Book excerpt: Resumen: El objetivo de este estudio es determinar las motivaciones hacia la actividad física de los aprendices pertenecientes al plan 250.000 del Centro Agropecuario SENA, del Área Metropolitana Centro-Occidente, a fin de conocer sus preferencias en actividad física, identificar el orden de importancia de sus motivaciones y establecer la posible relación existente entre la motivación y otras variables que podrían influir en ella, tales como: género, edad, si practican actividad física regularmente o no, y los espacios deportivos utilizados por ellos. Para ello se indagó sobre el tipo de actividades realizadas por los aprendices y con que frecuencia, que tipo de escenarios son más asequibles y la finalidad que buscaban al realizar algún tipo de actividad física. La muestra está conformada por 203 aprendices con edades comprendidas entre los 16 y 60 años. La recolección de la información fue realizada por medio del cuestionario Escala de Medida de los Motivos para la Actividad Física - Revisada (Motives for Physical Activity Measure- Revised) de Frederick y Ryan, 1993, modificada por Ryan, Frederick, Lepes, Rubio, y Sheldon, (1997), y adaptada al contexto español, que finalmente fue adaptado y complementado para el contexto pereirano. Tras el análisis individual y correlacional de las diferentes variables puede concluirse que, la salud es el principal motivo manifestado por los aprendices para la práctica de actividad física, en un grupo en el que, al estar compuesto en su mayoría por mujeres tal vez se esperaría una mayor preocupación por la apariencia. "Las mujeres prefieren actividades de carácter individual, como el fitness, natación, carrera y otras actividades físicas, mientras los hombres prefieren deportes de conjunto que impliquen situaciones de competencia, como fútbol, baloncesto y atletismo"1. Book excerpt: El objetivo principal del presente estudio es conocer las motivaciones principales que inducen a los adolescentes andaluces a práctica actividad física. En base a las diferentes evidencias científicas constatadas se puede hipotetizar que: • Los varones destinan más tiempo a la práctica de actividad física que los escolares de sexo femenino. • El nivel de actividad física es superior entre los escolares mesomorfos, en relación a los ectomorfos y endomorfos. • En el periodo extraescolar (fin de semana) los adolescentes dedican más tiempo al ocio sedentario en comparación a los días laborables. • Los sujetos activos físicamente presentan una mejor salud que los sedentarios. • Los sujetos activos le otorgan más importancia al deporte como vehículo de mejora de sus habilidades físicas. • Los sujetos obesos valoran más la capacidad que tiene el deporte para obtener mejoras de salud, que los que tienen normopeso o sobrepeso. • A medida que los sujetos son más activos se incrementa la importancia atribuida al deporte como elemento contribuyente a la mejora de la apariencia física. La estructura del estudio diferencia varios capítulos repartidos en dos bloques: Primer bloque o marco teórico. Contiene el Capítulo I Actividad Física (correspondiente a la fundamentación teórica). Segundo bloque o trabajo de campo. Abarca el Capítulo II que aborda la metodología (diseño, objetivos, hipótesis, participantes o muestra, instrumentos, procedimiento, análisis estadístico y variables dependientes e independientes). El Capítulo III está dedicado a los resultados, el Capítulo IV comprende la discusión y el Capítulo V expone las principales conclusiones del estudio y Capítulo VI (referencias bibliográficas).
