Book Naive Bayes Algorithm for Twitter Sentiment Analysis and Its Implementation in MapReduce

Download or read book Naive Bayes Algorithm for Twitter Sentiment Analysis and Its Implementation in MapReduce written by Zhaoyu Li and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page 75 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Data has been growing exponentially in recent years. With the development of information highway, data can be generated and collected very fast, and the data is so large that it has exceeded the limit of our conventional processing methods and applications. The social network is one of many data explosion areas. Among all social network medias, Twitter has become one of the most important platforms to share and communicate with friends. Sentiment analysis aims to determine the attitude of a speaker or a writer with respect to some topic or the overall contextual polarity of a document, and the sentiment analysis on Twitter has also been used as a valid indicator of stock prices in the past. Naive Bayes is an algorithm to perform sentiment analysis. MapReduce programming model provides a simple and powerful model to implement distributed applications without having deeper knowledge of parallel programming. When a new hypothetical MapReduce sentiment analysis system is built to provide certain performance goal, we are lack of the benchmark and the traditional trial-and-error solution is extremely time-consuming and costly. In this thesis we implemented a prototype system using Naive Bayes to find the correlation between the geographical sentiment on Twitter and the stock price behavior of companies. Also we implemented the Naive Bayes sentiment analysis algorithm in MapReduce model based on Hadoop, and evaluated the algorithm on large amount of Twitter data with different metrics. Based on the evaluation results, we provided a comprehensive MapReduce performance prediction model for Naive Bayes based sentiment analysis algorithm. The prediction model can predict task execution performance within a window, and can also be used by other MapReduce systems as a benchmark in order to improve the performance.

Book Twitter Data Analysis Using Spark

Download or read book Twitter Data Analysis Using Spark written by Yash Bopardikar and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 86 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The idea is to solve people's dilemma for choosing a certain product or service over other. The objective is to collect data from tweeter feeds on trending topics like various OS, new technologies, different Products etc. and to categories them according to need. This Project would use Scala and Spark cluster. All the Big Data that would be fetched would be collected in MySQL database. Then using the MapReduce API's and Data Mining algorithms data will be classified accordingly. Here we would be using Naïve Bayes Algorithm for Sentimental analysis over the data. Twitter provides a streaming API to stream real time twitter data. This library named Twitter4j is available in python to access Streaming API and download twitter data. The filter on this data is based on a list of keywords supplied. This analysis will employee a distributed data processing system known as Apache Spark using several worker and master nodes. This cluster is scalable and can handle millions of records. To filter out the huge number of data we will use Map reduce technique on Spark. The input file will contain a JSON object for each tweet in data. This file will be uploaded on Spark frame structure. The Spark frame structure will have replicated the structure and distribute to multiple nodes, thus the mapper takes all files presented in the directory and classifies them according to the filter set. These filtered tweets will pass through the data mining algorithms and thus we could observe one to one comparison of data which would be helpful to take tough decisions.

Book Sentiment Analysis on Twitter Data Using Machine Learning

Download or read book Sentiment Analysis on Twitter Data Using Machine Learning written by Ravikumar Patel and published by . This book was released on 2017 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the world of social media people are more responsive towards product or certain events that are currently occurring. This response given by the user is in form of raw textual data (Semi Structured Data) in different languages and terms, which contains noise in data as well as critical information that encourage the analyst to discover knowledge and pattern from the dataset available. This is useful for decision making and taking strategic decision for the future market. To discover this unknown information from the linguistic data Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Data Mining techniques are most focused research terms used for sentiment analysis. In the derived approach the analysis on Twitter data to detect sentiment of the people throughout the world using machine learning techniques. Here the data set available for research is from Twitter for world cup Soccer 2014, held in Brazil. During this period, many people had given their opinion, emotion and attitude about the game, promotion, players. By filtering and analyzing the data using natural language processing techniques, and sentiment polarity has been calculated based on the emotion word detected in the user tweets. The data set is normalized to be used by machine learning algorithm and prepared using natural language processing techniques like Word Tokenization, Stemming and lemmatization, POS (Part of speech) Tagger, NER (Name Entity recognition) and parser to extract emotions for the textual data from each tweet. This approach is implemented using Python programming language and Natural Language Toolkit (NLTK), which is openly available for academic as well as for research purpose. Derived algorithm extracts emotional words using WordNet with its POS (Part-of-Speech) for the word in a sentence that has a meaning in current context, and is assigned sentiment polarity using 'SentWordNet' Dictionary or using lexicon based method. The resultant polarity assigned is further analyzed using Naïve Bayes and SVM (support vector Machine) machine learning algorithm and visualized data on WEKA platform. Finally, the goal is to compare both the results of implementation and prove the best approach for sentiment analysis on social media for semi structured data.

Book Data Mining for Tweet Sentiment Classification

Download or read book Data Mining for Tweet Sentiment Classification written by Roy de Groot and published by LAP Lambert Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2012 with total page 108 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The goal of this work is to classify short Twitter messages with respect to their sentiment using data mining techniques. Twitter messages, or tweets, are limited to 140 characters. This limitation makes it more difficult for people to express their sentiment and as a consequence, the classification of the sentiment will be more difficult as well. The sentiment can refer to two different types: emotions and opinions. This research is solely focused on the sentiment of opinions. These opinions can be divided into three classes: positive, neutral and negative. The tweets are then classified with an algorithm to one of those three classes. Known supervised learning algorithms as support vector machines and naive Bayes are used to create a prediction model. Before the prediction model can be created, the data has to be pre-processed from text to a fixed-length feature vector. The features consist of sentiment-words and frequently occurring words that are predictive for the sentiment. The learned model is then applied to a test set to validate the model.
