In this pseudo-science fiction reimagining of the Anunnaki myth, nothing could be farther from the truth. The Great Mother created the perfect woman in Her image on Venus, and the Great Father created a perfect man in His image on Mars. When the Great Father and Mother began feuding over their creations... a Gender War began that would alter the galaxy, and all life within it, forever! Regardless of who won the war, the new generation of Gods and Goddesses, led by the Adam and the Eve, would eventually separate themselves, taking rule of Venus and Mars- biding their time to conquer the Earth and it's new lifeforms in the name of their mighty Creator Parents. In the meantime, both sides are forming alliances with that of savage, cold-blooded extraterrestrial species, and desperate human factions, that are power hungry and starving to join the Intergalactic Council. There is unrest in the Cosmos, as since the day mankind was formed. Unlikely heroes will rise to calm the storm- led by a earthly heroine with a mysterious, and questionable, family tree.

This book was released on 2017-02-16 with total page 118 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, and the ones that follow for each of the other books in the Bible, is written for the purpose of providing a more in-depth understanding and knowledge of the Scriptures based upon the original text (language). This book is also for the purpose of teaching or reminding readers of the following facts about the Bible: • The Bible is a unified text in that its theme is carried out from Genesis to Revelation without contradiction in spite of the fact that it was written over a period of several hundred years by a number of different writers. • Each book, chapter, and verse hinges on the others; meaning none of the Bible can be isolated from the rest of it. The full meaning and ‘story’ is dependent on the whole text in order to be complete.

Book The Social World of Deuteronomy

Download or read book The Social World of Deuteronomy written by Don C Benjamin and published by James Clarke & Company. This book was released on 2017-04-27 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book of Deuteronomy is not an orphan. It belongs to a diverse family of legal traditions and cultures in the world of the Bible. The Social World of Deuteronomy: A New Feminist Commentary brings these traditions and cultures to life and uses them to enrich our understanding and appreciation of Deuteronomy today. Don C. Benjamin uses social-scientific criticism to reconstruct the social institutions where Deuteronomy developed, as well as those that appear in its traditions. He uses feministcriticism to better understand and appreciate how powerful elite males in Deuteronomy view not only the women, daughters, mothers, wives and widows in their households but also their powerless children, liminal people, slaves, prisoners, outsiders, livestock and nature. Through the lens of feminist theory, Benjamin explores important aspects of the daily lives of these often overlooked peoples in ancient Israel.

Book Intimate Partner Violence in the Black Church

Download or read book Intimate Partner Violence in the Black Church written by Carlos Jermaine Richard and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2017-07-07 with total page 157 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) or Domestic Violence (DV) continues to be a perennial issue in the Black church and Christendom as a whole. Women in the church continue to experience violence at increased rates, but leadership has been delayed in providing a meaningful response to IPV as families experience the turmoil of abuse. Further, more and more children suffer from the trauma of family violence that perpetuates as males, who witness IPV, have a greater susceptibility of becoming abusers and females, who witness abuse, are put in risk of choosing abusers in relationships. The church must now become the leading change agent in the struggle to reduce and end family violence by addressing the heart of the issue, the pulpit, namely male leaders in the church who abuse their wives and hide behind the scripture text. The church must expose the biblical truth regarding marriage and relationships and embed policy within the by-laws of the church that provide victims and survivors with opportunities for confidential reporting, resources when they are ready to leave, and on-going support for women who desire to transition from abuse to survivorship.

Book Liquid Scripture

  • Author : Jeffrey S. Siker
  • Publisher : Fortress Press
  • Release : 2017-09-01

  • Pages : 317 pages

Download or read book Liquid Scripture written by Jeffrey S. Siker and published by Fortress Press. This book was released on 2017-09-01 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The electronic Bible is here to stay‒‒packaged in software on personal computers, available as apps on tablets and cell phones. Increasingly, students look at glowing screens to consult the Bible in class, and congregants do the same in Bible study and worship. Jeffrey S. Siker asks, what difference does it make to our experience of Scripture if we no longer hold a book in our hands, if we again “scroll” through Scripture? How does the “flow” of electronic Scripture change our perception of the Bible’s authority and significance? Siker discusses the difference made when early Christians adopted the codex rather than the scroll and Gutenberg began the mass production of printed Bibles. He also reviews the latest research on how the reading brain processes digital texts and how churches use digital Bibles, including American Bible Society research and his own surveys of church leaders. Siker asks, does the proliferation of electronic translations reduce the perceived seriousness of Scripture? Does it promote an individualistic response to the Bible? How does the change from a physical Bible affect liturgical practice? His synthesis of the advantages and risks of the digitized Bible merit serious reflection in classrooms and churches alike.

Book The Dynamics of Dream Vision Revelation in the Aramaic Dead Sea Scrolls

Download or read book The Dynamics of Dream Vision Revelation in the Aramaic Dead Sea Scrolls written by Andrew B. Perrin and published by Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht. This book was released on 2015-08-19 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Among the predominantly Hebrew collection of the Dead Sea Scrolls are twenty-nine compositions penned in Aramaic. While such Aramaic writings were received at Qumran, these materials likely originated in times before, and locales beyond, the Qumran community. In view of their unknown past and provenance, this volume contributes to the ongoing debate over whether the Aramaic texts are a cohesive corpus or accidental anthology. Paramount among the literary topoi that hint at an inherent unity in the group is the pervasive usage of the dream-vision in a constellation of at least twenty writings. Andrew B. Perrin demonstrates that the literary convention of the dream-vision was deployed using a shared linguistic stock to introduce a closely defined set of concerns. Part One maps out the major compositional patterns of dream-vision episodes across the collection. Special attention is paid to recurring literary-philological features (e.g., motifs, images, phrases, and idioms), which suggest that pairs or clusters of texts are affiliated intertextually, tradition-historically, or originated in closely related scribal circles. Part Two articulates three predominant concerns advanced or addressed by dream-vision revelation. The authors of the Aramaic texts strategically employed dream-visions (i) for scriptural exegesis of the antediluvian/patriarchal traditions, (ii) to endorse particular understandings of the origins and functions of the priesthood, and (iii) as an ex eventu historiographical mechanism for revealing aspects or all of world history. These findings are shown to give fresh perspective on issues of revelatory discourses in Second Temple Judaism, the origins and evolution of apocalyptic literature, the ancient context of the book of Daniel, and the social location of the Aramaic Dead Sea Scrolls.
