Book excerpt: From A to Z: Feed Your Soul and Lose The Weight by Leanna Burns. This book is about bringing the physical and the metaphysical together. To feed each one the nourishment it needs so neither is neglected. The physical is your body, which in this case may have been overfed and under exercised, which certainly qualifies as neglect. The metaphysical is your soul. If you never recognize it, then you have been underfeeding it and neglecting it. The purpose of this book is to feed both the proper nourishment in the proper amounts. The concept is a simple one. In fact all of the concepts or lessons in this book are simple. It's only in the process of getting your soul in a healthy state that your body will also arrive at a healthy state. You may be wondering if this is a convenient time for you to take a journey to a healthy lifestyle. Give thanks to your soul and the universe at this very moment. It is because of them that you are here, reading this book.

Book My Life in the Fish Tank

Download or read book My Life in the Fish Tank written by Barbara Dee and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2020-09-15 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the acclaimed author of Maybe He Just Likes You and Halfway Normal comes a “compassionate…touching” (Donna Gephart, award-winning author of The Paris Project) and powerful story of learning how to grow, change, and survive. When twelve-year-old Zinnia Manning’s older brother Gabriel is diagnosed with a mental illness, the family’s world is turned upside down. Mom and Dad want Zinny, her sixteen-year-old sister, Scarlett, and her eight-year-old brother, Aiden, to keep Gabriel’s condition “private”—and to Zinny that sounds the same as “secret.” Which means she can’t talk about it with her two best friends, who don’t understand why Zinny keeps pushing them away, turning everything into a joke. It also means she can’t talk about it during Lunch Club, a group run by the school guidance counselor. How did Zinny get stuck in this weird club, anyway? She certainly doesn’t have anything in common with these kids—and even if she did, she’d never betray her family’s secret. The only good thing about school is science class, where cool teacher Ms. Molina has them doing experiments on crayfish. And when Zinny has the chance to attend a dream marine biology camp for the summer, she doesn’t know what to do. How can Zinny move forward when Gabriel—and, really, her whole family—still needs her help?

Book Praying for Forgiveness from A Z

Download or read book Praying for Forgiveness from A Z written by Fay Gunter and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-10-27 with total page 169 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sin. Its such a common word, especially in the Christian culture. Even though its a little word in the dictionary, its a very big word in our lives and how God views us as a people. Each and every person who has ever lived on earth, except for Jesus Christ, has sinned. We are all born into sin. Although our human nature doesnt like to consider ourselves as sinners and we often struggle with calling ourselves sinners, its a fact of life that we cant ignore. What do we do about sin? Do we try to deny or hide from the fact that we sin? Do we admit to ourselves that we sin? Do we look on our sins as not so bad compared to other peoples? Do we feel guilty about our sin or only regret the sin when weve been caught? Do we enjoy the sin and not want to give it up? Do we think of sin as really bad or just what everyone does, and its a part of life? Merriam-Websters Dictionary calls sin reprehensible. If a dictionary gives the meaning of sin as something so horrible sounding, what in the world does our God who is Holy, think about sin? Has our prayer life become stagnant because of our sin? Can we actually separate ourselves from a loving Father because of our sin? Even when Christ lives in us and His blood has washed away our sin, we still sin and will until the day we pass from this earth. How do we draw closer to God when we know that we have sinned and havent repented?

After an experimental process brings him back from the dead as a zombiebot, he gets the chance to find out. Heather Logan’s latest process uses nanobots to reanimate a corpse. Half robot, half something raised from the dead, Chris is her first successful resuscitation. Questions abound. What is it? Is it truly alive, a machine, or some kind of zombie-hybrid? But someone wants to steal Heather’s secret process and put her out of the picture permanently. Chris, with his new superpowers, is the only thing standing between Heather and an assassin’s bullet. Is he enough of a hero to save her?
