Book Creating the Soul Body

Download or read book Creating the Soul Body written by Robert E. Cox and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2008-04-18 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Outlines the principles and mechanics of the soul body, the spiritual vehicle that enables individual consciousness to survive the body’s death • Shows that the ancient Vedic, Egyptian, Hebraic, and Pythagorean traditions shared and understood this spiritual practice • Reveals modern science as only now awakening to this ancient sacred science Ancient peoples the world over understood that individual consciousness is rooted in a universal field of consciousness and is therefore eternal, surviving the passing of the physical body. They engaged in spiritual practices to make that transition maximally auspicious. These practices can be described as a kind of alchemy, in which base elements are discarded and higher levels of consciousness are realized. The result is the creation of a vehicle, a soul body, that carries consciousness beyond physical death. These spiritual preparations are symbolized in the Vedic, Egyptian, and Hebraic traditions as a divine stairway or ladder, a step-by-step path of ascent in which the practitioner raises consciousness by degrees until it comes to rest in the bosom of the infinite, thereby becoming “immortal.” This spiritual process explains the reincarnation of the Dalai Lama, for example, whose reincarnation is confirmed in infancy through physical and spiritual signs, indicating that the consciousness has been carried from one lifetime to the next. In Creating the Soul Body, Robert Cox maps the spiritual journey of consciousness behind this sacred science of immortality and reveals the practice of creating a soul body in detail. He also shows that this ancient spiritual science resembles advanced theories of modern science, such as wave and particle theory and the unified field theory, and reveals that modern science is only now awakening to this ancient science of “immortality.”

Writing in a style that is both lucid and charming, mischievous and profound, Dr. Amit Goswami uses the language and concepts of quantum physics to explore and scientifically prove metaphysical theories of reincarnation and immortality. In Physics of the Soul, Goswami helps readers understand the perplexities of the quantum physics model of reality and the perennial beliefs of spiritual and religious traditions. He shows how they are not only compatible but also provide essential support for each other. • Author : Steven Nadler
  • Publisher : Clarendon Press

  • ISBN : 0191529974
  • Pages : 246 pages

Download or read book Spinoza s Heresy written by Steven Nadler and published by Clarendon Press. This book was released on 2001-12-06 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the heart of Spinoza's Heresy is a mystery: why was Baruch Spinoza so harshly excommunicated from the Amsterdam Jewish community at the age of twenty-four? In this philosophical sequel to his acclaimed, award-winning biography of the seventeenth-century thinker, Steven Nadler argues that Spinoza's main offence was a denial of the immortality of the soul. But this only deepens the mystery. For there is no specific Jewish dogma regarding immortality: there is nothing that a Jew is required to believe about the soul and the afterlife. It was, however, for various religious, historical and political reasons, simply the wrong issue to pick on in Amsterdam in the 1650s. After considering the nature of the ban, or cherem, as a disciplinary tool in the Sephardic community, and a number of possible explanations for Spinoza's ban, Nadler turns to the variety of traditions in Jewish religious thought on the postmortem fate of a person's soul. This is followed by an examination of Spinoza's own views on the eternity of the mind and the role that that the denial of personal immortality plays in his overall philosophical project. Nadler argues that Spinoza's beliefs were not only an outgrowth of his own metaphysical principles, but also a culmination of an intellectualist trend in Jewish rationalism.

Book The Immortal in You

  • Author : Michael Augros
  • Publisher : Ignatius Press
  • Release : 2017-08-04

Download or read book The Immortal in You written by Michael Augros and published by Ignatius Press. This book was released on 2017-08-04 with total page 330 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many scientists and philosophers believe that you are no more than a machine. By their account there is no afterlife and you are no better than any other kind of animal. The existence of mankind, according to such thinkers, is purely the outcome of chance events. There never was any tendency, natural or supernatural, to produce life and the human mind. The universe is hostile or indifferent toward you, and you occupy no special place within it. At the heart of this story of mankind lies not science but a rarely expressed philosophical assumption that modern science, at least in principle, tells all there is to know about you and the world. With his unique blend of cogency, clarity, and charm, philosopher Michael Augros hauls that assumption out into the light and demolishes it. The Immortal in You demonstrates how an astute use of common sense and a study of common human experience reveal that there is more to you—much more—than science could possibly say. From the author of Who Designed the Designer?, this modern response to the ancient exhortation “Know thyself” delivers a wealth of fresh, powerful, and uplifting ideas about what it is to be human, which will engage thoughtful readers regardless of their beliefs.

Book Is the Soul Immortal

    Book Details:
  • Author : Daniel Ritivoiu
  • Publisher :
  • Release : 2021-01-09
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 145 pages

Download or read book Is the Soul Immortal written by Daniel Ritivoiu and published by . This book was released on 2021-01-09 with total page 145 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: God, in His providence, has chosen a man through whom to transmit to the generations, the origin of life on this earth. Through Moses the fundamental history was revealed, about who we are, how we got here, why things are so bad and yet there is hope for regaining the original plan. All these are clearly found in the book of Genesis and form the root of our existence. Through Moses was revealed, the panorama of the great struggle between Satan and the Creator. Between Moses and John, the beloved disciple, about 38 authors wrote the word of God. Through John, we have the Revelation, showing the last events of the tragedy sin produced. If we move the complete report of Scripture aside, we will feel we are in the darkness of the many dogmas, traditions, myths, superstitions, non-Christian religions, or evolutionary theories that lack logic. The Christian is called to reason and to filter all that contradicts the divine source, the Bible. Therefore, in order to find an answer to the question on the front cover, "Is the soul immortal?" we will use this source. We have tens and even hundreds of references regarding this subject, which are often ignored. Its advocates are more willing to cut out from the Bible the innumerable clear declarations that the souls of humans are mortal than to give up an idea that comes from outside the Bible. It is true that people were created to live eternally. However, sin interfered with the condition for retaining immortality. For this reason, Plan B had to be set in motion. Through the death of the only One who has eternal life, a way of recovering immortality was opened. Life, time, and talents do not belong to us. They are the master's wealth. [ Matthew 25: 14,15 ] Limited portions are given to us. No one has received an unlimited number of talents. The Master first wanted to see what would be done with the talents given during this life. We cannot claim that we were given an immortal soul, when our lives, time, and talents are given to us temporarily. The way in which we use this short life, our members and given aptitudes will constitute the test required in order to receive eternal life. In order to obtain eternal life, a single thing is needed: "And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent" (John 17:3).

Book Descartes on the Human Soul

Download or read book Descartes on the Human Soul written by C.F. Fowler and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author's aim of providing an understanding of the development, content and presentation of two aspects of Descartes' philosophy of the human soul - immortality and body-soul union - has been achieved and executed with rigour, scholarship and philosophical acuity. Fowler combines close textual analysis with a consideration of the philosophical arguments and the theological background against which these arguments were developed. This contextual approach enables him to provide new insights into the nature of Descartes' philosophy, and indeed of early modern philosophy more generally. Despite the massive scholarly documentation, this finely structured and clearly written study is eminently readable. The work is a significant contribution to the world of Cartesian scholarship which professors and graduate students of Descartes, as well as the world's libraries, must have.
