Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mindfulness is a skill that can benefit anyone, especially in today’s fast-paced and stressful world. Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment, with curiosity and kindness, without judgment. Mindfulness can help us cope with stress, anxiety, depression, and other challenges, as well as enhance our well-being, happiness, and creativity. Ayngaran Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to empower and uplift the lives of underprivileged children and youth in India. One of the ways that Ayngaran Foundation does this is by providing mindfulness education to its beneficiaries. Mindfulness education is the purposeful inclusion of mindfulness principles, theories, and practices into the curriculum and activities of the organization. The goals of mindfulness education for Ayngaran Foundation are to help the children and youth learn: Self-awareness: to recognize their thoughts, feelings, sensations, and impulses, and how they affect their behavior and choices. Empathy: to understand and respect the perspectives and emotions of others, and to cultivate compassion and kindness. Techniques to calm and focus the mind: to use breathing, meditation, yoga, and other exercises to regulate their emotions, attention, and energy. Mindful communication: to listen actively, speak respectfully, express themselves clearly, and resolve conflicts peacefully. Applying mindfulness skills to everyday life: to use mindfulness as a tool to cope with challenges, enhance learning, improve relationships, and pursue their goals. To teach mindfulness to the children and youth of Ayngaran Foundation, we use a variety of resources and activities that are suitable for their age group, background, and interests. Some of these include: A Mindful Moment: We start each session with a quick exercise that invites the participants to tune in to their breath, body, and senses, and to notice what is happening in the present moment. A Mindful Break: We encourage the participants to take short breaks throughout the day to practice mindfulness. For example, they can pause before eating a meal or snack and appreciate the food with all their senses. They can also use a mindful break to calm down when they feel angry or frustrated. Check-In: We regularly ask the participants how they are feeling and what they are thinking. We help them label their emotions and thoughts, and validate their experiences. We also teach them how to respond rather than react to their emotions and thoughts. Mindful Movement: We incorporate physical activities that promote mindfulness, such as yoga, tai chi, dance, or sports. We guide the participants to pay attention to their movements, sensations, breath, and coordination. We also emphasize the importance of having fun and enjoying the process. Mindful Art: We use creative activities that foster mindfulness, such as drawing, painting, collage, clay modeling, or music. We invite the participants to express themselves freely, without worrying about the outcome or judgment. We also encourage them to observe their creations with curiosity and appreciation. Mindful Stories: We share stories that illustrate mindfulness concepts and values, such as awareness, acceptance, Mindfulness is a practice of being aware of the present moment with curiosity, openness, and acceptance. It can help reduce stress, improve well-being, and enhance performance. Mindfulness can be practiced in many ways, such as mindful breathing, walking, eating, or listening. However, one of the most effective ways to cultivate mindfulness is through meditation. Meditation is a mental exercise that trains the mind to focus on a chosen object, such as the breath, a sound, a word, or a sensation. Meditation can help develop concentration, clarity, and calmness. It can also help us observe our thoughts and emotions without getting carried away by them. If you are interested in learning how to teach mindfulness meditation to others, this article will provide you with a simple and practical guide. You will learn the basic steps of mindfulness meditation and some tips on how to facilitate a mindfulness session for beginners.

This book was released on 2023-12-14 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Beyond Currency: The Value Of Human Connections is a book by spiritual Guru Sasi Krishnasamy that explores the importance of human relationships in a world that often measures success by money. The book challenges the conventional wisdom that money is the ultimate source of happiness and satisfaction, and instead argues that the true value of life lies in the quality and depth of our connections with others. The book draws on examples from Indian culture, where the concept of paisa vasool (value for money) is not only about getting the most out of what we pay for, but also about finding extra value in every interaction, whether it is with a friend, a stranger, or a vendor. The book also examines the role of money in society, and how it can be used as a medium of relationship, rather than a tool of exploitation. The book aims to inspire readers to reflect on what truly matters to them, and to seek a world where value extends beyond currencyIn a world that frequently equates success and importance with financial wealth, it's essential to reflect on what truly matters. While money is undoubtedly significant for our daily needs and desires, it is not the sole barometer of a fulfilling life. In this essay, we explore the second most important thing after money in the world, which many would argue is the richness of human connections.

Due to advances in technology, particularly in the field of brain monitoring devices such as fMRI scanners, the long reported benefits of meditation are now becoming measurable. A growing number of doctors and scientists recognise the beneficial physiological effects of meditation, especially in the areas of stress relief and relaxation.Meditation has received widespread coverage in the media. Sports people and health care professionals openly advocate meditation, and magazine editors and advertisers now portray meditation as a normal part of everyday life.Meditation is becoming accepted as a part of popular culture. Meditation was first introduced to the Western world in ancient Greek times, nearly 3,000 years ago, but this knowledge was to a large extent lost over time. It was re-introduced to the Western world at the beginning of the 20th century, and European intellectuals were exploring oriental mystical philosophy, which has its roots in meditation, long before that. But it took the revolution in thinking of the 60’s generation, and events like the Beatles taking up meditation, to create widespread public awareness of the practice. Now that same generation have entered middle age, and some of the values that they embraced during their youth have gained broad-based acceptance. Nowadays we have access to vast reservoirs of knowledge from many cultures. We can choose from the best that a wide variety of traditions have to offer. People have sometimes asked me why I chose a spiritual practice originating in a culture other than my own. Just because something originates in another country does not mean it is unsuitable for us. Computer science was first developed in America, but no one suggests that computers are not useful elsewhere. Meditation originated in India and has been practised for thousands of years in Asia, but

Download or read book Social Media as a Tool of Political Communication written by Francis Arackal Thummy and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2020-02-03 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Essay from the year 2015 in the subject Communications - Media and Politics, Politic Communications, grade: NA, , language: English, abstract: Since the US elections in 2008 the close connection between Social Media and political communication has been brought to the fore. The effective role that Social Media has been made to play once again in the 2012 US elections and its conscious or unconscious replication in the 2014 Indian elections reaffirmed its significance in contemporary political communication. Scholars have confirmed that political candidates are increasingly turning to Social Network Sites (SNS) to persuade voters and that these sites have become prominent sources of political information. Political Communication as a field of study has been about the role of communication in the political process. This paper would like to focus entirely on Social Media as a tool in the political process. Political communication has its beginnings during and between the World Wars. There are various types of political communication and political media. Among the political media the Social Media seems to be the most widely used in contemporary political process. The three main elements of political communication are: ideology, propaganda and persuasion. The deployment of Social Media in putting forth one’s or party’s ideology, propagating one’s or party’s agenda, and persuading the voter is widespread as never before. Many scholars including Walter Lippmann doubted the efficacy of media in public enlightenment that democracy requires. For, they thought that media cannot tell the truth objectively. Harold Lasswell too took note of the tendency of media propaganda to dupe and degrade the voters. His work expressed the fear of propaganda. This view was partly based on the direct effects theories of media. Similar fear about the Social Media is lurking in the minds of many today. To camouflage such fear political spin doctors might employ political Public Relations. Political spin doctors are press agents or publicists employed to promote favourable interpretations to journalists. They also weave reports of factual events into palatable stories. The case for political public relations is that it enables paternalism, pluralism, and pragmatism. But there is also a case against it in that it leads to news management and spin, corporatism in politics, and ‘enlightened self-interest’. The increasing availability of internet even in remote parts of the world has made Social Media a virtual public sphere enabling e-democracy.
