Book excerpt: The first installment of Massimo Mangialavori's Materia Medica Clinica presents fourteen remedies-some old, some new-in colorful and extensive detail. Here is Lac leoninum, the ambitious yet troubled king; Lac equinum, the loyal, principled squire; Lac humanum, the altruistic yet self-interested servant; and Lac delphinum, the warm-hearted humanitarian. Important questions are asked and answered: How do Milk remedies struggle to overcome dependence upon their family? Why are they so indecisive? What differences emerge between remedies made from the milk of wild vs. domesticated, and predator vs. prey animals? Mangialavori elucidates his Method of Complexity via natural history, personality, prominent themes and symptoms with an engaging style that is well-organized and easily accessible. Cured cases provide vivid, real-life portraits, and demonstrate how this materia medica derives directly from clinical material. A differential diagnosis, thematic and common ailment repertories, and repertory additions are also included. Just as milk is associated with the beginning of life, it is fitting that The Milk Remedies is the initial book for this evolving series.

Book Milk Diet as a Remedy for Chronic Disease Classic Reprint

Download or read book Milk Diet as a Remedy for Chronic Disease Classic Reprint written by Charles Sanford Porter and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-09-13 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Milk Diet as a Remedy, for Chronic Disease, published in 1911, is one of those publications that supported the "milk diet" movement that was quite popular in the early 1900s. This edition offers intriguing declarations about milk as a cure for problems related to blood production and circulation, as well as chronic diseases. Written by a legitimate physician, Charles Sanford Porter, M.D., this edition contains certain revelations that may fly in the face of modern medicine. Some of the statements made here may be contradictory to recent findings about human consumption of milk, thus the need to take everything with prudent judgment. Given that this volume was released more than a hundred years ago, it's understandable that there are information included which have yet to be verified and concluded in further studies and with more advanced technology. However, the author cites examples and cases of people who attribute their recovery from certain diseases to the practice of drinking milk exclusively. Aside from taking in generous quantities of milk, the Dr. Porter also prescribes rest and exercise. In the last parts of this edition, he provides a number of exercise routines that the reader can easily carry out. To this day, the milk diet prescribed in this book still has advocates and fans. This volume is definitely appropriate supplementary reading for dairy product lovers and those who are interested in the dietary fads of the past, but should not be used as a guide without the advice of a modern medical professional. This milk is the main constituent of a number of other products like cheese, butter, yogurt, cottage cheese, and buttermilk. This book is going to tell you all about how you can use these products to cure a number of ailments. In ancient times, a man’s prosperity was counted by the number of livestock he had in his farm, including goats, sheep, cows, horses, and other such domesticated animals. That is why in ancient books, the milk of a cow has been described in such glowing terms – The spinal cord of a cow has a nerve called Sunlight in it. Whenever the Sun God showers his rays on the body of a cow grazing in the fields, the rays are turned into gold when they touch the nerve called sunlight. That is the reason why the butter and the milk you get from a cow is golden in color. Talk about imagination! But this is the reason why when the Celtic and Gaulic tribes left Britain during the Roman conquest, the women walked in front of the cows and horses in order to protect them! That means if any one tried stealing the cows away, they would have to go through the warrior women first! Traditionally, milk was drank fresh without heating. It is only nowadays that we pasteurize it in order to get rid of all the germs. The yellowish color, supposed to be gold from the rays of the sun [!] is nothing but fat globules in the milk. The white color of the milk is due to casein. This is rich in nourishing and nutritional calcium. That is the reason why growing children are given a glass full of milk morning and evening, so that they have strong bones, good teeth and a healthy constituency. Traditionally, it is believed that the best time to drink milk is in the early morning. According to the ancients, the milk was digested as the sun went up, taking with it the benefit of the rays of the sun. That is why milk and milk products were never given to members of the family during the evening hours. There is a scientific reason behind this belief. It takes about three hours for milk to digest. That is why, if you are drinking milk at night in order to sleep more peacefully, do not go to sleep, as soon as you drink the milk.
