The County Medical Examiner is accusing the hospital of a malpractice cover-up, while the doctors argue furiously over the many theories about what is happening. The Police Chief suspects foul play. The media and public have condemned the hospital and doctors. Harry Grouch and Judy Pacas rush to the rescue. They tour the laboratories, monitor surgery, stroll the patient units at 2 am, and befriend hospital staff to dig up the facts. It's up to them to figure out why patients are dying. Is it a mini-epidemic that, once understood, can be scientifically explained and controlled? Or is a creative killer using this newly discovered biological entity, this nanobe, as a murder weapon. And if it's murder, what's the motive, how is it being accomplished, and who are the suspects? All of this leads to a juicy, hospital-based detective thriller unlike any other on most library and bookstore crime shelves.

The presence of oil residue in the form of bitumen and pyrobitumen in all sediment-hosted ore bodies throughout the geological record is a testimony to their common diagenetic history. Studies of active hydrothermal systems reported in this book describe the processes and derivatives in these environments, linking hydrocarbon generation and mineral precipitation. A comparison with residual oil in many ore bodies and mineralization occurrences in the geological record, as depicted in this book, can be explained in terms of processes in active hydrothermal systems. One of the most interesting and challenging recent discoveries, that of living nano-bacteria, is reported in this book. The `nanobes', as they have recently been dubbed, have been suggested as the link between the living and non-living matter. The resemblance of these nano-organisms to fossil forms observed in a Martian meteorite have been reported recently in the media. Likewise the similarity to nano-bacteria in Archaean sediments is highlighted in two chapters of the book.

Some heart attacks may be due to hormonal effects, involving the hormone ouabain, and preventable with an extract of the herb strophanthus. 4. Many, or most North Americans suffer serious lack of nutrients: vitamin D, magnesium, and plant nutrients. The author challenges the medical establishment to examine their doctrines and learn how to help people suffering from nutritional diseases. Many technical terms are included. The non-scientific reader is asked to skip over these, to gain a useful knowledge of nutrition.
