Book CDF Searches for New Phenomena

Download or read book CDF Searches for New Phenomena written by and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 16 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present results of recent searches for new physics using the CDF detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. Presented are searches for Higgs →??, as well as more general searches in?? + X where X is /E{sub T}, jets, charged leptons, b-quarks or extra photons. The CDF ee??/E{sub T} candidate event is discussed along with estimates of the expected rates in the Standard Model. Other searches for SUSY, Higgs and Technicolor look for particles which decay to vector bosons and b-quarks.

Book Search for New Phenomena with the CDF Detector

Download or read book Search for New Phenomena with the CDF Detector written by and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present the results of the searches for new phenomena in pp collisions at √s=1.8 TeV with the CDF detector using the full data sample of 110 pb−1 collected between 1992 and 1995. We have searched for new physics in events with two photons, testing some of the hypotheses proposed to explain the appearance of the CDF ee[gamma][gamma] E{sub T} event. New results on the search for a heavy neutral scalar object, charged Higgs bosons (H{sup {+-}}) and the scalar top quark are presented. Finally we summarize the CDF results on the search for third generation leptoquarks.

Book Search for Anomalous Production of Events with Two Photons and Additional Energetic Objects at CDF

Download or read book Search for Anomalous Production of Events with Two Photons and Additional Energetic Objects at CDF written by and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 27 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors present results of a search for anomalous production of two photons together with an electron, muon, [tau] lepton, missing transverse energy, or jets using p{bar p} collision data from 1.1-2.0 fb−1 of integrated luminosity collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab (CDF). The event yields and kinematic distributions are examined for signs for new physics without favoring a specific model of new physics. The results are consistent with the standard model expectations. The search employs several new analysis techniques that significantly reduce instrumental backgrounds in channels with an electron and missing transverse energy.

Book Search for New Physics in Dilepton and Diphoton Final States at CDF

Download or read book Search for New Physics in Dilepton and Diphoton Final States at CDF written by Xin Wu and published by . This book was released on 2005 with total page 4 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The CDF detector has accumulated a large data sample of p{bar p} collisions at {radical}s = 1.96 TeV at the Fermilab Tevatron. In this report we present the results of searches for physics beyond the Standard Model using final states of 2 leptons or 2 photons using 190 pb{sup -1} to 448 pb{sup -1} of data. No deviation from the predictions of Standard Model was observed. The non-observation was used to derive cross section limits on contributions to these final states from possible new physics processes. For many specific new physics models, such as Z', Randall-Sundrum Graviton, Large Extra Dimensions and SUSY, these cross section limits can be used to place strong constraints on their parameters.
