Life is lived in the plains and valleys, with the rub and hubbub of other folks” (Michael Wittmer, Foreword). This book will take you to some of the most important mountain peaks in God’s Word, explain what happened there, and then give you life lessons you can learn from that mountain. God did not tell us these mountain top stories just to entertain us or to explain the experience on the mountain. He told us these stories so that we might learn from them. God’s Lessons from the Mountains will teach you how to engage as a deeper student of the Bible, and grow in your Christian walk.

Book excerpt: Move Mountains, Swim Rivers explores living in continual peace and harmony in today’s world of instantaneous information, while simultaneously learning to navigate a vast and divergent spectrum of opinions and worldviews. Timothy J. Antrim explores how shifting one’s focus from the cynicism and pessimism of humanity’s global voice can lead to a better life—one that allows you to see beauty in living. He describes the practices, theories, philosophy, discipline, and spirituality necessary to reach a state of persistent tranquility and purpose. Get answers to questions such as: • Can you look within yourself to find peace, power, and prosperity? • How can you overcome stress, anxiety, depression, worry, and other negative emotions? • What does it mean to have true power? • How can you find freedom, joy, and peace of mind? The attainment of peace comes by taming the ego, practicing humility, becoming content with what you have, calming the mind, and having the capability to remain focused on the big picture governing this short and special life.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Gods Messengers From the Mountains is the book that I have used to attempt to chart the course of Baptist work in Tennessee, North Georgia, and North Carolina. I have written some information about some of the men who have demonstrated deep dedication to their call from the eternal God to preach the Gospel. It is my hope and prayer that this book will indeed bring glory and honor to God as we remember these people who have demonstrated pungent conviction doing the work of the Kingdom.

Book Golden Nuggets from the Mountains

Download or read book Golden Nuggets from the Mountains written by Fred B. Lunsford and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2010-12-01 with total page 115 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The late 1920' and early 1930's was the time of the Great Depression. Little or no work was available so people could earn money for survival. All mountain families grew vegetables, kept a milk cow and raised some hogs. Those who owned their mountain farms lived well by working hard and managing well. They cut timber to sell and earn a little money necessary for clothing and other things they couldn't grow. It was widely known that gold had been found in the mountains. Men would put in endless hours panning for gold in the small mountain streams. Now and then, someone would find a gold nugget. Most of the time, it would be the size of a pea or maybe the size of a marble. Gold was a symbol of wealth. When someone found a nugget and word got around, everyone would be talking about Uncle Ben striking it rich. However, I never knew of anyone selling his gold for a pile of money. One day, I realized that gold nuggets were not only present in these mountains, but that there were golden nuggets in the experiences of my life in these mountains. It is with great joy that I share these stories with anyone who cares to read them. Fred Lunsford

Book Cry from the Mountains

Download or read book Cry from the Mountains written by Keith Decker and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2015-05-15 with total page 123 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Keith Decker knows from personal experience what it is to be abandoned, hungry, and with no place to lay his head. By the time he is a junior in high school he has spent more nights than he can count with friends and more days than he wants to remember wondering where his next meal will come from. Then, at age seventeen he hits rock bottom. After a devastating event, he asks himself, What if I fell into a black hole tonight? And then he answers his own question: Nobody would even miss me. Cry from the Mountains is the story of how God hears and answers Keiths cry and it is the story of how He continues to answer, even today. It is the story of how God takes an unlikely lad from Eastern Kentucky, gives him purpose and hope, and molds him into a minister who touches the lives of thousands of people in the heart of Appalachia who are living in similar circumstances to those in which Keith grew up. Cry from the Mountains not only chronicles Keiths personal journey but also the history of Cedaridge Ministries in Williamsburg, Ky., which he began twenty-three years ago to address the needs of impoverished people in the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.

Download or read book Glory in the Mountains written by Fred B. Lunsford and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2010-11-17 with total page 137 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Glory in the Mountains is not about me or any other earthly person or persons. Many people are mentioned in this book, but the book is about God and what He has done in and through my life and in the life of others. I could write volumes about the times I have failed, gone the wrong direction and made bad decisions. God always does the right thing in the right way at the right time. He never fails. In my journey, His voice has been like the sounds of many waters. At times, it's peaceful and serene, then furious and demanding. That voice has been a source of strength for me through the years. I hope this little book will help someone stop and listen to His voice.
