Book The Exemplary Role Model Muhammad

Download or read book The Exemplary Role Model Muhammad written by Recep Dogan and published by . This book was released on 2019-08-26 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The journey of humanity started in Paradise first and then continues on Earth. God created human beings in the best form and endowed them with the necessary capacity that enables them to be vicegerents of God. So, humankind is destined to act behalf on God; to provide justice and contribute to harmony among the creatures. Fulfilling this responsibility needed divine guidance and continuous support for humankind. God had sent many messengers to different nations in different time segments throughout history. We do not know all the prophets, but some of them are mentioned in the Qur'an. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the final Messenger of God, and the Qur'an is the final revelation to guide humanity to happiness in both this world and the next, by offering them the most suitable lifestyle. In this regard, it is pivotal to know the life of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), because it provides the proper understanding of the Qur'an. The last revelation was experienced, practiced, and taught by him, so it is not an exaggeration to say that God articulated His last message in the Prophet's life. Therefore, to understand the words of God better, it is essential to learn the life of the Prophet. The Prophet is the best role model for humankind and he represented the best human values in his nature. Discovering the different aspects of his life is indeed discovering the real value of humankind. This will also enlighten us as to why God chose humankind to be his vicegerent on Earth. He explained the meaning of this universe and introduced our Creator with His names and attributes. If we know God in His true sense, it is because of the Prophet Muhammad. Similarly, if we know how to be perfect man and represent the universal values, it is again through His exemplary life. All of humanity is in great debt to him, regarding learning the meaning of their life on Earth and achieving the happiness in both worlds. In this work, we tried to show his exemplary life, so that people can follow his way and find solutions for all kinds of problems. In this book, I discovered the different aspects, dimensions, and praiseworthy characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Through this, I came to the conclusion that it is beneficial to combine Sīrah with the philosophy behind it, so I have attempted to do so in this humble work.

Book The History of al abar Vol 8

Download or read book The History of al abar Vol 8 written by and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 2015-06-15 with total page 243 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume covers the history of the Muslim community and the biography of Muḥammad in the middle Medinan years. It begins with the unsuccessful last Meccan attack on Medina, known as the battle of the Trench. Events following this battle show the gradual collapse of Meccan resistance to Islam. The next year, when Muḥammad set out on pilgrimage to Mecca, the Meccans at first blocked the road, but eventually a ten-year truce was negotiated at al-Ḥudaybiyah, with Muḥammad agreeing to postpone his pilgrimage until the following year. The Treaty of al-Ḥudaybiyah was followed by a series of Muslim expeditions, climaxing in the important conquest of Khaybar. In the following year Muḥammad made the so-called Pilgrimage of Fulfillment unopposed. Al-Ṭabarī's account emphasizes Islam's expanding geographical horizon during this period. Soon after the Treaty of al-Hudaybiyah, Muḥammad is said to have sent letters to six foreign rulers inviting them to become Muslims. Another example of this expanding horizon was the unsuccessful expedition to Mu'tah in Jordan. Shortly afterward the Treaty of al-Ḥudaybiyah broke down, and Muḥammad marched on Mecca. The Meccans capitulated, and Muḥammad entered the city on his own terms. He treated the city leniently, and most of the Meccan oligarchy swore allegiance to him as Muslims. Two events in the personal life of Muḥammad during this period caused controversy in the community. Muḥammad fell in love with and married Zaynab bint. Jaḥsh, the divorced wife of his adopted son Zayd. Because of Muḥammad's scruples, the marriage took place only after a Qur'anic revelation permitting believers to marry the divorced wives of their adopted sons. In the Affair of the Lie, accusations against Muḥammad's young wife ʿĀʾishah were exploited by various factions in the community and in Muḥammad's household. In the end, a Qur'anic revelation proclaimed ʿĀʾishah's innocence and the culpability of the rumormongers. This volume of al-Ṭabarī's History records the collapse of Meccan resistance to Islam, the triumphant return of Muḥammad to his native city, the conversion to Islam of the Meccan oligarchy, and the community's successful weathering of a number of potentially embarrassing events in Muḥammad's private life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heretic and impostor or reformer and statesman? The contradictory Western visions of Muhammad In European culture, Muhammad has been vilified as a heretic, an impostor, and a pagan idol. But these aren’t the only images of the Prophet of Islam that emerge from Western history. Commentators have also portrayed Muhammad as a visionary reformer and an inspirational leader, statesman, and lawgiver. In Faces of Muhammad, John Tolan provides a comprehensive history of these changing, complex, and contradictory visions. Starting from the earliest calls to the faithful to join the Crusades against the “Saracens,” he traces the evolution of Western conceptions of Muhammad through the Reformation, the Enlightenment, and the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and up to the present day. Faces of Muhammad reveals a lengthy tradition of positive portrayals of Muhammad that many will find surprising. To Reformation polemicists, the spread of Islam attested to the corruption of the established Church, and prompted them to depict Muhammad as a champion of reform. In revolutionary England, writers on both sides of the conflict drew parallels between Muhammad and Oliver Cromwell, asking whether the prophet was a rebel against legitimate authority or the bringer of a new and just order. Voltaire first saw Muhammad as an archetypal religious fanatic but later claimed him as an enemy of superstition. To Napoleon, he was simply a role model: a brilliant general, orator, and leader. The book shows that Muhammad wears so many faces in the West because he has always acted as a mirror for its writers, their portrayals revealing more about their own concerns than the historical realities of the founder of Islam.

Book excerpt: Many books have been written about the life of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), However, In writing this book, the author (Sheikh Muhammad al-Ghazali) had a specific objective. He used the life of the Prophet (SAW) to go into depths that many historians had only touched upon from the various aspects of his (saw) life. This book goes into detail and provides reasons and explanations for whatever took place. It is a blend of modern analysis and ancient detail. Its objective is to nurture faith, purify characters and fan the struggle to embrace the truth and be faithful to it. Indeed, the life of the Prophet (SAW) has been documented as a message for practical implementation, not intellectual entertainment'. You may think that you have studied the life of Muhammad by following his history from birth to death but this is a grave mistake. You will never really understand the Seerah unless you study the noble Qur'an and the purified Sunnah. The amount that you derive from these will tell the strength of your connection with the prophet of Islam, sallallahu `alaihi wa sallam' Drawing upon his profound classical Islamic learning and an extensive knowledge of modern science, Sheikh al-Ghazali has broken new ground in the study of Seerah, bringing to bear a fresh but wholly authentic approach. This is a work which all serious students should have, to complement the Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
