Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Truckers Nightmare enters a darker side of the events that take place in the trucking world. Things can change so drastically without a moments notice. The simple task of delivering a load to a customer could very quickly turn into a series of events where one could possibly be facing his own demise. The events in these stories are about the lives, hardships, and unexpected, life changing circumstances that occur, in the lonely life of a driver out on the road. The fatigue, the stress, and the insanity that can consume the very life and can even go as far as to destroy one's family are written in these pages. The long hours, unexpected break downs, delays, and time away from home, along with the lonely nights and even longer days, test the men and women, bringing them to a point, in many cases of no return. Many of them allow the insanity that consumes them to run rampant in their lives, while others become victims of circumstances, unaware of the consequences involved. Others become victims of their environment, not being able to have a say in what happens to them. The stories in this series are each written with its own unexpected story line and twists to throw the reader off.

Download or read book Stories from a Female Trucker written by Patty Adams and published by Patty Adams . This book was released on with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Trucking in the 80s was a rough and tumble boys only industry that wasn't accustomed to women drivers. If a woman drove professionally, she was part of a team, usually with her husband or boyfriend. Trucking companies were leery of hiring women, and often we were seen as something far less than drivers. This is my story of being a solo female trucker, my struggles and making it through. I love this industry and would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

Book excerpt: I am the Mother of three sons and a daughter, six grandsons and one great granddaughter. For many years I have been married to an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God. In our pastoral ministry we have seen God heal and restore numerous times. About 14 years ago my husband Jerry and I moved to Brookport, Illinois to retire. Our thoughts were on travel and spending time with our married children and grandchildren. We never dreamed our lives would take the turn it has taken. Jerry and I fell in love and married at a young age. God has had His hand on us from the very beginning. In this book, I open my heart and share my life before marriage, funny things that happened raising our children and also the times I had to stand and watch as my husband lay at the point of death. In 2006 our world was forever changed when Jerry was injured with a severe brain injury, in a motorcycle accident. I bear my soul and tell how I had reached the point where I wanted to die, but God in His omnipotent way picked me up and hung on to me when I couldn't hang on any longer. Evidently, God was not finished with us. He has been so faithful and I hope you can feel His power and presence as you read my story.
