You will read about the many miracles that God unfolded in her life, how she endured surviving from living from pillow-to-post, overcame sickness that was detrimental from a month’s stay in the hospital, and, moving from one apartment to another, survived the rejection of most of her immediate family members. Her story will provide encouragement as you read some of the many stories of how she never lost sight or gave up on God and provide insight into who Pastor Dunn is and who she represents without hearsay or meeting her in person. Book Life Is in the Transitions

Download or read book Life Is in the Transitions written by Bruce Feiler and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2020-07-14 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A New York Times bestseller! A pioneering and timely study of how to navigate life's biggest transitions with meaning, purpose, and skill Bruce Feiler, author of the New York Times bestsellers The Secrets of Happy Families and Council of Dads, has long explored the stories that give our lives meaning. Galvanized by a personal crisis, he spent the last few years crisscrossing the country, collecting hundreds of life stories in all fifty states from Americans who’d been through major life changes—from losing jobs to losing loved ones; from changing careers to changing relationships; from getting sober to getting healthy to simply looking for a fresh start. He then spent a year coding these stories, identifying patterns and takeaways that can help all of us survive and thrive in times of change. What Feiler discovered was a world in which transitions are becoming more plentiful and mastering the skills to manage them is more urgent for all of us. The idea that we’ll have one job, one relationship, one source of happiness is hopelessly outdated. We all feel unnerved by this upheaval. We’re concerned that our lives are not what we expected, that we’ve veered off course, living life out of order. But we’re not alone. Life Is in the Transitions introduces the fresh, illuminating vision of the nonlinear life, in which each of us faces dozens of disruptors. One in ten of those becomes what Feiler calls a lifequake, a massive change that leads to a life transition. The average length of these transitions is five years. The upshot: We all spend half our lives in this unsettled state. You or someone you know is going through one now. The most exciting thing Feiler identified is a powerful new tool kit for navigating these pivotal times. Drawing on his extraordinary trove of insights, he lays out specific strategies each of us can use to reimagine and rebuild our lives, often stronger than before. From a master storyteller with an essential message, Life Is in the Transitions can move readers of any age to think deeply about times of change and how to transform them into periods of creativity and growth.

Book A Smile within the Pain the Story of My Life

Download or read book A Smile within the Pain the Story of My Life written by Kormassah Jallah Webs and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-02-09 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is my life story that I want to share with other women. My life was not as it seems because it had some unpleasant moments, and those unexpected experiences are individualized. Nobody prepares you for the incredible adventures of life, but you learn along the way. Pain is that internal suffering that only you can experience. Only you can rate its severity, which can put you in that position of smiling with a pleased, kind, or amused facial expression to cover the pain. We all have life experiences, whether from loved ones or acquaintances, that have left us messy and broken. A smile within the pain is a life that has been filled with pain and sorrow that kept me hostage, crippled for years. It is a life that forces me to grow and develop. I am this girl who was beaten on every side, broken beyond repair, and raped of her innocence; and all I would do was to smile in my pain as a cover-up. She had dreams growing up, but this world of uncertainty came and redirected her path. She's that teenager who gave birth twice with a future that was clouded with fear, hopelessness, insecurity, and doubts. She is that girl wandering in the wilderness for years because it was so dark, but then God came and rescued her. When she thought all hope was gone, the God of resurrection came knocking at the door of her heart, and she opened it with no hesitation. I can hear a knock from Jesus on the door of your heart. Please open it so he can repair it. Just say this with me, "Even though I have been raped on every side, I will not allow fear, insecurity, and doubts to rape my future or my divine destiny away." He turned her disgrace into grace, her pain into joy, and her sorrow into dancing. I want you to know that if God can clothe my nakedness and bring me back on track, he can also do it for you. There is no brokenness or mess that God cannot fix. Regardless of how messy or broken you are, give God a chance, and everything will be right again. Be courageous, stand firm, and see the salvation of the Lord in your life.

The youngest of fourteen children, Vlchek was born to peasant parents in Budyn, southern Bohemia, in 1871. After attempting a career in blacksmithing in Bohemia, at the age of seventeen he decided to follow his two older sisters to Cleveland, home to America's second-largest Czech community. Vlchek worked a variety of unsatisfactory jobs during his first years in Cleveland. In 1895 he opened his own smithing operation, which after a long struggle was transformed into a successful corporation that specialized in the manufacture of toolkits for automobiles. acquisitions, and the successes and travails of his operation. Vlchek was often able to travel home to Czechoslovakia, and during those trips he noted the different cultural and political attitudes that had evolved between Czechs and their Czech American cousins. Vlchek's memoir provides a rare primary source about Czech immigrants. It also offers insight into a self-made man's life philosophy, illustrates relations between ethnic groups in Cleveland during the 1880s, and demonstrates the assimilation of a late-nineteenth-century immigrant in America. Readers interested in immigration history as well as the history of Cleveland will enjoy this fascinating autobiography.

Book excerpt: The Story of My Life is an inspiring autobiographical account of one of the best-known 19th-century German novelists. The autobiography carries the reader from 1837, the year of the author's birth in Berlin, to 1863, when his first novel, An Egyptian Princess, was finished. In this captivating account, Ebers has told the story of his growth from childhood to maturity, when the loss of his health forced the turbulent student to lead a quieter life, and inclination led him to begin his Egyptian studies, which, as we know today, resulted, first of all, in the writing of An Egyptian Princess, then in his travels in the land of the Pharaohs and the discovery of the Ebers Papyrus, the treatise on medicine dating from the second century BC, and finally in the series of brilliant historical novels set in the ancient Egypt times.

Book My Life Story

Book excerpt: Narcisa Lecușanu provides valuable insight into what it takes to achieve long-term success and influence in the sports world. First as a player, where she excelled on both the domestic and international level, then in leadership roles at the European Handball Federation and within Romania, and now as a member of the IHF Executive Committee. Her contributions to handball are numerous including aiding the development of women’s handball as Chairwoman of the IHF's Women’s Handball and Gender Equality Working Group and promoting handball to children in her home country. I appreciate her unmatched passion for handball. She is a role model and her story will definitely inspire you. Dr. Hassan Moustafa, President of International Handball Federation Narcisa Lecușanu stands for personal development and success through sport, of which the practice of sport is life changing. With dedication and passionate engagement, the ritualistic actions of the athlete evolve, as they move through the levels from novice to expert, and as handball permeates their very essence, it results in a life’s work. For decades, I have witnessed the talent of Narcisa Lecușanu on the handball court, and a commitment to the sport that supported the drive and determination through her service to handball in Romania, the enthusiasm brought to the Women’s Handball Board within the European Handball Federation, and most recently to the Executive Committee of the International Handball Federation. To experience the transformation of Narcisa Lecușanu through her eyes is an opportunity for those wanting to stoke the fires of ambition, because her story is not over; as we read this book to absorb where Narcisa has come from, we can clearly imagine where she will go in the future.” Michael Wiederer, President of European Handball Federation Narcisa Lecușanu, the leader of Romanian handball, is outstanding through her native qualities and through a continuous tenacity throughout the long and difficult performance sport journey. [...] Until my departure from the Romanian Handball Federation, I continued my collaboration with Narcisa and supported her, seeing in her the future president of the Romanian Handball Federation. Ing. Cristian Gațu, Honorary President of RHF Narcisa Lecușanu’s personality is, equally, difficult and pleasant to analyze, first of all because she was and remained a star in a world of sports in which success and failure guide the opinions of those specialized and of the public. Prof. Adrian Dragnea I understood what alog way she came. Huge efforts to get over all the slag here, the need for home, the desire for success while speaking the same language. All combined. Narcisa was great for me only when I saw through her the very clear horizon, after so many storms. Radu Naum If I were a painter and wanted to be in a self-portrait, I would focus on what is beyond my face. I would avoid any touch that expresses frustration and I would render, in serene colors, the positive attitude, the optimistic projection of some situations that I anticipate, the tenacity, the resistance to long effort, the care not to lose the reins of modesty… And the gaze would necessarily look up, as a sign of giving thanks to God. Narcisa Lecușanu There are people who, once they come into your life, remain in your soul forever. Narcisa is one of those people for whom I thank God that I met them. We met when she was a teenager and I became a young adult, on the national team. That seriousness, ambition and that noble simplicity, of a fine person made me love her from the very beginning and feel like a younger sister. We grew up, we evolved from a sports and professional point of view, but she remained the same noble and nice man, directly proportional to the success of her impeccable career as a handball player. Every victory she won made me proud of her, proud to know her. Florentina Carcadia
