Book Nine Lies Told from the Pulpit

Download or read book Nine Lies Told from the Pulpit written by Bertha Kufa Nhemwa and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2020-08-13 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I was inspired to write this book because I am a preacher and teacher of the word. I listen to many sermons and I read many Christian books. From my revelation it shows the Kingdom of God is divided. A Kingdom divided will not stand and I have seen the devil deceiving many believers. Believers think that if the word is preached by a seasoned pastor, it is true. They do not have time to check what the Bible says and therefore they believe wrong doctrines. The Bible has been manipulated and many lies have been taught on the pulpit to the extent that praise and worship is no longer about God, but it is now about earthly possessions. If you listen to many songs sung in churches, there is no Christ in them. This book will reveal some of the lies that we have heard from the pulpit and open people's eyes to the truth. I want people to know the truth so that they are set free and I also want people to have their eyes opened so that they are able to identify the wolves dressed in sheep's clothing when they listen to men and women of God preaching.A Believer who wants to open other believers' eyes so that they may not be exposed to the wrong doctrines that are destroying peoples' lives through lies told on the pulpit. Those who worship God must worship him in spirit and in truth and I thrive to do just that. I want to expose the lies of the devil whose messages sound good and convincing on the pulpit but in there lies deception. I desire for truth to be told for the truth will set people free.

Church congregations are not being given a comprehensive, biblical understanding of the faith. Drawing on his own experience as a pastor in Zambia, Conrad Mbewe tackles issues such as the content of pastoral preaching, how pastoral preaching relates to church life, finding the time to prepare pastoral sermons, and dealing with discouragement. Throughout the book, it is clear that the author’s conviction is to see preachers grow strong churches, to build a people for God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Lies From The Pulpit, author Connie Wiedeman points to Scripture that labels, as liars, such international Christian leaders as Billy Graham, Pat Robertson, Robert Schuller, Charles Stanley ... even the Pope! As evidenced by the unprecedented success of the Left Behind series, nothing seems to be more in the forefront of the minds of Christians (or is to them more fascinating) than biblical prophecies or other matters relating to their eternal destination. Since people everywhere resist any challenge to their long-held, deeply-felt beliefs (no matter how correct the challenge nor how wrong the belief), Lies From The Pulpit will surely find a place high on the "must-read" list and its author at the top of the "hit-list" of most Christian denominations.

Book The Nine Lives of Pakistan Dispatches from a Precarious State

Download or read book The Nine Lives of Pakistan Dispatches from a Precarious State written by Declan Walsh and published by W. W. Norton & Company. This book was released on 2020-11-17 with total page 301 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Winner of the 2021 Overseas Press Club of America Cornelius Ryan Award The former New York Times Pakistan bureau chief paints an arresting, up-close portrait of a fractured country. Declan Walsh is one of the New York Times’s most distinguished international correspondents. His electrifying portrait of Pakistan over a tumultuous decade captures the sweep of this strange, wondrous, and benighted country through the dramatic lives of nine fascinating individuals. On assignment as the country careened between crises, Walsh traveled from the raucous port of Karachi to the salons of Lahore, and from Baluchistan to the mountains of Waziristan. He met a diverse cast of extraordinary Pakistanis—a chieftain readying for war at his desert fort, a retired spy skulking through the borderlands, and a crusading lawyer risking death for her beliefs, among others. Through these “nine lives” he describes a country on the brink—a place of creeping extremism and political chaos, but also personal bravery and dogged idealism that defy easy stereotypes. Unbeknownst to Walsh, however, an intelligence agent was tracking him. Written in the aftermath of Walsh’s abrupt deportation, The Nine Lives of Pakistan concludes with an astonishing encounter with that agent, and his revelations about Pakistan’s powerful security state. Intimate and complex, attuned to the centrifugal forces of history, identity, and faith, The Nine Lives of Pakistan offers an unflinching account of life in a precarious, vital country.
