Book Holistic medicine in China learn to use Qigong acupressure and herbal remedies for natural healing

Download or read book Holistic medicine in China learn to use Qigong acupressure and herbal remedies for natural healing written by and published by jideon francisco marques. This book was released on 2023-12-30 with total page 273 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Introduction This book teaches a theory and practice of two natural healing methods used in China. Every branch of Chinese medicine is holistic, but there are countless beds of possible holistic interconnection. To achieve greater synergy, they must be integrated in accordance with the principles contained herein. So these methods are used with greater advantages in China, with some variations, as you can learn them Chapter 1 and everywhere PART 2. The book is presented in two distinct parts, more closely intertwined, and follows the guidance of many wise professors who have the privilege of knowing over decades of study. Two central ideas were repeatedly found and, some teachers embodied them as formulas in a different way, the essential meanings were always the same. The first central idea is “To learn any practice or discipline, you need both a solid intellectual understanding and a solid foundation in its practical application.” Everyone agrees that one's own practice (Qigong, Taiji, healing exercises, acupressure) or the application of the method (acupuncture, herbal medicine, food therapies) is the ultimate goal. Greater intellectual understanding may support greater practical ability, but it is valuable to the extent that it serves to promote that enterprise. If not, it may provide some interesting conversations, but it won't tangentially improve your health and life. A second central idea is “Mastery means mastery or basic.” Basic principles are the reason for theory and practice. A broad, solid foundation provides stability for quality construction and growth. Even if you choose to build only one base, that will be your base in any time of difficulty. PART 1, “Teorias Fundamentais da Medicina Chinesa”, presents the theoretical foundations of all Chinese medical science and philosophy. Embora is not as detailed as a medical book, it is quite extensive for two reasons. It provides the intellectual core necessary to understand and realize, and deeply familiarize the Western reader with a different way of seeing the world, from a Chinese perspective. The concepts and practices taught throughout this book arise from a cultural perspective and, if we want to learn to apply those practices in our daily lives, it will be necessary to make some effort to abandon our own cultural preconceits and see things with new eyes. The details in Part 1 are intended to facilitate that change in perception. A majority of PART 2, “Holistic Self-Care with Chinese Medicine,” carefully teaches the practical foundations of two Chinese holistic self-care methods using the principles learned in Part 1 and offers plenty of room to grow as you become more adept at each. Doing practices regularly is the most important thing and, in the final analysis, leads to the domain, giving you the simple, most valuable and effective options to assume or control your health in a variety of natural and holistic ways. These are methods that you can use forever and that greatly reduce the likelihood of needing to see any doctor, whether Chinese or Western.

Book excerpt: Qigong (pronounced "chee-gong") is an ancient Chinese health-care modality that has fascinated people throughout the millennia. Based on the fundamental principles of traditional Chinese medicine, Qigong is a system that teaches us to understand Qi, our bioelectric life force, and use it to heal ourselves and others. Qigong: Essence of the Healing Dance will give readers some of the basics of the outward "exercises" that are normally associated with the practice of Qigong, as well as detailing movements from such systems as Wuji Qigong, Bagua Xun Dao Gong and Shaolin Qigong. More than merely outlining these practices, this book will take readers on a journey of exploration into the essence of this fascinating, though little understood, healing practice. Masters from around the world—such as the ninety-two-year-old Duan Zhi Liang of Beijing, Canadian healer Effie Poy Yew Chow and American Jerry Johnson—contribute their personal insights into the wonders of Qigong. People from various walks of life, all of whom have achieved healing as a result of practicing Qigong, share their powerful experiences. Author Garri Garripoli, himself a practitioner of Qigong for the past twenty years, renders the book fascinating yet easy-to-read. He expertly guides readers on this once-in-a-lifetime journey, inspiring them to look deeper into healing in order to discover how to move beyond the standards and limitations of Western medicine. Qigong: Essence of the Healing Dance shows readers that we all carry within ourselves the ability to heal, and encourages them to tap into that innate gift and dance their own dance of life. Readers are sure to find this book fascinating, even life changing. It is a must-read for anyone intrigued by the mystique of ancient Eastern healing arts or seeking a daily practice that promotes and maintains full-body well-being.

Book The Body in Balance

Download or read book The Body in Balance written by Editors Of Prevention Magazine and published by Rodale Books. This book was released on 2018-09-25 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unlock connection with your body and harness the power of self-healing. A fifth-generation practitioner of medical qigong, Master FaXiang Hou has dedicated a lifetime of study to women’s health. Qigong is the traditional Chinese practice of low-impact body movement based on the ancient theory that the beneficial flow of energy—or “qi”—through the body restores vitality and regulates the functions of the mind, body, and breath. Drawing on centuries-old knowledge, the practice protects against disease and other complications that arise when the meridians through which energy flows are blocked. Qigong has had spectacular results in patients, eliminating the need for medication and surgery that Western doctors often recommend for concerns that are simply part of the natural stages of a woman’s life. This guide contains qigong exercises with photo instructions, as well as mindful breathing techniques, acupressure, herbal remedies, a seasonal fasting plan, and 50 delicious healing recipes, including Ma Po Tofu and Lotus Root and Asian Pear Stir-Fry. Master Hou teaches women at any stage in their lives how to manage their internal energy, awaken their own powers of self-healing, and gain insight into the deep connections within their bodies. Women seeking in natural solutions to sleeping soundly, strengthening the immune system, thriving during childbearing years, taking menopause in stride, and achieving overall wellness in their lives will find answers here.

Book Qigong for Health Vitality

Download or read book Qigong for Health Vitality written by Michael Tse and published by Macmillan. This book was released on 1996-01-15 with total page 148 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Qigong for Health and Vitality, Michael Tse, a Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) master trained by some of China's finest Qigong practitioners, explains the philosophy and practice of Qigong, a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine that combines breathing, posture, and movement to generate internal energy, restore health, and promote a sense of well-being. Qigong for Health and Vitality is the first truly accessible, introductory guide to this three-thousand-year-old for Chinese healing. Michael Tse now teaches in London, and is adept at presenting Qigong's "secrets" to a Western audience. In this book, he presents the background and philosophy of Qigong, detailing its amazing benefits for stress reduction and in the treatment of such chronic conditions as backache, hypertension, insomnia, asthma, arthritis, and headache. In clear text, and with the help of more than one hundred photographs, he provides step-by-step instructions for two types of Qigong exercises: those that improve balance, flexibility, strength, and circulation (especially good for anyone who sits all day in an office or car); and those that derive from tai chi chaun and are learned as a short "moving program" that increases internal energy (chi) and can be used to treat specific health problems. In addition, Michael Ise explains how to use special Qigong meditation exercises to relax and recharge the body's energy and to enhance its natural ability to heal itself. Qigong, as taught by Master Tse, is easy and fun to learn and will lead to immediate and long-lasting health benefits.

If there is one concept that comes up in all forms of Chinese medicine it is that of Qi, or vital energy. Qi is the very backbone of the Chinese healing arts. It refers to the energy of the universe that is channeled from nature and runs through all of us. To have Qi is to be alive, while to have none is to be dead. Qi Gong relies on the manipulation of this vital energy, and Qi Gong masters can see this energy. This book explores the basics of Qi Gong to create a guide for greater health, the Chinese way.
