Book Multifrequency Oscillations of Nonlinear Systems

Download or read book Multifrequency Oscillations of Nonlinear Systems written by Anatolii M. Samoilenko and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-04-11 with total page 321 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In contrast to other books devoted to the averaging method and the method of integral manifolds, in the present book we study oscillation systems with many varying frequencies. In the process of evolution, systems of this type can pass from one resonance state into another. This fact considerably complicates the investigation of nonlinear oscillations. In the present monograph, a new approach based on exact uniform estimates of oscillation integrals is proposed. On the basis of this approach, numerous completely new results on the justification of the averaging method and its applications are obtained and the integral manifolds of resonance oscillation systems are studied. This book is intended for a wide circle of research workers, experts, and engineers interested in oscillation processes, as well as for students and post-graduate students specialized in ordinary differential equations.

Book Frequency Domain Analysis and Design of Nonlinear Systems based on Volterra Series Expansion

Download or read book Frequency Domain Analysis and Design of Nonlinear Systems based on Volterra Series Expansion written by Xingjian Jing and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-02-17 with total page 339 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a systematic summary of some new advances in the area of nonlinear analysis and design in the frequency domain, focusing on the application oriented theory and methods based on the GFRF concept, which is mainly done by the author in the past 8 years. The main results are formulated uniformly with a parametric characteristic approach, which provides a convenient and novel insight into nonlinear influence on system output response in terms of characteristic parameters and thus facilitate nonlinear analysis and design in the frequency domain. The book starts with a brief introduction to the background of nonlinear analysis in the frequency domain, followed by recursive algorithms for computation of GFRFs for different parametric models, and nonlinear output frequency properties. Thereafter the parametric characteristic analysis method is introduced, which leads to the new understanding and formulation of the GFRFs, and nonlinear characteristic output spectrum (nCOS) and the nCOS based analysis and design method. Based on the parametric characteristic approach, nonlinear influence in the frequency domain can be investigated with a novel insight, i.e., alternating series, which is followed by some application results in vibration control. Magnitude bounds of frequency response functions of nonlinear systems can also be studied with a parametric characteristic approach, which result in novel parametric convergence criteria for any given parametric nonlinear model whose input-output relationship allows a convergent Volterra series expansion. This book targets those readers who are working in the areas related to nonlinear analysis and design, nonlinear signal processing, nonlinear system identification, nonlinear vibration control, and so on. It particularly serves as a good reference for those who are studying frequency domain methods for nonlinear systems.

Book Efficient Computation of Frequency Response of Multi degree of Freedom Non linear Vibrational System

Download or read book Efficient Computation of Frequency Response of Multi degree of Freedom Non linear Vibrational System written by Arjun Pradeep Kumar and published by . This book was released on 2017 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Frequency sweep problems occur in several applications of structural dynamics, acoustics and structural acoustics. In general, the evaluation of a frequency response function involves finding solution to a large-scale system of coupled equations defining a vast system. Hence finding solutions to frequency response functions for a large range of frequencies is computationally exhaustive. However, the established method of interpolation techniques can be implemented to reduce the cost of computation. So far, several techniques of interpolation techniques have been successfully implemented in systems involving large-scale coupled linear equations. This thesis proposes implementation of Pads interpolation technique in a large-scale nonlinear system. More specifically, this thesis focuses on the additional computational efforts required in finding solution to frequency sweep problems of large nonlinear systems when compared with large linear systems. The accuracy and computational efficiency of the mentioned approach are demonstrated with solutions to frequency sweep problems for a single and two degrees of freedom of nonlinear systems. Further this thesis has discussed methods to approach solution of frequency response problem of a multi-degree of freedom nonlinear system using finite element method.

Book The Mechanics of Nonlinear Systems with Internal Resonances

Download or read book The Mechanics of Nonlinear Systems with Internal Resonances written by Arkadiy I. Manevich and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2005 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the most important features of nonlinear systems with several degrees of freedom is the presence of internal resonances at certain relations between natural frequencies of different modes. This monograph is the first book devoted predominantly to internal resonances in different mechanical systems including those of practical importance. The main purpose is to consider the internal resonances from the general point of view and to elucidate their role in applied nonlinear dynamics by using an efficient approach based on introducing the complex representation of equations of motion (together with the multiple scale method). Considered here are autonomous and nonautonomous discrete two-degree-of-freedom systems, infinite chains of particles, and continuous systems, including circular rings and cylindrical shells. Specific attention is paid to the case of one-to-one internal resonance in systems with cubic nonlinearities. Steady-state and nonstationary regimes of motion, interaction of the internal and external resonances at forced oscillations, and bifurcations of steady-state modes and their stability are systematically studied.
