Book My 84 Year Trip Around the Sun

Download or read book My 84 Year Trip Around the Sun written by Gerald S. Walton and published by . This book was released on 2022-06-15 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I would not have been able to write this book if it were not for my daughter, Katherine E. Vecchio suggesting that I leave some sort of legacy to my family, particularly her sons, Josh and Chris. My wife Veronika was a great help in editing and assisting me to keep track of who was and who was not present with me at various times. Having been an editor, I know only a fool would think they could catch their own errors. Two other editors include Nancy OKief and Pat Gripp, who are English teachers. I am indebted to the people featured in the book, and a host of others whom I have left out, as there is a limit to the patience of readers. I have tried to be truthful, but memory is fallible and age is the mind's enemy. If you, dear reader, find parts tedious, skim or skip. It is not my intention to torture anyone, and I sincerely hope you enjoy the book.

Book Travel Writings

Download or read book Travel Writings written by Matsuo Basho and published by Hackett Publishing. This book was released on 2020-04-20 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "The travel writings of Matsuo Bashō are of enormous literary importance, and so it is a joy to see them collected in this compact volume, in translations of exemplary elegance, faithfulness, and accessibility. The annotations are especially valuable: they show a solid grasp of the author’s life, work, and times, and provide rich and detailed background information about allusions to Chinese and Japanese classics. Along with the high quality of the translations themselves, this thorough commentary makes the book a significant scholarly resource and will help readers appreciate the density and delicacy of Bashō’s writing. A very welcome addition to the English-language literature on one of the central poets of the Japanese tradition." —David B. Lurie, Columbia University

Book The Robin Hood Lies

Download or read book The Robin Hood Lies written by Frank Merlo and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-09-29 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Socialists take from the Rich and give to the Poor and the Elites become the Masters of our Universe. The Elites are usually very charismatic and successfully influence the masses by giving good speeches. They seduce our children into believing there is no God, that there is no right or wrong, and that everything is grey. In this political environment, our children do not question President Obamas ties to William Ayers of the terrorist group, the Weather Underground, whom he describes as a mentor; or his vote for Abortion-on-Demand, which was far to the Left of Hillary Clinton. Nor do they challenge the negative attacks on Michelle Bachman who raised 23 foster children and yet is described as a bad person. Together, we are on a path to godlessness if no one stops the Elites from demeaning Christian ministers as old-school, superstitious dinosaurs, who are merely relics from antiquity!
