Book Peak Power Control in Multicarrier Communications

Download or read book Peak Power Control in Multicarrier Communications written by Simon Litsyn and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2007-01-04 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Peak signal power is an important factor in the implementation of multicarrier (MC) modulation schemes, like OFDM, in wireless and wireline communication systems. This 2007 book describes tools necessary for analyzing and controlling the peak-to-average power ratio in MC systems, and how these techniques are applied in practical designs. The author starts with an overview of multicarrier signals and basic tools and algorithms, before discussing properties of MC signals in detail: discrete and continuous maxima; statistical distribution of peak power; codes with constant peak-to-average power ratio are all covered, concluding with methods to decrease peak power in MC systems. Current knowledge, problems, methods and definitions are summarized using rigorous mathematics, with an overview of the tools for the engineer. The book is aimed at graduate students and researchers in electrical engineering, computer science and applied mathematics, and practitioners in the telecommunications industry.

Book Peak Power Analysis of MC CDMA Employing Golay Complementary Sequences

Download or read book Peak Power Analysis of MC CDMA Employing Golay Complementary Sequences written by Lin Dong and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Multicarrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) combines both orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and code division multiple access (CDMA) techniques. It inherits the advantages of these two techniques. However, like the OFDM system, transmitted signal of MC-CDMA system suffers from the high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) as well. As a good solution to reduce the high peak-to-average pmver ratio (PAPR), Golay complementary sequences have been employed in multicarrier communication systems.

Book Filter Bank Transceivers for OFDM and DMT Systems

Download or read book Filter Bank Transceivers for OFDM and DMT Systems written by Yuan-Pei Lin and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2010-10-28 with total page 372 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Providing key background material together with advanced topics, this self-contained book is written in an easy-to-read style and is ideal for newcomers to multicarrier systems. Early chapters provide a review of basic digital communication, starting from the equivalent discrete time channel and including a detailed review of the MMSE receiver. Later chapters then provide extensive performance analysis of OFDM and DMT systems, with discussions of many practical issues such as implementation and power spectrum considerations. Throughout, theoretical analysis is presented alongside practical design considerations, whilst the filter bank transceiver representation of OFDM and DMT systems opens up possibilities for further optimization such as minimum bit error rate, minimum transmission power, and higher spectral efficiency. With plenty of insightful real-world examples and carefully designed end-of-chapter problems this is an ideal single-semester textbook for senior undergraduate and graduate students, as well as a self-study guide for researchers and professional engineers.

Book Wireless Communication Systems

Download or read book Wireless Communication Systems written by Ke-Lin Du and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2010-04-15 with total page 1020 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This practically-oriented, all-inclusive guide covers all the major enabling techniques for current and next-generation cellular communications and wireless networking systems. Technologies covered include CDMA, OFDM, UWB, turbo and LDPC coding, smart antennas, wireless ad hoc and sensor networks, MIMO, and cognitive radios, providing readers with everything they need to master wireless systems design in a single volume. Uniquely, a detailed introduction to the properties, design, and selection of RF subsystems and antennas is provided, giving readers a clear overview of the whole wireless system. It is also the first textbook to include a complete introduction to speech coders and video coders used in wireless systems. Richly illustrated with over 400 figures, and with a unique emphasis on practical and state-of-the-art techniques in system design, rather than on the mathematical foundations, this book is ideal for graduate students and researchers in wireless communications, as well as for wireless and telecom engineers.

Book OFDM and MC CDMA

Download or read book OFDM and MC CDMA written by Lajos Hanzo and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2007-01-11 with total page 430 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Wireless communications has witnessed a tremendous growth during the past decade and further spectacular enabling technology advances are expected in an effort to render ubiquitous wireless connectivity a reality. Currently, a technical in-depth book on this subject is unavailable, which has a similar detailed exposure of OFDM, MIMO-OFDM and MC-CDMA. A further attraction of the joint treatment of these topics is that it allows the reader to view their design trade-offs in a comparative context. Divided into three main parts: Part I provides a detailed exposure of OFDM designed for employment in various applications Part II is another design alternative applicable in the context of OFDM systems where the channel quality fluctuations observed are averaged out with the aid of frequency-domain spreading codes, which leads to the concept of MC-CDMA Part III discusses how to employ multiple antennas at the base station for the sake of supporting multiple users in the uplink By providing an all-encompassing self-contained treatment this volume will appeal to a wide readership, as it is both an easy-reading textbook and a high-level research monograph.
