Born in Baltimore on November 25, 1899, Dr. Scherr entered the School of Dentistry after his graduation from the Baltimore City College. In 1934 he began his long association _wi-th the faculty'of his alma mater, holding the rank of Instructor of Pedodontia. During the past several years illness had forced him to reduce his teaching from a half time to a part-time schedule. At the time of his death he held the rank of Associate Professor bf ipedodontics. He was a member of Alpha Omega, Omicron Kappa Upsi lon, and Gorgas Odontological Society. Dr. Scherr was a highly capable clinician and had appeared on the programs of the Baltimore City Dental Society, the Maryland State Dental Association, the District of Columbia Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. As a teacher he was thorough and effective in his methods and enjoyed the enthusiastic iegard of the hundreds of students who came under his in struction. He contributed strength to the faculty during his period of service and was warmly respected by hisfc-olleagues. Dr. Scherr is survived by his wife Mrs. Anne Sandy Scherir; and his son Jack; two brothers: Alfred and Henry, of Baltimore; and five sisters: Mrs. Mickey Barnstein, of Baltimore, Mrs. Edwin Lazarus, of Baltimore.
