She'll give him her trust in this sizzling romance from New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal best-selling author Georgia Cates. A beautiful stranger. That’s all she was when I moved into the house beside her. And then I discovered something. My neighbor isn’t your typical girl next door. She’s a preacher’s daughter. She’s a business professional. She’s a fiery vixen who desires a strong alpha in the bedroom. And a firm grip around her throat. That’s what I give her. But more than that, I want to leave my mark on the most intimate, untouched part of her body. Her heart. Things are perfect until that cruel twist of fate. We learn that our paths aren’t crossing for the first time. And we aren’t strangers at all. Our history is painful. Our love, fragile. Our ending, inevitable… unless I can convince her that the past shouldn’t end our future. ––––– Cliffhanger: No HEA: Yes Standalone: Yes Book 2 in a 3 book standalone series. ***Previously titled Stout: Men of Lovibond***

Rumors had it that he didn't like women, but in real life it was the contrary. He never considered marrying, especially to an American woman until he met Sonia. There was only one problem; Calvin met Sonia at her engagement party to his colleague and friend, Steven. The idea to make Sonia his wife becomes his calm but firm obsession, as since they first met, she had become of the center of Calvin's universe, the center of his ignited desire to have her and her only. One thing unknown to anyone who knew him, what Calvin wanted, Calvin got, as long as it did not get in the way of playing with his "toys". Calvin Stonebridge's secret life was bound to come to light and justice was lurking around the corner, but only if he couldnt avoid. Many tried and many failed in their attempt to find out about Calvin Stonebridges secret world, if indeed it existed. His remarkable talent to camouflage his actions made everyone involved question; is there anyone capable to bring the Delta Force's fearless former soldier to his knees? Maybe one person could and that person makes Calvin wonder about his future, if there is any.

Download or read book Her Neighbor s Wife written by Lauren Jae Gutterman and published by University of Pennsylvania Press. This book was released on 2019-10-04 with total page 328 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At first glance, Barbara Kalish fit the stereotype of a 1950s wife and mother. Married at eighteen, Barbara lived with her husband and two daughters in a California suburb, where she was president of the Parent-Teacher Association. At a PTA training conference in San Francisco, Barbara met Pearl, another PTA president who also had two children and happened to live only a few blocks away from her. To Barbara, Pearl was "the most gorgeous woman in the world," and the two began an affair that lasted over a decade. Through interviews, diaries, memoirs, and letters, Her Neighbor's Wife traces the stories of hundreds of women, like Barbara Kalish, who struggled to balance marriage and same-sex desire in the postwar United States. In doing so, Lauren Jae Gutterman draws our attention away from the postwar landscape of urban gay bars and into the homes of married women, who tended to engage in affairs with wives and mothers they met in the context of their daily lives: through work, at church, or in their neighborhoods. In the late 1960s and 1970s, the lesbian feminist movement and the no-fault divorce revolution transformed the lives of wives who desired women. Women could now choose to divorce their husbands in order to lead openly lesbian or bisexual lives; increasingly, however, these women were confronted by hostile state discrimination, typically in legal battles over child custody. Well into the 1980s, many women remained ambivalent about divorce and resistant to labeling themselves as lesbian, therefore complicating a simple interpretation of their lives and relationship choices. By revealing the extent to which marriage has historically permitted space for wives' relationships with other women, Her Neighbor's Wife calls into question the presumed straightness of traditional American marriage.

Book Lost Girl Found

Book excerpt: In war-torn Sudan, a girl must make heart-rending choices as she fights for survival and a chance at a future. “This short, quickly paced narrative will stay with readers for the rest of their lives.” School Library Journali, STARRED REVIEW “Moving and necessary.” Kirkus, STARRED REVIEW For Poni, life in her small village in southern Sudan is simple and complicated at the same time. Stay in school. Beat up any boy who tries to show attention. Watch out for the dangers in the river. But then the war comes. And when soldiers arrive in her village and bombs begin to rain from the sky, there is only one thing for Poni to do. Run. Poni runs for her life, and alongside thousands of refugees, she must then make a long, dusty trek across the east African countryside. Driven by the sheer will to survive, Poni finds her way to the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya, where she hopes to be reunited with her family. And if she is lucky, she will one day be able to convince the authorities that she is worthy to go to the land of opportunity. But the misery in Kakuma is almost overwhelming, and sooner than Poni could have imagined, she is on the run again. With single-minded determination, Poni survives hell and back, but she cannot escape the war’s devastating psychological effects or her survivor’s guilt. In a heartbreaking final twist, Poni finds her mother just as she is about to leave for America—forcing her to make the hardest decision of all.
