Book excerpt: 'Raising your consciousness to the 'God Winks' that often go by unnoticed, and recognising them as tremendously personal, will affirm that your existence is not random and that you have a role to play in life's grand plan' Squire Rushnell Have you ever thought about someone who hasn't crossed your path or mind in years and then bumped into them? Are there such things as coincidences? Do they mean anything? According to Rushnell, 'coincidences, like winks from God, are encouraging signposts along your universal path.' In WHEN GOD WINKS he explains that a 'God Wink' is a message of reassurance that comes our way whenever we need it and that coincidences are the best way for God to establish a presence in our lives. Rushnell shows how to retrace crossroads (a new job, a death, change in relationships) that took us in an entirely different direction, showing how to map the turning points made by coincidences that have guided us throughout our lives. Best of all, WHEN GOD WINKS shows us how to create our own coincidences and turn wishes into winks. He explains his compelling theory of coincidences through a series of incredible stories and motivational writing on how coincidences play a role in all facets of our life, including career, love, history, medicine, entertainment, sports and politics with telling comments from Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Streisand, Mark Twain, Kevin Costner and other celebrities. WHEN GOD WINKS is a fascinating bridge to self-discovery.

  • Author : Michele Cushatt
  • Publisher : Zondervan

Download or read book Undone written by Michele Cushatt and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2015-03-10 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Become empowered to face your own messy, complicated life with fresh courage and bravery. Undone is author Michele Cushatt's quest to make peace with a complicated life. It is an honest confession of a diagnosis of cancer and the joys and disappointments of motherhood and marriage, ripe with regret over what is and, yet, still hopeful for what could be. With enough humor to ease the rawness of the story, Undone takes you on a roller-coaster two-year journey through the unexpectedness of life. A look back makes Michele long for a do-over, the chance to make fewer mistakes and leave less of a mess to clean up. A look forward makes Michele wonder if all her attempts to control life have robbed her of the vibrancy of it. And, in the middle of this internal chaos, she finds her once-pristine house filled with the sights and sounds of three small, uncontainable children who just want to be loved. In the end, Undone turns complication into a beautiful canvas, angst into joy, and the unknown into an adventure, revealing that sometimes life's most colorful and courageous stories are written right in the middle of the mess.

Book More than a Coincidence in Our Midst

Download or read book More than a Coincidence in Our Midst written by Susan Fiskum Hall and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-04-07 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: More Than a Coincidence in Our Midst is a collection of stories that, no matter what you believe, you will find some of them astounding, thought-provoking, inspiring, entertaining, and some of them comforting. Although a few of them are mine, most of them are from people I have known or met along the way. They are all true. I have communicated with each person individually. When I began collecting these stories, they just sprung up everywhere like the daylilies in the spring in Atlanta--with little effort. When people would tell me that they could hardly wait to read my book, I would respond that I felt the same way because I never knew what story would be told to me next. As you are about to read these stories, perhaps you will stop and ask yourself questions. Some people believe in the randomness of events, in coincidences, and others believe there are no such thing as coincidences. There are so many things I cannot explain or understand; however, there are a few things I absolutely know. I know that God has a plan for each of us, and He has given all of us free will. I see evidences of God's fingerprints all around us and like to think of them as God's divine assurances that we are not alone on our journey no matter what is happening. It is my prayer that no matter what you believe or wonder about, you can seek the truth and the truth will set you free. To seek the truth is quite simple--just ask to be shown. You don't have to believe in anything. Just say, "God, I don't even know if You exist, but if You do, please reveal Yourself to me." Finding the truth is just that simple. After all, just remember whether or not you believe in gravity or deny its existence, it does exist. I am stepping out in faith as I share the magic power of the words and experiences of myself and others as I fulfil my long-standing dream to share this collection with you. I have included one amazing event that occurred on my very last day before I retired from my thirteen-year banking career just two minutes before we closed the door. You may read about it in my introduction. I hope you will be as astounded as I was. My prayer is that all these stories may open your eyes to see your world in a different way! May each of you reading this book and everyone who contributed as well be blessed without measure!

Book Coincidence or God

    Book Details:
  • Author : Charlotte Huskey
  • Publisher : AuthorHouse
  • Release : 2023-01-25
  • ISBN : 1665578858
  • Pages : 154 pages

Download or read book Coincidence or God written by Charlotte Huskey and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2023-01-25 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Coincidence? Or God? You Decide is a collection of episodes the author’s family and friends experienced. These stories take place in Mexico as well as the United States. In each story, you will find a fascinating and sometimes life-threatening situation, such as a nine-passenger, six-door Excursion traveling sixty miles an hour on the icy Arkansas River Bridge railing in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Read what happened to the nine fathers in this vehicle. Decide for yourself if God or luck was with them. Then, there is the girl whose foot was mangled in a packing plant accident, or the family who was marvelously saved when the train bridge over the San Rafael River collapsed and the center portion of the train they had been in, fell into the river. In this book you will meet a man who gave his home to a poor family; and a little boy who lost his father’s best knife in a lake. His mother prayed, and moments later the boy’s brother caught a fish with the knife in its mouth. Did that just happen? You decide. In the days before cell phones, see what happened to a fifteen-year-old boy stranded at Love’s Truck Stop in Gallup, New Mexico, 700 miles from home. You will live through a tornado with the Hightower family in Neosho, Missouri, and shiver with Dofia Margarita sitting on her house top during a long night. You will bake with the Children’s Christmas Project and learn how much they earned for the Huruma Orphanage in Kenya, Africa, and shout when a man gives Charlotte $500 for a basket of homemade bread. While swimming on the Baja California coast, you will struggle with Tim against a strong undercurrent that was dragging him out into the Pacific Ocean. Will Tim see his family again? Were the persons in danger accidentally saved, or did the power and love of God assist them? The author wants you to decide. Both blessings and difficulties will swirl around us as we walk through life. Romans 8:28 says, “We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.” Psalms 139:17 How precious are thy thoughts toward unto me, O God! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand.”

Book Connecting with Coincidence

Download or read book Connecting with Coincidence written by Bernard Beitman and published by Health Communications, Inc.. This book was released on 2016-03-07 with total page 314 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We've all experienced or heard of surprising events and unexplainable coincidences—money that seems to come from nowhere, a spontaneous idea that turns into a life-changing solution, meeting our soulmate on a flight we weren't supposed to take, or families being reunited by "accident" after years of separation. Often these coincidences are explained as being controlled by a higher power or pure chance. But for the first time since Carl Jung's work, comes bold new research that explains scientifically how we can identify, understand, and perhaps even control the frequency of coincidences in our everyday lives. Bernard Beitman, a leading expert on Coincidence Studies, proposes a greater personal responsibility which depends partly upon newly discovered "grid cells" located in the brain, near the hippocampus. But neuroscience cannot complete the entire puzzle, and in this fascinating guide, Beitman provides the missing piece. From analyzing true stories of synchronicity from around the globe and throughout history, he shares key personality characteristics and situational factors that contribute to the occurrence of meaningful coincidences in our lives. Where other books on coincidences tend to be theoretical, inspirational, or story collections only, Beitman's book is the first to provide a scientific understanding and practical ways in which readers can use them in their own lives. He reveals: How to activate your observing self so you don't miss synchronistic moments How serendipity can offer insights into solving problems or making difficult decisions Why stress activates meaningful coincidences Which states of mind impede our ability to experience synchronicity How to interpret the meaning of a coincidence Why being attuned to coincidences is a learned skill—and how to hone your sensitivity.

Book excerpt: A New York Times Notable Book A Kirkus Reviews Best Book of 2012 A bold approach to understanding the American evangelical experience from an anthropological and psychological perspective by one of the country's most prominent anthropologists. Through a series of intimate, illuminating interviews with various members of the Vineyard, an evangelical church with hundreds of congregations across the country, Tanya Luhrmann leaps into the heart of evangelical faith. Combined with scientific research that studies the effect that intensely practiced prayer can have on the mind, When God Talks Back examines how normal, sensible people—from college students to accountants to housewives, all functioning perfectly well within our society—can attest to having the signs and wonders of the supernatural become as quotidian and as ordinary as laundry. Astute, sensitive, and extraordinarily measured in its approach to the interface between science and religion, Luhrmann's book is sure to generate as much conversation as it will praise.

Book Course Corrections to Faith and Identify the Real Gospel Authors

Download or read book Course Corrections to Faith and Identify the Real Gospel Authors written by John Zavicar and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-07-19 with total page 265 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The author believed he was a saved Christian and never doubted he was going to heaven. Recently, during a traumatic surgery that nearly killed him, God took him to hell to show him his true eternal destination. After surgery and during recovery, John started working with the Holy Spirit to understand why God sent him to visit hell. He realized it was because he hadn't wholeheartedly accepted the story of Jesus. Many of the Biblical Gospels never made sense to John and he couldn’t fully commit to Jesus. Read John’s story to find out how God worked in his life to identify the real authors of the Gospels and how this solidified his faith. Following this investigation, John committed 100% to Jesus. Apply the five-step process he describes to firm up your faith and eliminate your doubts in Jesus, just as he did.

Book Bridge Ahead

Download or read book Bridge Ahead written by Keith Dahlberg and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2008-10-16 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: No one can match the special bravery and sacrifice of soldiers in combat. Nevertheless, my fifteen years working as a doctor in Southeast Asia, where I helped pick up the pieces left by wars-the Shan conflict in Burma in the 1960s, the Cambodian genocide in 1979, and the excesses of the Myanmar military junta along the Thai-Burma border in the 1990s-may lend some authority to my views on war and peace, and to my thoughts about where American medicine is falling short. This story is not intended as an inspirational book or a political statement. Instead, I write to describe some of the events that shaped my life. In so doing, I encourage readers who see obstacles blocking the road to their own goals to look for the bridges that often appear at unexpected places, making goals reachable.
