Download or read book Turn Your Worry Around written by Joe Carter and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-08-15 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "God promises to take care of the needs that we have. We need to understand that when we worry, we are failing to trust in a dependable and a good God for our basic needs. What a bad witness to the world it is when Christian people worry. Sometimes we convince ourselves that we trust in the Lord with our whole heart, but when push comes to shove, we don't really trust Him. It is easy for us to say at times, 'I fully depend on God.' However, it becomes a little bit more difficult when times are slightly rough. It becomes a little more difficult when we do not know how we're going to pay our bills. So what do we do? We worry!" "Moses is a great example of how worry can gripe us even while we are standing in the very presence of God. It is so important for us as the children of God to keep our hearts and minds washed in the blood of the lamb and have the Word of God written on the tablets of our hearts so when God speaks we receive it with gladness and act on it with boldness!" "Truly seeing the world through God's eyes is another piece of the puzzle to turn our worry around. A big question that we all need to answer is do we really see the world around us through God's eyes or our own eyes?" "You see everything in life begins and ends with Jesus Christ. When we accept Jesus into our hearts, we then have the access to all the benefits that this relationship brings and one of those great gifts is his peace." Isaiah 53:5 says, "He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities and the Chastisement of our peace was on him and by his stripes we are healed."

Download or read book Crafting Gender written by Eli Bartra and published by Duke University Press. This book was released on 2003-10-01 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume initiates a gender-based framework for analyzing the folk art of Latin America and the Caribbean. Defined here broadly as the "art of the people" and as having a primarily decorative, rather than utilitarian, purpose, folk art is not solely the province of women, but folk art by women in Latin America has received little sustained attention. Crafting Gender begins to redress this gap in scholarship. From a feminist perspective, the contributors examine not only twentieth-century and contemporary art by women, but also its production, distribution, and consumption. Exploring the roles of women as artists and consumers in specific cultural contexts, they look at a range of artistic forms across Latin America, including Panamanian molas (blouses), Andean weavings, Mexican ceramics, and Mayan hipiles (dresses). Art historians, anthropologists, and sociologists from Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States discuss artwork from Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Suriname, and Puerto Rico, and many of their essays focus on indigenous artists. They highlight the complex webs of social relations from which folk art emerges. For instance, while several pieces describe the similar creative and technical processes of indigenous pottery-making communities of the Amazon and of mestiza potters in Mexico and Colombia, they also reveal the widely varying functions of the ceramics and meanings of the iconography. Integrating the social, historical, political, geographical, and economic factors that shape folk art in Latin America and the Caribbean, Crafting Gender sheds much-needed light on a rich body of art and the women who create it. Download or read book i Am The Church of the Great I Am written by Dr. Jim McClinton and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2021-06-24 with total page 774 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you believe that the essence of our Salvation is Spiritual Maturity? We are spiritually mature when we “grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 3:18, KJV). Do you know that wisdom and knowledge are related but not synonymous? Wisdom is “the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting” (The Gospel); Knowledge, is “information gained through experience, reasoning, or acquaintance.” No one (none of us) is born wise; we must acquire and can only acquire wisdom from God. The Bible urges us often to seek wisdom above all things; “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight” (Proverbs 4:7, ESV). Knowledge can exist without wisdom, but wisdom cannot exist with knowledge. One can be knowledgeable without being wise. Knowledge is when you know you should hear the word and the importance of it; Wisdom is hearing and knowing how and when to use it (Word) and how to live it. In order for us to obey Him and be in obedience, God wants us to have knowledge of Him and His commands, as of His word. Our knowledge begins when we fear God. If we lack or despise wisdom, we are foolish and not knowledgeable. Wisdom is a gift from God. Scriptures tell us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him” James 1:5 (ESV). Just knowing the Bible and facts about God is not all there is to wisdom. God blesses us with wisdom; for us to use the knowledge we have of Him, in order for us to glorify Him. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction” (Proverbs 1:7, KJV). In our Spiritual Maturity, let us fear God; and let us not be foolish but wise and knowable, pleasing God. This book, teaches us; giving one an understanding and affords us the opportunity to be blessed and favored with wisdom. It expresses and confirms who we are in Christ Jesus. ‘I Am’ ‘The Church’ Of The Great “I AM”. To God be the Glory!!!

Download or read book Gazing Into God s Open Heart written by C. S. C. Grabner and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2009-01-01 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is for all who hunger for intimacy with God. God in his love has opened his heart through the message and actions of Jesus, and Jesus has revealed God's loving plan to us. This gift of intimacy is meant to enrich us and to be the cause of our joy. Joy is Jesus' intention for all, for he says that he has spoken to us so that our joy may be full (John 15: 11). This book invites us to gaze into God's open heart, and prayerfully reflect on the joy that comes from welcoming all that Jesus has revealed. Not only the words of Jesus, but all the words of Scripture reveal what is in God's heart. We can find a multitude of ways to joy through the personal application of the message of the Bible to our lives. This book uses the term "101 ways to joy" to emphasize this idea. If we pay attention to our lives in the light of what Scripture tells us, we come to notice an overflowing sense of peaceful delight growing within ourselves. The 101 ways to joy are embedded in Jesus' life, words and actions, and in the words and actions of the Bible as a whole. Joy is God's gift to those who seek to understand these words and actions, and to live by them. Since many of us are very busy people, each of the book's 101 ways to joy can be read in just a few short minutes. This allows time for reflection that enables readers to make the ideas a part of their lives. The book is meant to light a warm, gentle fire in the hearts of all who read and reflect on it.
