Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The al-Aqsa Mosque -Historic Incidents A Miracle indeed! Prophet Mohammed first talked about al-Aqsa Mosque as 'Miraj 'incident in his Night Journey episode; a vision of the journey revealed there in 622CE [Quran CH 17; Sura Isra]. The incident introduced revelation about the "Farthest Mosque (Al-Masjid-ul-Aqsa) to the believers, the mosque was built 55 years after the death of Muhammad. It is utterly impossible that Muhammad visited the mosque on his Night Journey. When the Arabs conquered Jerusalem in 637CE, they found the Temple Mount abandoned and filled with refuse. `Umar Ibne Khattab ordered it cleaned and he performed a prayer there. The two Islamic shrines were built afterwards; (1) The Dome of the Rock built by Caliph `Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan around 72/691 CE, and (2) The al-Aqsa mosque proper, built at the end of the 7th Century. Re-cap: The Temple of Solomon had been completely destroyed in 70 AD/CE; Prophet Mohammed's Miraj (Night Journey) occurred in 622 AD (twelfth year of Muhammad's mission); Mohammed died in 633CE. Jerusalem conquered by Arabs in 637CE, in 691 AD Caliph Abd' Malik began building two Islamic shrines (Dome of Rock and al-Aqsa mosque). Solomon's Temple didn't existed at the dawn of Islam, and it does not provide anymore any better solution to mosque problem. Additionally, at around 622 CE, Jerusalem was not in the hand of the Muslims reign, rather it was in Christian hand. There was no Mosque of any type in that place (not even a church). The Dome of the Rock and the Al Aqsa Mosque (both are on the site of Solomon's Temple which had been destroyed A.D. 70 by the Romans). Mohammed died approximately 600 years afterwards, building of the above two shrines were resumed roughly 53 years after the death of Muhammad. That's a recorded history Muslims in general feel proud of.

Download or read book Jerusalem Points of Friction And Beyond written by Moshe Ma'oz and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2021-08-04 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The material in this publication was compiled over an 18-month period and includes a variety of local, national and international issues and disaggregating Jerusalem's intricate problems. It offers meaningful models that even though they may not yield solutions acceptable to all parties in the Israeli - Palestine conflict, will at least clearly demarcate common ground and draw the 'red lines' that may not (yet) be crossed. The result is an enormously valuable resource that cannot fail to attract the attention of anyone concerned with the future of the Mideast region.

Book excerpt: The Islamic Journal begins with a historical background of Islamic society and how it developed and then went on to develop the rest of the world, Islamic society didn't simply advance scientifically excelling above other societies it gave the world the social, legal and moral tools needed to create the modern world. The Journal then covers the topics relating to the Islamic science of Tassawwuf at the heart of everything Islamic. It came about as a result of a book I was writing called “The Knowledge Behind The Terminology and Concepts in Tassawwuf and It’s Origin”, the title is as descriptive as possible because the book was written in the same style as classical islamic texts, a single document without any chapter’s, as they were a later invention which hindered the flow of the book. The Journal, which is written sequentially, covers a wide range of related topics in a much deeper scope, from the history of Islamic civilisation and how it developed as a result of it’s practices to the prophets understanding of Space and the Universe and how Allah used them as an example to teach man about his self. Book Islam Jews and the Temple Mount

Download or read book Islam Jews and the Temple Mount written by Yitzhak Reiter and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-07-09 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This study presents the first comprehensive survey of the abundant early Islamic sources that recognize the historical Jewish bond to the Temple Mount (Masjid al-Aqsa) and Jerusalem. Analyzing these sources in light of the views of contemporary Muslim religious scholars, thinkers and writers, who – in the context of the Arab-Israeli conflict – deny any Jewish ties to the Temple Mount and promote the argument that no Jewish Temple ever stood on the Temple Mount. The book describes how this process of denying Jewish ties to the site has become the cultural rationale for UNESCO decisions in recent years regarding holy sites in Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Hebron, which use Muslim Arabic terminology and overlook the Jewish (and Christian) history and sanctification of these sites. Denying the Jewish ties to the Temple Mount for political purposes inadvertently undermines the legitimacy of Islam’s sanctification of Al-Aqsa and the Dome of the Rock as well as the credibility of the most important sources in Arabic, which constitute the classics of Islam and provide the foundation for its culture and identity. Identifying and presenting the Jewish sources in the Bible, Babylonian Talmud and exegesis on which these Islamic traditions are based, this volume is a key resource for readers interested in Islam, Judaism, religion and political science and history in the Middle East.

Book These Chains Will Be Broken

Download or read book These Chains Will Be Broken written by Ramzy Baroud and published by SCB Distributors. This book was released on 2019-11-29 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Ramzy Baroud's book of Palestinian prisoners' stories is a remarkable work. With each story, there is a roll-call of the best of humanity. courage, struggle, determination, generosity, passion, humility .. Everyone should read this searing and beautiful book." JOHN PILGER “... you will delve into the lives of men and women, read intimate stories that they have chosen to share with you, stories that may surprise you, anger you and even shock you. But they are crucial stories that must be told, read and retold." KHALIDA JARRAR, Palestine Legislative Council "The rationale for Palestinian resistance is heightened by having law and morality on the side of demands for an end to the oppressive Israeli occupation and the persistent abuse of fundamental Palestinian rights...." RICHARD FALK, former UN Special Rapporteur, Prof. Emeritus, Princeton Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have experienced life in Israel's prisons since 1967, as did many more in previous decades during the course of the ongoing Israeli military occupation. Yet rarely has the story of their experiences in Israeli jails been told by the prisoners themselves. Typically the Western media portrays them as ‘terrorists’ while well-meaning third-party human rights advocates paint them as hapless victims. They are neither. This book permits the reader to access the reality of Palestinian imprisonment as told by Palestinian prisoners themselves -- stories of appalling suffering and determination to reclaim their freedom. The stories in this book are not meant to serve as an account of Israeli torture methods. Instead, each story highlights a distinct experience -- each so personal, so profound -- in order to underline the humanity of those who are constantly dehumanized by Israeli hasbara and the mainstream corporate media’s biased accounts.. Palestinian prisoners are an essential element in the collective resistance against Israeli colonialism, apartheid and military occupation. Rather than being viewed as unfortunate victims, their steadfastness exemplifies the ongoing fight of the Palestinian people as a whole. In reality, all Palestinians living under Israeli occupation and siege are also prisoners. The Gaza Strip is often referred to as the “world’s largest open-air prison.” It is in this context that this book becomes an essential read
