This book was released on 1992 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CE TRAVAIL PREND PLACE DANS L'ETUDE DU CONTROLE ACTIF SYNCHRONE DE BRUITS D'ECOULEMENTS. NOUS PROPOSONS UNE MODELISATION DU COMPORTEMENT ACOUSTIQUE D'UNE SINGULARITE INSTATIONNAIRE PLACEE DANS UN ECOULEMENT MOYEN ET REPRESENTEE PAR SON COEFFICIENT DE PERTE DE CHARGE VARIABLE. LA PREMIERE APPROCHE CONSISTE A QUANTIFIER LA DIFFERENCE D'IMPEDANCE INTRODUITE PAR UNE SINGULARITE STATIQUE PLACEE DANS UN ECOULEMENT MOYEN AUQUEL EST SUPERPOSEE UNE ONDE ACOUSTIQUE A PARTIR DE L'APPLICATION DU THEOREME DES QUANTITES DE MOUVEMENT. LE MODELE INSTATIONNAIRE DEFINISSANT L'INTERACTION ENTRE L'ONDE ACOUSTIQUE ET LA SINGULARITE EST ETABLI EN APPLIQUANT LES EQUATIONS LOCALES DE LA MECANIQUE DES FLUIDES OU L'EFFET DE LA SINGULARITE EST INTRODUIT A PARTIR DE L'EXPRESSION LOCALE DE LA TRAINEE. ON MONTRE COMMENT UNE TELLE SINGULARITE PEUT ETRE UTILISEE POUR LE CONTROLE ACTIF DE PRESSION ACOUSTIQUE. LA SECONDE PARTIE DU MEMOIRE EST CONSACREE A L'ETUDE DES BOUCLES A VERROUILLAGE DE PHASES NUMERIQUES. ON MONTRE QU'IL EST POSSIBLE DE REMPLACER UN ORGANE EXTERNE UTILISE POUR LA SYNCHRONISATION DE SYSTEME DE CONTROLE ACTIF SYNCHRONE PAR UNE BOUCLE A VERROUILLAGE DE PHASE NUMERIQUE A DETECTION DE ZERO. UNE APPLICATION CONSISTE A L'INTEGRER A UN DISPOSITIF ANTI-PULSATOIRE POUR REDUIRE LE BRUIT RAYONNE A L'ECHAPPEMENT D'UN MOTEUR THERMIQUE A QUATRE CYLINDRES

Download or read book Une m thode originale de contr le actif des bruits d coulements puls s written by Laurent Hardouin and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: L'ENERGIE ACOUSTIQUE RAYONNEE PAR LES ECOULEMENTS PULSES EST PRINCIPALEMENT DUE AUX FLUCTUATIONS PERIODIQUES DU DEBIT. DANS LE CAS D'UN MOTEUR THERMIQUE QUI CONSTITUE LE GENERATEUR D'ECOULEMENTS PULSES LE PLUS REPANDU, CES FLUCTUATIONS SONT ENGENDREES PAR LES ECHAPPEMENTS SUCCESSIFS LIES AU MOUVEMENT DES PISTONS. LA REDUCTION DE CETTE NUISANCE NECESSITE DES SILENCIEUX PASSIFS DE TAILLE IMPORTANTE ET N'EST PAS REALISABLE A L'AIDE DES METHODES ACTIVES UTILISANT DES HAUT-PARLEURS. EN EFFET CES TRANSDUCTEURS SONT D'UNE PART PEU EFFICACES EN BASSES FREQUENCES ET D'AUTRE PART RELATIVEMENT FRAGILES (ILS NE RESISTENT PAS AUX TEMPERATURES ELEVEES). LE TRAVAIL PRESENTE ICI S'INSCRIT DANS LE CADRE DU DEVELOPPEMENT D'UN SYSTEME INNOVANT D'ATTENUATION ACTIVE DE CES NUISANCES ACOUSTIQUES. LE PRINCIPE REPOSE SUR LE CONTROLE INSTANTANE DES FLUCTUATIONS DE DEBITS A L'AIDE D'UNE VANNE MOBILE. LA MODELISATION ACOUSTIQUE DU SYSTEME ACTIF, QUI REPOSE SUR LES ANALOGIES ELECTRIQUES, FAIT APPARAITRE LA VANNE MOBILE COMME UN GENERATEUR EN SERIE AVEC LE GENERATEUR DE DEBITS PULSES. IL RESSORT EGALEMENT DE CETTE ETUDE UNE CERTAINE SIMILARITE CONCEPTUELLE DU DISPOSITIF AVEC LES SYSTEMES UTILISANT UN HAUT-PARLEUR. AFIN DE RENDRE CE SYSTEME CREDIBLE, UN PROTOTYPE TECHNIQUEMENT REALISTE EST DEVELOPPE. IL EST CONSTITUE D'UNE PART D'UN ACTIONNEUR SPECIFIQUEMENT ETUDIE POUR CE SYSTEME ET PROPOSE SOUS PLUSIEURS FORMES AFIN DE POUVOIR REPONDRE A UNE VASTE GAMME D'APPLICATIONS DU DISPOSITIF. LE PROTOTYPE COMPREND D'AUTRE PART UN ORGANE DE CONTROLE QUI A PERMIS DE DEVELOPPER UN CORRECTEUR ADAPTATIF. CE CONTROLE REPOSE SUR UNE COMMANDE INTITULEE MINIMUM DE VARIANCE GENERALISEE QUI EST IMPLANTEE SUR UN PROCESSEUR DE TRAITEMENT DE SIGNAL. QUELQUES-UNS DES MULTIPLES RESULTATS OBTENUS SONT FINALEMENT PRESENTES ET MONTRENT LES PERFORMANCES DU PROTOTYPE CONCERNANT D'UNE PART LES ATTENUATIONS DES FLUCTUATIONS PERIODIQUES DE DEBITS ET D'AUTRE PART LA POURSUITE DES VARIATIONS DES CARACTERISTIQUES DE LA SOURCE PRIMAIRE. LES INFORMATIONS ET LES INNOVATIONS TECHNOLOGIQUES APPORTEES PAR CE MEMOIRE PERMETTENT D'ENVISAGER A COURT TERME UN TRANSFERT DE TECHNOLOGIE VERS DES APPLICATIONS INDUSTRIELLES CONCRETES

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We live in turbulent times with continents and nations facing ever-heightening risks such as natural disasters, intense and protracted conflicts, terrorism, corporate crises, cyber threats to infrastructures and mega-events. We are witnessing the rise of mega-crises and a new class of adversity with many unknowns. The prospect of mega-crises presents professionals and students in the field of crisis management with four major tasks. First, they should engage in “deep thinking” about the causes of the increasing occurrence of mega-crises. Second, they should identify and work through the dominant trends which complicate contemporary crisis management. Third, they should upgrade institutional crisis management capacity. Fourth, they should improve societal resilience since no institutional complex can mitigate or manage these mega-crisis on its own. This book is divided into four primary parts, each of which looks at one facet of mega-crises. Part I focuses on the concept of a mega-crisis and mega-crisis management; Part II examines crisis management of mega-natural disasters; Part III evaluates crisis management of man-made mega-crises; and Part IV identifies mega-threats and vulnerabilities. Additional major topics include Hurricane Katrina; Hurricane Gustav; the London Bombings; the Mumbai Terrorist Attacks of July 7, 2005; corporate meltdowns; the subprime crisis; the Olympic Games; electricity grids; global climate change; the Dutch Delta; risks to food security; and mega-crises and the Internet. This comprehensive text will provide practitioners and academics with the results of an across-the-board research effort in the prospects, nature, characteristics, and the effects of mega-crises.

The full range of cosmogenic isotopes is covered and a wide spectrum of in-situ applications are described and illustrated with specific and generic examples of exposure dating, burial dating, erosion and uplift rates, and process model verification. Graduate students and experienced practitioners will find this book a vital source of information on the background concepts and practical applications in geomorphology, geography, soil-science, and geology.

Book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences

Download or read book Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences written by Wade H. Shafer and published by Springer. This book was released on 1976 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and dis· seminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) *at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the ac· tivity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all concerned if the printing and distribution of the volume were handled by an international publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 20 (thesis year 1975) a total of 10,374 theses titles from 28 Canadian and 239 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for theses titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work. The organization of Volume 20 is identical to that of past years. It consists of theses titles arranged by discipline and by university within each discipline.

Book The Art of Finding Springs 2nd Edition

Download or read book The Art of Finding Springs 2nd Edition written by Abbé Paramelle and published by Geological Society of America. This book was released on 2019-05-16 with total page 127 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abbé Paramelle (1790-1875) published The Art of Finding Springs in 1856 as a how-to manual for finding groundwater. Paramelle began his field research into springs on a karst plateau in southwestern France. Between 1833 and 1854, upon request, Paramelle explored 40 of France's departments and found groundwater in 10,000 places based on his observational method, which used geology and geomorphology, at a time when these sciences were in their infancy. Paramelle's method was used until the 1970s to find groundwater in the French Department of Lot. Although the book was translated into German and Spanish in the mid-1800s, this is the first English translation. The translator has included detailed notes and an introduction providing extensive historical background about this largely unknown hydrogeologist.

Book Digital Transformation in Financial Services

Download or read book Digital Transformation in Financial Services written by Claudio Scardovi and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-09-04 with total page 242 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book analyzes the set of forces driving the global financial system toward a period of radical transformation and explores the transformational challenges that lie ahead for global and regional or local banks and other financial intermediaries. It is explained how these challenges derive from the newly emerging post-crisis structure of the market and from shadow and digital players across all banking operations. Detailed attention is focused on the impacts of digitalization on the main functions of the financial system, and particularly the banking sector. The author elaborates how an alternative model of banking will enable banks to predict, understand, navigate, and change the external ecosystem in which they compete. The five critical components of this model are data and information mastering; effective use of applied analytics; interconnectivity and “junction playing”; development of new business solutions; and trust and credibility assurance. The analysis is supported by a number of informative case studies. The book will be of interest especially to top and middle managers and employees of banks and financial institutions but also to FinTech players and their advisers and others.

Book excerpt: This prayer book was written over a two-year span. The prayers started one night when my daughter and I could not sync our time to pray together on one particular night in March 2017. While preparing for bed, the Lord said to me, "Just write a prayer and put it on Facebook". I did and the rest is history. You are now holding what it is that the Lord has done with these prayers. Each night with the exception of being away from home with no phone service, or during times of fasting, I wrote a prayer each night and posted them on Facebook. I have been told by many people along the way that they do not know how to pray. It is my prayer that this book will be a foundation for those who feel that they do not know how to pray or who simply need a prayer devotional.

Download or read book Regimes of Historicity written by Franois Hartog and published by Columbia University Press. This book was released on 2015-01-13 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Franois Hartog explores crucial moments of change in societyÕs Òregimes of historicityÓ or its way of relating to the past, present, and future. Inspired by Arendt, Koselleck, and Ricoeur, Hartog analyzes a broad range of texts, positioning the The Odyssey as a work on the threshold of a historical consciousness and then contrasting it against an investigation of the anthropologist Marshall SahlinsÕs concept of Òheroic history.Ó He tracks changing perspectives on time in Ch‰teaubriandÕs Historical Essay and Travels in America, and sets them alongside other writings from the French Revolution. He revisits the insight of the French Annals School and situates Pierre NoraÕs Realms of Memory within a history of heritage and our contemporary presentism. Our presentist present is by no means uniform or clear-cut, and it is experienced very differently depending on oneÕs position in society. There are flows and acceleration, but also what the sociologist Robert Castel calls the Òstatus of casual workers,Ó whose present is languishing before their very eyes and who have no past except in a complicated way (especially in the case of immigrants, exiles, and migrants) and no real future (since the temporality of plans and projects is denied them). Presentism is therefore experienced as either emancipation or enclosure, in some cases with ever greater speed and mobility and in others by living from hand to mouth in a stagnating present. Hartog also accounts for the fact that the future is perceived as a threat and not a promise. We live in a time of catastrophe, one he feels we have brought upon ourselves.
