Download or read book Writing in the Margins written by Kenneth Jr. Rogers and published by Strategic Book Publishing. This book was released on 2009-01-01 with total page 194 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The lives of Jack Mueller and John Rubaker unknowingly intertwine through the juxtaposition of fiction and reality. Both write in journals as a type of therapy -- Jack needs to understand the unwanted changes in his life, and John grapples with his inadequacies and depression. The journal entries change from a healing mechanism to nothing short of miraculous. Suddenly, wishes written down come true. Words create reality. Words create life changes. In a twist reminiscent of Walter Mitty, the characters live in medieval times, the Elizabethan era, and in the 1920's. Extraordinary twists and turns take the reader on an unforgettable adventure of the mind. This intriguing tale questions what is reality, what is fake, and whether one is better than the other.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jeremiah Saddler and the Sword of Jardine By: D.T. Shetler Jeremiah always felt that his life was meant for something more. Not exactly better but more meaningful. Like he was meant to accomplish something. He didn’t know how right he was until one evening by chance, or so he thought, he ran into Alexandria, Lexi as she likes to be called. What Jeremiah didn’t know was that his parents had been protecting him from a war that has been waging since before he was born. A war between the humans of this world and the supernatural. A war that humanity is losing. A prophecy was written that in a time of great need a Protector will be chosen to battle back the evil. To bring balance between good and evil. Jeremiah is that Protector. Armed with the sword of Jardine—a sword made by magic specifically bred to kill anything supernatural—and three Guardians who train and teach him everything he needs to know to be a Protector, he must do battle with a vampire clan hell-bent on destroying humanity and ruling the world in chaos. However, not everything is as it seems and Jeremiah gets the impression that the Guardians are hiding something from him and he isn’t sure he can trust them. Jeremiah Saddler and the Sword of Jardine follows Jeremiah as his true worth, strength, and fears are revealed when he faces his destiny and learns who his friends are and who he can trust.

Download or read book Fostered Adult Children Together on the Bridge to Healing Will We Ever Get Over It written by Carol Lucas and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2013-07 with total page 541 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: FACT (Fostered Adult Children Together) is a support group for former foster children. It is based on Ten Stepping Stones and the Bridge to Healing. Will we ever get over it? That question is what this book is all about. The stories that the author and other former foster children shared in this book should help answer that question, for themselves and other former, current, and future foster children. Although there are only sixty-one stories in this book, there could be millions. These stories are dedicated as a voice to the unheard millions. The purpose of the foster care system is to provide a safe haven for children without one, helping them to cross the bridge from foster care to aging out, but sadly the bridge leads to nowhere. Many former foster children end up homeless, dumpster diving for food, on drugs, incarcerated, at worst in body bags, at best, living on the fringes of life. FACT is for former foster children who are tired of being angry, ashamed, and alone, and choose to walk a new path, sharing their experience, strength, and hope while building a bridge to healing. Carol's foster care experience led her to form FACT and write this book. She had an early education in the school of hard knocks and later graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn with very high honors. She resides in Michigan with her husband Larry. This book is also available as an e-book and other resources can be found at www.factsupportgroup.com.
