This book was released on 2021-02-01 with total page 19 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the generalization of the fuzzy and similar sets based on Fuzzy sets, neutrosophic sets provide significant possibilities in the case of solving complex decision problems, often related to uncertainty and unreliability. Neutrosophic sets use three values named the truth degree, the indeterminacy degree and the falsity degree, which allow for a more accurate evaluation of alternatives in relation to complex evaluation criteria. As a result of their application in solving numerous different decision-making problems, several approaches to their ranking have been proposed. Therefore, this paper provides a comprehensive overview of the approaches to the ranking of single-valued neutrosophic numbers and a comparison of the results obtained by using them. Finally, numerical illustrations are given.

This book was released on with total page 15 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this paper, a new tangent similarity between single valued neutrosophic sets is given, which contain tangent similarity [23] as a special case. A best-worst multi-criteria decision making method based on the single valued neutrosophic sets is proposed. To achieve this goal, we design an algorithm to identify the best andworst criteria through computing the outdegrees and in-degrees of the collective single valued neutrosophic preference relation directed network, and then calculate the optimal weight vector of attributes. Moreover, a mathematical model corresponding to the definitions of consistent single valued neutrosophic preference relation is contracted. Finaly, the evaluation values of all alternatives are calculated by the proposed new tangent similarity.

This book was released on with total page 17 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this paper, a definition of quadripartitioned single valued bipolar neutrosophic set (QSVBNS) is introduced as a generalization of both quadripartitioned single valued neutrosophic sets (QSVNS) and bipolar neutrosophic sets (BNS). There is an inherent symmetry in the definition of QSVBNS. Some operations on them are defined and a set theoretic study is accomplished. Various similarity measures and distance measures are defined on QSVBNS. An algorithm relating to multi-criteria decision making problem is presented based on quadripartitioned bipolar weighted similarity measure. Finally, an example is shown to verify the flexibility of the given method and the advantage of considering QSVBNS in place of fuzzy sets and bipolar fuzzy sets.

This book was released on 2018-11-03 with total page 734 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers a comprehensive guide to the use of neutrosophic sets in multiple criteria decision making problems. It shows how neutrosophic sets, which have been developed as an extension of fuzzy and paraconsistent logic, can help in dealing with certain types of uncertainty that classical methods could not cope with. The chapters, written by well-known researchers, report on cutting-edge methodologies they have been developing and testing on a variety of engineering problems. The book is unique in its kind as it reports for the first time and in a comprehensive manner on the joint use of neutrosophic sets together with existing decision making methods to solve multi-criteria decision-making problems, as well as other engineering problems that are complex, hard to model and/or include incomplete and vague data. By providing new ideas, suggestions and directions for the solution of complex problems in engineering and decision making, it represents an excellent guide for researchers, lecturers and postgraduate students pursuing research on neutrosophic decision making, and more in general in the area of industrial and management engineering.

Download or read book Hausdorff Distance and Similarity Measures for Single Valued Neutrosophic Sets with Application in Multi Criteria Decision Making written by Mehboob Ali and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on 2022-01-01 with total page 17 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hausdorff distance is one of the important distance measures to study the degree of dissimilarity between two sets that had been used in various fields under fuzzy environments. Among those, the framework of single-valued neutrosophic sets (SVNSs) is the one that has more potential to explain uncertain, inconsistent and indeterminate information in a comprehensive way. And so, Hausdorff distance for SVNSs is important. Thus, we propose two novel schemes to calculate the Hausdorff distance and its corresponding similarity measures (SMs) for SVNSs. In doing so, we firstly develop the two forms of Hausdorff distance between SVNSs based on the definition of Hausdorff metric between two sets. We then use these new distance measures to construct several SMs for SVNSs. Some mathematical theorems regarding the proposed Hausdorff distances for SVNSs are also proven to strengthen its theoretical properties. In order to show the exact calculation behavior and distance measurement mechanism of our proposed methods in accordance with the decorum of Hausdorff metric, we utilize an intuitive numerical example that demonstrate the novelty and practicality of our proposed measures. Furthermore, we develop a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) method under single-valued neutrosophic environment using the proposed SMs based on our defined Hausdorff distance measures, called as a single-valued neutrosophic MCDM (SVN-MCDM) method. In this connection, we employ our proposed SMs to compute the degree of similarity of each option with the ideal choice to identify the best alternative as well as to perform an overall ranking of the alternatives under study. We then apply our proposed SVN-MCDM scheme to solve two real world problems of MCDM under single-valued neutrosophic environment to show its effectiveness and application.

Download or read book New Correlation Coefficients between Linguistic Neutrosophic Numbers and Their Group Decision Making Method written by Yanfei Zhu and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Since linguistic neutrosophic numbers (LNNs) are depicted independently by the truth, indeterminacy, and falsity linguistic variables in indeterminate and inconsistent linguistic environment, they are very fit for human thinking and expressing habits to judgments of complex objects in real life world. Then the correlation coefficient is a critical mathematical tool in pattern recognition and decision making science, but the related research was rarely involved in LNN setting. Hence, this work first proposes two new correlation coefficients of LNNs based on the correlation and information energy of LNNs as the complement/extension of our previous work, and then develops a multiple criteria group decision making (MCGDM) method based on the proposed correlation coefficients in LNN setting. Lastly, a decision making example is provided to illustrate the applicability of the developed method. By comparison with the MCGDM methods regarding the existing correlation coefficients based on the maximum and minimum operations of LNNs, the decision results indicate the effectiveness of the developed MCGDM approach. Hence, the proposed approach provides another new way for linguistic neutrosophic decision making problems.

Download or read book A Further Study on Multiperiod Health Diagnostics Methodology under a Single Valued Neutrosophic Set written by Jason Chih-sheng Chou and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 11 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Employing the concept and function of tangency with similarity measures and counterpart distances for reliable medical consultations has been extensively studied in the past decades and results in lots of isomorphic measures for application. We compared the majority of such isomorphic measures proposed by various researchers and classified them into (a) maximum norm and (b) one-norm categories. Moreover, we found that previous researchers used monotonic functions to transform an identity function and resulted in complicated expressions. In this study, we provide a theoretical foundation to explain the isomorphic nature of a newer measure proposed by the following research paper against its studied existing one in deriving the same pattern recognition results. Specifically, this study initially proposes two similarity measures using maximum norm, arithmetic mean, and aggregation operators and followed by a detailed discussion on their mathematical characteristics. Subsequently, a simplified version of such measures is presented for easy application. This study completely covers two previous methods to point out that the complex approaches used were unnecessary. The findings will help physicians, patients, and their family members to obtain a proper medical diagnosis during multiple examinations.

Download or read book Single Valued Neutrosophic DEMATEL for Segregating Types of Criteria A Case of Subcontractors Selection written by Lazim Abdullah and published by Infinite Study. This book was released on with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) has been used to solve numerous multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) problems, where real numbers are utilised in defining linguistic variables. Although the DEMATEL has shown its success in solving many decision-making problems, researchers have not fully understood how the DEMATEL works on nonreal-number linguistic variables. Recent discovery of single-valued neutrosophic sets (SVNSs) can offer a new method to solve decision-making problems, where three memberships of SVNSs are used to define experts’ linguistic judgment. This paper aims to propose a novel MCDM method, where SVNSs and the DEMATEL are fully utilised. Different from the DEMATEL, which directly utilises real numbers, this proposed method introduces SVNSs to better deal with truth, indeterminacy, and falsity in solving MCDM problem.
