy is now fully immersed in the thick of Italian lifestyle. No microwaves, no freezers, No Wall mart, No air conditioning, no fast food! Every meal had to be cooked from scratch. Thank God for the generosity of the Italian People. These kind people literally took me by the hand and taught me how to develop from scratch recipes using garlic, olive oil, fresh herbs and ingredients to create the most flavorful, healthy dishes that I have ever tasted. These families literally affected and changed my life forever, and because of their gentle hands and generous heart I am able to bring to you Alfreddeaux. Every new recipe is derived through the inspiration of living in south Louisiana and Italy. I ENTHEUSTICALLY BRING TO YOU ALFREDDEAUX!!!!!!

Download or read book Ni os de la Calle en M xico written by Karolyn Verville and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-06-29 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

This book was released on 2012-11 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book An Introduction to the Dynamics of El Nino and the Southern Oscillation written by Allan J. Clarke and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2008-01-28 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many scientists either working on the El Niño/Southern Oscillation (ENSO) problem or its many applications have not been trained in both the equatorial ocean and atmospheric dynamics necessary to understand it. This book seeks to overcome this difficulty by providing a step by step introduction to ENSO, helping the upper level graduate student or research scientist to learn quickly the ENSO basics and be up to date with the latest ENSO research. The text assumes that the reader has a knowledge of the equations of fluid mechanics on a rotating earth and emphasizes the observations and simple physical explanations of them. Following a history of ENSO and a discussion of ENSO observations in Chapters 1 and 2, Chapters 3-5 consider relevant equatorial ocean dynamics, Chapters 6 and 9 relevant atmospheric dynamics, and Chapters 7 and 8 the main paradigms for how the Pacific Ocean and atmosphere couple together to produce ENSO. Chapter 8 also discusses the old mystery of why ENSO tends to be locked in phase with the seasonal cycle. Successful dynamical and statistical approaches to ENSO prediction are discussed in Chapters 10 and 11 while Chapter 12 concludes the book with examples of how ENSO influences marine and bird life. - Quick reference guide and step by step introduction to El Niño/Southern Oscillation dynamics - Keep informed and up to date on El Niño/Southern Oscillation research and how El Niño and the Southern Oscillation can be predicted - Understand how El Niño can affect marine and bird life

Download or read book Adi s Ni o written by Deborah T. Levenson and published by Duke University Press. This book was released on 2013-04-09 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Adiós Niño: The Gangs of Guatemala City and the Politics of Death, Deborah T. Levenson examines transformations in the Guatemalan gangs called Maras from their emergence in the 1980s to the early 2000s. A historical study, Adiós Niño describes how fragile spaces of friendship and exploration turned into rigid and violent ones in which youth, and especially young men, came to employ death as a natural way of living for the short period that they expected to survive. Levenson relates the stark changes in the Maras to global, national, and urban deterioration; transregional gangs that intersect with the drug trade; and the Guatemalan military's obliteration of radical popular movements and of social imaginaries of solidarity. Part of Guatemala City's reconfigured social, political, and cultural milieu, with their members often trapped in Guatemala's growing prison system, the gangs are used to justify remilitarization in Guatemala's contemporary postwar, post-peace era. Portraying the Maras as microcosms of broader tragedies, and pointing out the difficulties faced by those youth who seek to escape the gangs, Levenson poses important questions about the relationship between trauma, memory, and historical agency.
