Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The word 'accountability' is often used without much thought being given to what precisely it means. It is especially common in Christian circles, where there is frequent talk about being accountable to God, yet, still, without a clear grasp of this word. Accountability to God proposes, develops, and analyses two concepts of accountability as both a condition and a virtue. It also engineers these concepts to make them particularly apt for thinking about (1) accountability to God and (2) other relationships of accountability that exist under God. In its first part, the book builds a theological and general case for its particular views of accountability. In its second, it engages in the constructive work of developing a theology of accountability in relation to the doctrines of the Trinity, participation in Christ, the Fall, the fear of God, reconciliation, baptism, repentance, faith, and conversion. In developing this theology, Torrance interacts with a number of major theologians, such as the Apostle Paul, Augustine, Thomas Aquinas, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Karl Barth. He also extensively engages with contemporary work in analytic philosophy, systematic theology (including analytic theology), biblical studies, and psychology. By bringing a diverse range of scholarship into discussion, Accountability to God is the first book to focus specifically on what it means to be accountable to God. It thereby proposes a more positive, constructive, and theologically apt way to think about accountability.

Book The Future of Our Nation

  • Author : Alvin R. Ervin

Download or read book The Future of Our Nation written by Alvin R. Ervin and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2021-08-30 with total page 187 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is in the epistle form, written just as the Bible. When the apostles wrote letters to the various churches, those letters are epistles. Those epistles were not only written to those particular churches. They were also written to the entire body of Christ (the modern-day church today). This book is written in the same manner. It was written to a man of God whom I honored highly. He is no longer with us now. He was the president of Southwest Radio Church Ministries, but like all other epistles, it's also written to all churches, every person in this nation, and nations through the planet. It opens with my testimony with regard to how and when I became a Christian. It goes on support David Barton’s material entitled Our Godly American Heritage. It encourages godly people to obtain this material and all videos and books Mr. Barton’s ministry has to offer. I included excerpts from this particular video to whet the appetite of the people of the US and all readers of the book. David Barton brings forth information regarding our history. He issues statistics differentiating how things are currently after prayer is removed from all schools and life in this nation when prayer was prayed by our students at all levels, even our little ones. It made a great difference spiritually and in other ways in the lives of God's people. (I am reaching out to the president currently on Facebook with regard to this matter. See ARE Outreach Facebook and Alvin Ervin Facebook if you like). This book also supports Vaughn Shatzer’s material entitled A New World Disorder. He brings forth information regarding a new world order. We know this is in the work currently because President George H. W. Bush issued this statement to the American people in the late eighties, stating, “It is now time for a new world order.” President Bill Clinton allowed Vice President Al Gore to make a statement on his behalf from England, declaring, “What was written with a quill pen is now outdated, we need to reinvent government.” Our Constitution was written with a quill pen. There are those in this nation who are wanting to abolish it. But prayer is making a big difference. There are twenty-eight nations in Europe currently under one world currency. The book of Revelation reveals to us there will be one world order, meaning every nation on the planet will be under one world currency, one world military, and one world religion. But our prayer is that it does not occur until Christ raptures His church. This book concludes by informing God’s people in this nation as well as nations throughout the earth that Christ is coming soon to catch His Bride away through the Rapture. The Word of God says in First Thessalonians 4:16–17, For the lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord. God’s Word says in Matthew 24:32–35 that the generation that sees the fig tree take on its leaves shall not pass away until all things are fulfilled. The nation of Israel is the fig tree, and it took on her leaves in 1948 after lying dormant over two thousand years when the Roman general destroyed the Jewish Temple in AD 70. It discontinued the Jewish way of life. This book also concludes by teaching God’s people from the book of Revelation chapter 13 regarding the one world order.

Book A Nation Accountable Its DAY of the LORD

Download or read book A Nation Accountable Its DAY of the LORD written by James Tarter and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-07-09 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Day of the Lord on a nation is its just judgment by God: a nation's full accountability to the just and loving God for the nation's sins throughout its history. In the Bible, the Day of the Lord refers to God's just judgment of a nation far more often than to Jesus' return to earth (which also is a good meaning). The Bible shows many examples of His judgment of ancient nations as whole units. National judgments have continued through the centuries after Biblical times, but have become especially common in the last 80 years as nation after nation has come under atheistic communism or another dominating spiritual darkness. As with individuals, a nation that has sinned badly can be justly blessed by joining itself to the Lord Jesus and receiving His sacrifice for sinful mankind. This little book is written to show this vital picture in the Bible, so that believers in Jesus will turn to Him and hear Him accurately.

Book Five Foundations of Human Development

Download or read book Five Foundations of Human Development written by Errol A. Gibbs and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2006-10-01 with total page 616 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Five Foundations of Human Development (FFHD) "Is our Materially Driven Life a Threat to the 'Spiritual Purpose' of our Existence?" The book is a philosophical, religious and practical discourse on Five Foundations of Human Development. It offers compelling philosophical, analytical and empirical arguments for a better world, which is inherent in the worship of God, service to humanity, obedience to governing authorities and management of God's creation. The authors examine problems that we encounter daily, and they postulate solutions from Spiritual, moral, social, intellectual and physical perspectives. They essentially explore some of our past and present approaches to solutions to human problems. They propose new "revolutionary" approaches to human development that call the reader's attention to a new "enlightenment," new "hope" and new "optimism," informed by a new "Body of knowledge." The authors strive to explain the Christian message of God as delivered and taught by Jesus Christ, however it is not a work that is exclusively for Christians. Their discourse recognizes the comparable message and desire for the unity of humanity by other world religions. They present their discourse not as experts or giving expert advice, but simply as individuals with a desire to add another dimension of thought and enquiry to the vast storehouse of human knowledge. The primary purpose of their discourse is to demonstrate the positive benefits to humanity when Biblical (religious) perspectives underpin every human endeavor. These endeavors include (but are not limited to) family relations, national and international relations, engineering, science and technology, economics, history, education and health. These endeavors dictate human progress. Gibbs and Grey contend that humanity can realize the greater ideals of leadership and authority in the world through the application of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the great prophets. The authors appeal to leaders of the 21st century - educational, political, scientific, and business to seek the knowledge, wisdom and understanding of God in using our vast global "natural" wealth, science, technology and human capital to educe relevant and applicable strategies for the betterment of "all" humanity. Genre: (Christianity, Religion/Inspirational, Religion/Enlightenment & Philosophy (General)

Book God in Government

  • Release : 2010-08
  • ISBN : 1608446654
  • Pages : 172 pages

Download or read book God in Government written by Ray Harker and published by Dog Ear Publishing. This book was released on 2010-08 with total page 172 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Voting is an opportunity to promote, protect, and preserve godly government. Passing up this opportunity means allowing those who would degrade the name of Christ to have their way in our lives. The Bible is clear, "Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established" (Romans 13:1). Since the Bible commands that we are to submit to government, we must ask ourselves: to what type of government do we want to submit? God in Government compellingly answers this question and covers other related subjects - often from a historical perspective. The book's emphasis is on how and why the United States has gone from being a Christian nation to a culture of secular humanism. How events like the Industrial Revolution and the Great Depression continue to impact our worldview and the way we vote. The reader will discover the true differences between the political parties, and why groups like labor unions, school teachers, and the media tend to align themselves with a particular party. Among other topics, we examine the Christian roots of capitalism and the truth behind the "separation of church and state." The book covers social issues like legalized abortion, gay rights, and welfare programs; and gives solutions and suggestions as to what Christians can do to get our nation back on track. RAY HARKER is an ideological activist and founder of God in Government, a conservative grassroots movement for which this book is the manual. Both the organization and the book are designed to educate and assist Evangelical Christians in the areas of civic responsibility and political ideology. The outreach provides lectures and seminars for churches and other interested groups. To learn more, visit www.godgov.org.

Book Five Foundations of Human Development

Download or read book Five Foundations of Human Development written by Errol A. Gibbs and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-06-08 with total page 587 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Five Foundations of Human Development (FFHD) is a philosophical, religious, and practical discourse on human development based on the following five foundations: Spiritual, Moral, Social, Intellectual, and Physical. The authors proffer that human beings possess the capacity to rise to a higher state of civilization when we allow Spiritual Intelligence to underpin human intelligence as our capable guide. The indomitable spirit within human beings that brought civilization out of the Dark Ages and into an Age of Enlightenment demonstrates our capacity to transcend moral hope and optimism for a better world with peaceful coexistence among individuals, families, and nations. This book will help inform, enlighten, and empower individuals and leaders in such fields as engineering, science, religion, politics, the military, and other great institutions to engender solutions to the myriad of unsolved problems of past centuries, problems of the present, and emerging problems of the future. Problems, such as wars, genocide, greed, and the exploitation of human beings begin within our destructive spiritual nature and manifest in the physical nature. Therefore, solutions also lie in the spiritual realm as a counterbalance to the natural realm of human existence. FFHD is a blueprint for human survival based on adherence to physical laws and spiritual laws that transcend a belief in an omnipotent (all powerful), omnipresent (everywhere) and omniscient (all knowing) being. It will awaken the conscience to comprehend the lifethreatening issues that face humankind. The solutions, therefore, cannot merely be left only to the educated elite, the military forces, and those in high public and private office. The global significance of this book is that it informs a more communal view of our world. It is the only perspective that will allow us to enter the global village prepared for the racial, social, cultural, environmental, and economic challenges that lie ahead.
