Book Forest Hydrology and Watershed

Download or read book Forest Hydrology and Watershed written by Fan-Rui Meng and published by MDPI. This book was released on 2019-08-20 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hydrological processes in forested watersheds are influenced by environmental, physiological, and biometric factors such as precipitation, radiation, temperature, species type, leaf area, and extent and structure of forest ecosystems. Over the past two centuries, forest coverage and forest structures have been impacted globally by anthropogenic activities, for example, forest harvesting, and conversion of forested landscapes for plantations and urbanization. In addition, since the industrial revolution, climate change has resulted in profound impacts on forest ecosystems due to higher carbon dioxide (CO2) concentration or CO2 fertilization, warmer temperatures, changes in frequency and intensity of extreme weather events and natural disturbances. As a result, hydrological processes in forested watersheds have been altered by these natural and anthropogenic factors and these changes are expected to accelerate due to future changing climatic conditions. Hence, understanding how various environmental, physiological, and physical drivers interactively influence hydrological and biogeochemical processes in forest ecosystems is critical for sustainable water supply in forested watersheds. About 21% of the global population depends on water sources that originate in forested catchments where forest coverage larger than 30%. Furthermore, there are knowledge gaps in our understanding of the mechanism of hydrological and hydrochemical cycles in forested watersheds. This Special Issue addresses these gaps in our knowledge and includes twelve papers in the following three major research themes in forest watershed areas.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Broadway superstar Samantha Nilsson needs a break from the limelight. Well, in all honesty, the break away from the lights of New York was made at the request from her director. She “might” have lost a touch of her professionalism during a performance when she found out her co-star and fiancé had cheated on her…several times…with various actresses and even her agent. That love song at the end of her last performance raised a few eyebrows when she tried to shove him off the stage as she hit the high note. Getting away as far away as possible from the drama and gossip of showbiz led her down south, to the small town in Georgia where her mom grew up. No backstabbing agents. No slick-talking men. Nothing but honest work at the local diner and time to heal. But her peaceful refuge shatters when Trevor Johnson arrives in town. The man is tall, sexy, and she needs to keep ten feet away from him at all times. Because aside from his magnetic personality, he seems like a genuinely nice guy who would do anything to help his sister, Addie, with her upcoming wedding. Nice guy or not, he’s still an agent and, well, a man, and those two things she’s sworn off. Avoiding him is a success, until Addie asks Samantha for two massive favors. First- sing at her wedding. Second- pretend to be Trevor’s girlfriend. Sounds easy…right? Finding Her Leading Man is the sixth book in the A Southern Kind of Love series from Palmer Jones. A Southern Kind of Love Series: 1. Hiding from the Sheriff 2. Falling for Her Client 3. Dreaming of Her Movie Star 4. Engaging with Her Enemy 5. Kissing Her Rescuer 6. Finding Her Leading Man O’Keeley’s Irish Pub Series: 1. Her Irish Boss 2. Her Irish Chef 3. Her Irish Flirt

Book Dreaming of Her Movie Star

Download or read book Dreaming of Her Movie Star written by Palmer Jones and published by Sweet Blooms Publishing, LLC. This book was released on 2020-04-10 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I had one chance to interview the hottest movie star on the planet…and I almost blew it. By any serious journalists’ standards, I did. I showed up late (not my fault), my skirt covered in pink icing (again, not my fault), with the tags from my new shirt still hanging out the back (okay, that one was my fault). I was plenty memorable but not for the right reasons. Which makes me wonder why Grayson Moore just walked through the door of my small-town coffee shop, looking sexy as sin and searching for…me? I’m flattered, really, but having him in town, riding behind him on his motorcycle, breaking down and accepting one date, will mess up all my plans. Motorcycle-riding movie stars are not on the approved list of men for me to date, and I need my father in a good mood when I finally bring my estranged sister back home for Christmas. *formerly titled Please, Stay Dreaming of Her Movie Star is Book Three in the Southern Kind of Love series by Georgia native, Palmer Jones.
