Book Interconnections for Computer Communications and Packet Networks

Download or read book Interconnections for Computer Communications and Packet Networks written by Roberto Rojas-Cessa and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2016-11-03 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book introduces different interconnection networks applied to different systems. Interconnection networks are used to communicate processing units in a multi-processor system, routers in communication networks, and servers in data centers. Queuing techniques are applied to interconnection networks to support a higher utilization of resources. There are different queuing strategies, and these determine not only the performance of the interconnection network, but also the set of requirements to make them work effectively and their cost. Routing algorithms are used to find routes to destinations and directions in what information travels. Additional properties, such as avoiding deadlocks and congestion, are sought. Effective routing algorithms need to be paired up with these networks. The book will introduce the most relevant interconnection networks, queuing strategies, and routing algorithm. It discusses their properties and how these leverage the performance of the whole interconnection system. In addition, the book covers additional topics for memory management and congestion avoidance, used to extract higher performance from the interconnection network.

Book Multi Core Embedded Systems

Download or read book Multi Core Embedded Systems written by Georgios Kornaros and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-10-08 with total page 421 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Details a real-world product that applies a cutting-edge multi-core architecture Increasingly demanding modern applications—such as those used in telecommunications networking and real-time processing of audio, video, and multimedia streams—require multiple processors to achieve computational performance at the rate of a few giga-operations per second. This necessity for speed and manageable power consumption makes it likely that the next generation of embedded processing systems will include hundreds of cores, while being increasingly programmable, blending processors and configurable hardware in a power-efficient manner. Multi-Core Embedded Systems presents a variety of perspectives that elucidate the technical challenges associated with such increased integration of homogeneous (processors) and heterogeneous multiple cores. It offers an analysis that industry engineers and professionals will need to understand the physical details of both software and hardware in embedded architectures, as well as their limitations and potential for future growth. Discusses the available programming models spread across different abstraction levels The book begins with an overview of the evolution of multiprocessor architectures for embedded applications and discusses techniques for autonomous power management of system-level parameters. It addresses the use of existing open-source (and free) tools originating from several application domains—such as traffic modeling, graph theory, parallel computing and network simulation. In addition, the authors cover other important topics associated with multi-core embedded systems, such as: Architectures and interconnects Embedded design methodologies Mapping of applications

Book Dynamic Load Distribution on Point to point Multicomputer Networks

Download or read book Dynamic Load Distribution on Point to point Multicomputer Networks written by Dirk C. Grunwald and published by . This book was released on 1991 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The strategies we examined use load or status information to select placement locations; this information is explicitly disseminated or is piggybacked on normal communication. We also found that extant point- to-point networks reduce the rate of information dissemination because transiting messages are ignored by intermediate nodes. From these studies, we have concluded that the relative performance of placement strategies depends on the structure of the task creation tree. For shallow process trees, desirable workload distribution strategies will place new processes globally, rather than locally, spreading processes rapidly."

Book Interconnection Networks

Download or read book Interconnection Networks written by J.-C. Bermond and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2016-06-06 with total page 590 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most of the articles in this book deal with static or point-to-pointInterconnection Networks. In particular, new constructions are proposed basedon different tools from discrete mathematics. Many new records have beenestablished in the table of the maximum number of vertices of graphs withmaximum degree &Dgr; and diameter D. Properties of thesenetworks (and of more classical ones) are analyzed in many of the otherpapers. About 40% of the articles deal with fault tolerance orvulnerability properties using either combinatorial tools or probabilisticones.

Book Simulation Systems

Download or read book Simulation Systems written by George Zobrist and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2000-04-17 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Simulation Systems expolres a wide spectrum of topics including simulation software, logic simulation, query-driven simulation, multi-computer simulation and manufacturing simulation. Although such papers are presented in Journals and conference proceedings it is difficult to find a single source where the foremost papers are presented. Contributions in Simulation Systms are freom leading researchers and practioners which explore a wide spectrum of topics. The chapters include topics such as presentation of SIMULA/OBJECTR, which is a query driven simulation support environment and a method of translating automatically digital logic equations so that they may be simulated using VHDL. This is followed by simulation techniques for deterministic and statistical circuit design optimization. A mathematical model of a magnetic resonance imaging system is simulated so that one can better understand the imaging system.

Book Algorithm Structured Computer Arrays and Networks

Download or read book Algorithm Structured Computer Arrays and Networks written by Leonard Uhr and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2014-05-10 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Computer Science and Applied Mathematics: Algorithm-Structured Computer Arrays and Networks: Architectures and Processes for Images, Percepts, Models, Information examines the parallel-array, pipeline, and other network multi-computers. This book describes and explores arrays and networks, those built, being designed, or proposed. The problems of developing higher-level languages for systems and designing algorithm, program, data flow, and computer structure are also discussed. This text likewise describes several sequences of successively more general attempts to combine the power of arrays with the flexibility of networks into structures that reflect and embody the flow of information through their processors. This publication is useful as a textbook or auxiliary textbook for students taking courses on computer architecture, parallel computers, arrays and networks, and image processing and pattern recognition.
