Unless you plan to maintain success and the new ideas there will be NO change. Action and knowledge are NOT the same thing. You must Implement Normal Reality in place of the toxic lie. God sets the exclusive measurement of normal reality and success. We all fall under God's natural laws, which include the five rules of the harvest, the five basic human needs, and the five basic conflicts. You cannot replant yesterday's harvest. It is over. You can only plant today what you will grow and harvest tomorrow.

As fathers to children ranging in age from the very young to adults, contributors reflect on some of their joys and successes as fathers but also on their questions, concerns, mistakes, sorrows, and hopes--for themselves and for their children. They invite all parents to reflect on and learn from their own parenting experiences. This kind of reflection fosters wisdom, perspective, and, in solidarity with other parents, gratitude, confidence, and hope in the parenting life.

Book Faith Doubt and Courage in 15 Great People of Faith

Download or read book Faith Doubt and Courage in 15 Great People of Faith written by John R. Tyson and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2013-09-01 with total page 140 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How have Christians over the centuries demonstrated faith, worked through doubt, acted with courage? How can great people of faith inspire our Christian journey? Can we really be like they were? Dr. Tyson believes we can, and he offers fifteen short biographies of significant Christians from various periods of history to prove it. We see in their lives specific examples of faithful responses to God and how their examples of faith can be put into practice in concrete, real-life situations. Dr. Tyson looks at the faith of the following great people of Christian faith: Vibia Perpetua (ca. 181-203), Athanasius of Alexandria (ca. 296-373), Augustine of Hippo (ca. 354-430), Anselm of Canterbury (1033-1109), Francis (ca. 1181-1226) and Clare (ca. 1193-1254) of Assisi, Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274), Catherine of Siena (1347-1380), Julian of Norwich (ca. 1342-1423), Martin Luther (1483-1546), John Calvin (1509-1564), John (1703-1791) and Charles (1707-1788) Wesley, Karl Barth (1886-1968), Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906-1945), Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968), and Mother Teresa of Calcutta (1910-1997).

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As trusted pastor Dr. Charles Stanley comes to the later years of his life, he is ready to share his personal story—on a more intimate level than ever before. As he walks us through his ups and downs, he shares how the biblical principles he’s taught all his life affected the way he’s actually lived. In this new book from Dr. Charles Stanley, he looks his readers in the eye and says, This is how my faith has worked for me at the most challenging times of my life and how it has led me to the victories God had in store for me. As Dr. Stanley looks back over his long life of ministry, he is now ready to share how his personal faith choices directed his every step. He shares how God walked with him through his most difficult days as a pastor when he faced internal conflict in a church he’d led for years. He bravely shares painful family issues that brought him to his knees and taught him to look to God for answers when life wasn’t simple and trite answers didn’t work. Dr. Stanley reminds us that choosing to follow and obey God when life is hard can be both the toughest and best thing we’ll ever do. As Dr. Stanley reflects on the biblical teachings that have led him through his difficulties and joys, he always comes back to this principle: Do what God says is right and leave the consequences to Him—no matter what that means.

Book Fire of Mercy Heart of the Word

Download or read book Fire of Mercy Heart of the Word written by Erasmo Leiva-Merikakis and published by Ignatius Press. This book was released on 2011-11-04 with total page 756 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To the unstudied eye, Matthew's gospel can seem a terse narrative, almost a historical document and not the tremendously spiritual (and doctrinal) storehouse that it is. Erasmo Leiva here acts as our guide, showing Matthew's prose to be not terse so much as economical--astoundingly so given its depth. The lay reader can derive great profit from reading this. Each short meditation comments on a verse or two, pointing to some facet of the text not immediately apparent. Leiva's work is scholarly but eminently approachable by the non-technical reader. The tone is very much gustate et videte, quoniam suavis est Dominus [taste and see how good the Lord is]-as it is "friend, come up higher!". The goal of the book is to help the reader experience the heat of the divine heart/the light of the divine Word. Leiva points to Matthew's gospel as being deeply ecclesial because it is first Christological. He comments on the Greek text, demonstrating to the reader nuances in the text that defy translation into English without serious revision of the text. Leiva uses linguistic analysis to aid the non-Greek reader with the literal meaning of the text; numerous quotes from the Fathers and the liturgy of the church demonstrate the way the Tradition has lived and read the Word of God. His theological reflection vivifies doctrine by seeking its roots in the words and actions of Jesus.

Fathers have an incredibly important role. They represent God to younger generations, they model integrity in relationships, and they provide a foundation for wise decision-making and faith. Sometimes fathers might feel like they’ve got it all together, and sometimes their responsibilities can seem overly burdensome. Fathers need strengthening reminders of their calling every day. This 365-day devotional gives fresh encouragement to fathers. Time spent each day in God’s presence meditating on his powerful Word can empower them to be men of character, strength, and leadership. After all, God the Father has more than enough resources at his disposal for those who seek to represent him in all they do.

Book Living for Leadership

Download or read book Living for Leadership written by Frank C. Etsell and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2012-07 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: My parents, Pastors Wilson and Bessie Etsell, faced many obstacles during the early years of their ministry. They began their ministry in a small community in August 1934. One cold morning in October of that year, they found themselves sitting on a small trunk by the side of the road. They had no money and no place to live. Everything they owned was in that trunk. By faith, they overcame, and because of their dedication and determination, they developed many leadership qualities, which guided them throughout their lives. This is an account of their early years in ministry and some of the leadership qualities that contributed to almost fifty years of full-time ministry throughout Newfoundland. One of the greatest challenges that Mom and Dad ever faced came in 1950, when I was thirteen years of age, and medical doctors at the General Hospital in St. John's, Newfoundland, told them that there was no hope or cure for my condition and that I would only live for a few weeks.
