Book Saving the Millennial Generation

Download or read book Saving the Millennial Generation written by Dawson McAllister and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 1999-02-12 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Meaningful relationships, genuine connections, and real love: if those are the things this generation of teens-- the Millennial Generation--is crying out for, who can deliver? You can, says Dawson McAllister. Yes, you the parent, you the youth worker, you the teacher--anyone who wants to show teens the real love of Jesus Christ. But if you want to give Millennials what they're looking for, you've got to be willing to meet them on their own turf. And that's not always easy because the Millennial Generation is one of the most skeptical generations in history. You don't have to let them down. Saving the Millennial Generation will help you understand Millennials--what makes them tick and what ticks them off when it comes to school, church, and home. You'll have to earn their trust, but it'll be well worth the effort. Because in the end, you'll build relationships that will bring fruit both today and into all eternity-- for you and for the Millennials.

Book The Reformation of Millennial Christians

Download or read book The Reformation of Millennial Christians written by Glenn Beeler and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2019-12-13 with total page 73 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is designed to explore a way to transform the Millennial mind-set that will reestablish a strong religious foundation in Christ and move the Millennials back into the church. It will explore what a transformational program needs to contain to effectively reform the Millennials' mind-set and how this transformational program can affect the church. Research will be done to define the Millennial problem, the Millennial culture, the Millennial view of the church, and ways to create a dynamic, spiritual, and effective Millennial transformational curriculum program that will bring Millennials back into the church. The Millennials (the largest generation in modern American history) are the least religious of any generation. Most Millennials are unable to define their beliefs, which is compounded by the fact that 65 percent of Millennials do not regularly attend worship services. I find these two statements very unsettling and very disturbing for several reasons. First, the solvency and future of the church rests in the hands of the Millennials. Second, if Millennials can't define apologetically their beliefs, how will they withstand the frustrations and temptations of a secular world? Third, if 65 percent of Millennials don't regularly attend worship services, spiritual growth will be minimized or become nonexistent. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

Book Millennial Culture and Communication Pedagogies

Download or read book Millennial Culture and Communication Pedagogies written by Andrew Sutherland and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2018-11-15 with total page 287 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the ways in which faculty and staff at the higher education level teach and communicate with their millennial students and colleagues. The contributors address how millennials' academic and non-academic interests and everyday performances within and outside of higher education influence how faculty and staff communicate with them. This book delves into how millennials can become more adaptable in their communication with others in society especially in higher education, be it from different generations, or cultures that may or may not communicate the way they do. The contributors argue that millennial culture should be carefully studied by instructors, researchers, and administrators to create a better classroom and educational experience and also improve the level of communication among these constituencies.

Book Managing Human Resources for the Millennial Generation

Download or read book Managing Human Resources for the Millennial Generation written by William I. Sauser and published by IAP. This book was released on 2013-02-01 with total page 479 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this book is to explore the talents, work styles, attitudes, and issues that members of the Millennial generation are bringing with them as they enter the workforce. The Millennial generation is a roughly 20-year cohort of young people whose ‘leading edge’ members were born in 1982 and graduated high school in 2000. These are the young adults who began entering college, the military, and the workplace during the present decade, and who will continue to do so for perhaps another decade more. The Millennial generation has been exposed during their formative years to a unique variety of historical, cultural, economic, and technological changes that have shaped their particular attitudes and values, preferred social interaction styles, beliefs about what is proper in the workplace, and personal concerns and desires. Millennials are bringing their unique perspectives into their places of employment, where at times they clash with those of the older generations who are already established there.

Book Harry Potter and the Myth of Millennials

Download or read book Harry Potter and the Myth of Millennials written by Priscilla Hobbs and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2022-05-16 with total page 205 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The publication of the Harry Potter series in the United States coincided with the coming-of-age of its main target audience, the millennial generation. Harry Potter and the Myth of Millennials: Identity, Reception, and Politics takes an interdisciplinary view of Harry Potter, as a series and a phenomenon, to uncover how the appeal of Harry became a lifestyle, a moral compass, and a guiding light in an era fraught with turbulence and disharmony. As a new phenomenon at the time, Harry Potter provided comfort through the heroism of the main characters, showing that perseverance and “constant vigilance,” to quote one of the professors, could overcome the darkest of times. Hobbs argues that Harry Potter prepared an entire generation for the chaotic present marked by the 2016 Election and 2020 Pandemic by shaping the political attitudes of its readers, many of whom were developing their political identities alongside Harry. Her analysis focuses on both the novels themselves and the ways in which fans connected globally through the Internet to discuss the books, commiserate about the events swirling around them, and answer calls to action through Harry Potter-inspired activism. In short, Harry Potter and the Myth of Millennials examines how Harry Potter became a generation's defining mythology of love, unity, and transformation.

Book Rekindled

    Book Details:
  • Author : Mallory Smyth
  • Publisher : Ave Maria Press
  • Release : 2020-11-06
  • ISBN : 1646800109
  • Pages : 160 pages

Download or read book Rekindled written by Mallory Smyth and published by Ave Maria Press. This book was released on 2020-11-06 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Winner of a second-place award for popular presentation of the faith by the Catholic Media Association. Mallory Smyth has been where many young Catholics are today. But the difference between her and other fallen-away Catholics is that she figured out that when she overlooked the shortcomings of the Church as an institution, she fell in love with Jesus and rediscovered the beauty and truth of her faith. In Rekindled, Smyth’s raw, relatable account of her own disillusionment and departure is sure to resonate with anyone who has struggled to feel at home in the Church. For anyone who has left the faith or has one foot out the door, this powerful book just might illuminate a path back home—to a Church that is both holy and in need of perfection. Shallow homilies. Hypocritical authority figures. Trite answers to pressing questions. These and other shortcomings of the Church have led plenty of Catholics to question their faith—or to abandon it entirely. Rekindled is for those who have left the Church and those with one foot out the door. Smyth’s account of her own disillusionment and departure is relatable and honest. She understands and validates the pain and doubt that many Catholics and former Catholics feel. Smyth also provides you with practical guidance for keeping your faith even when what you encounter in the Church falls short: How to recognize Christ’s presence even in the most mediocre Mass experiences. Strategies for finding faithful role models when authority figures let you down. Where to turn when the answers and pastoral guidance you receive don’t reach the heart of the issue. How to find fulfillment in Christ and in the community of the saints even when joy seems to be in short supply in the Church.
