Book Ni Organonickel Compounds

    Book Details:
  • Author : Peter W. Jolly
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2013-11-11
  • ISBN : 3662075334
  • Pages : 394 pages

Download or read book Ni Organonickel Compounds written by Peter W. Jolly and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-11 with total page 394 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume starts the updating of the information on organonickel chemistry, one of the most active areas of modern organometallic chemistry. It covers all mononuclear compounds containing one nickel-to-carbon bond. The main part is devoted to the family of planar NiII compounds, RNi(D)2X, which within 20 years has increased from about 250 to more than 1000 members. This research interest has been stimulated by the fact that many compounds insert various unsaturated species into the Ni-C bond to create new organonickel species. Moreover, these compounds are important as intermediates in many catalytic processes involving organic halides. Compounds containing h*2-bonded heteroalkene molecules including the C1 fragments CO2 and CS2, and related metallocyclic compounds are also emphasized in this volume. These types of compounds play an important role in a number of nickel-catalyzed co-oligomerization reactions involving unsaturated organic compounds. Most of the compounds are well-characterized by modern spectroscopic techniques. The various types of compounds are in most cases confirmed by X-ray diffraction. The author of these volumes, a member of the M lheim group, has made many contributions of his own and is eminently qualified to critically review this area of research.

Book The Organic Chemistry of Nickel

Download or read book The Organic Chemistry of Nickel written by P.W. Jolly and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 533 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Organic Chemistry of Nickel, Volume I: Organonickel Complexes is devoted to a description of the organonickel complexes. The major goal is to provide a reference work, and for this reason a conventional layout has been adopted with separate chapters devoted to each type of organic ligand. In the interest of readability, known compounds have been assembled in tables at the end of each chapter, thereby allowing the text to be used for discussions of the general chemistry involved and to highlight the special reactions associated with nickel. Conscious of the needs of organometallic chemists, the authors included systems in which no nickel-carbon bond is involved. Among these is a chapter on the tetrakisligand nickel complexes and sections on dioxygen and azobenzene complexes. The nitrosyl complexes and complexes containing a metal-metal bond—topics frequently considered to be part of the domain of the organometallic chemist—have not received individual attention. Tables of the observed bond distances in organonickel complexes are provided as an Appendix; a short list of the more important review articles relevant to each organic ligand can be found at the end of each chapter.

Book Gmelin Ni Organische Vbg Suppl abgeschlossen 2

Download or read book Gmelin Ni Organische Vbg Suppl abgeschlossen 2 written by Peter W. Jolly and published by Springer. This book was released on 1994-12-16 with total page 215 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume covers all mononuclear nickel compounds that have two or more organic ligands connected via one nickel-to-carbon bond to the nikckel atom. Included are four- to n-membered nickelacycles. Their most interesting types of reactions are the insertion of small unsaturated molecules into the Ni-C bond and the reductive coupling with formation of cyclic organic molecules. Both reaction types play important roles in nickel-catalyzed processes. Further chapters are devoted to compounds with a carbene or carbyne as the only Ni-bonded organic ligand and to compounds in which a carbyne ligand bridges a nickel-to-transition metal bond.

Book Synthesis and Study of Coordination Compounds of Cobalt Copper Palladium and Nickel with Polydentate Ligands Containing Sulfur

Download or read book Synthesis and Study of Coordination Compounds of Cobalt Copper Palladium and Nickel with Polydentate Ligands Containing Sulfur written by Tatiana Straistari and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work focuses on the synthesis, the characterization and the catalytic evaluation in the reduction of protons into dihydrogen, of new complexes of Ni(II), Co(III), Cu(II) and Pd(II) based ligands Type thiosemicarbazone. The catalytically active species during the process of the proton reduction was studied by cyclic voltammetry and mechanisms were formulated on the basis quantum chemical calculation. The first chapter introduces the scientific context, the goals and the main objectives of this work. The second chapter concerns the synthesis and the characterization of the N2S2 ligands and their associated mononuclear complexes, Ni, Cu and Pd. The third chapter presents the synthesis and the characterization of binuclear Co and trinuclear Ni based on N2S2 ligand.Electrochemical studies of these complexes in DMF in the presence of a proton source (trifluoroacetic acid), allowed us to evaluate their catalytic efficiency. Our results show that Cu and Pd complexes have a specific irreversible wave for the reduction of protons, but decomposition is observed during electrolysis, which makes these uninteresting complexes for the reduction of protons. On the contrary, Ni and Co complexes showed an electrochemical stability and good catalytic performances. In particular, the new mononuclear Ni complex exhibits remarkable catalytic properties that rank it among the best catalysts for the reduction of protons reported in the literature. All this work provided a complete description of the electrochemical behavior of N2S2 thiosemicarbazone ligands complexed to transition metals. It allows considering future developments in improving the catalytic properties of these complexes.
