Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The wireless community is on the verge of the standardization of fourth generation (4G) systems. Research has generated a number of solutions for significant improvement of system performance. The development of enabling technologies such as adaptive coding and modulation, iterative (turbo) decoding algorithms and space-time coding, means that industry can now implement these solutions. Advanced Wireless Communications: 4G Technologies focuses on the system elements that provide adaptability and reconfigurability and discusses how these features can improve 4G system performance. There are several different systems comprising 4G, including adaptive WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access), ATDMA (Adaptive Time Division Multiple Access), Multicarrier (OFDMA) and Ultra Wide Band (UWB) receiver elements. This book provides a comparative study of these technologies and focuses on their future co-existence. Topics covered include: Space Time Coding, including discussions on diversity gain, the encoding and transmission sequence, the combining s cheme and ML decision rule for two-branch transmit diversity scheme with one and M receivers. Ultra Wide Band Radio, UWB multiple access in Gaussian channels, the UWB channel, UWB system with M-ary modulation, M-ary PPM UWB multiple access, coded UWB schemes, multi-user detection in UWB radio, UWB with space time processing and beam forming for UWB radio. Antenna array signal processing with focus on Space-Time receivers for CDMA communications, MUSIC and ESPRIT DOA estimation, joint array combining and MLSE receivers, joint combiner and channel response estimation and complexity reduction in the wide-band beam forming Channel modeling and measurement, adaptive MAC, adaptive routing and TCP layer are also addressed. This book will supply the reader with a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between the systems performance, its complexity/reliability and cost-effectiveness. It gives an insight into the impact of existing and new technologies on the receiver structure and provides an understanding of current approaches and evolving directions for personal and indoor communication.

Book Managing Trust in Cyberspace

Download or read book Managing Trust in Cyberspace written by Sabu M. Thampi and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2013-12-14 with total page 500 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In distributed, open systems like cyberspace, where the behavior of autonomous agents is uncertain and can affect other agents' welfare, trust management is used to allow agents to determine what to expect about the behavior of other agents. The role of trust management is to maximize trust between the parties and thereby provide a basis for cooperation to develop. Bringing together expertise from technology-oriented sciences, law, philosophy, and social sciences, Managing Trust in Cyberspace addresses fundamental issues underpinning computational trust models and covers trust management processes for dynamic open systems and applications in a tutorial style that aids in understanding. Topics include trust in autonomic and self-organized networks, cloud computing, embedded computing, multi-agent systems, digital rights management, security and quality issues in trusting e-government service delivery, and context-aware e-commerce applications. The book also presents a walk-through of online identity management and examines using trust and argumentation in recommender systems. It concludes with a comprehensive survey of anti-forensics for network security and a review of password security and protection. Researchers and practitioners in fields such as distributed computing, Internet technologies, networked systems, information systems, human computer interaction, human behavior modeling, and intelligent informatics especially benefit from a discussion of future trust management research directions including pervasive and ubiquitous computing, wireless ad-hoc and sensor networks, cloud computing, social networks, e-services, P2P networks, near-field communications (NFC), electronic knowledge management, and nano-communication networks.

Book Ad Hoc Networks

Download or read book Ad Hoc Networks written by Mounir Frikha and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-02-04 with total page 244 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work presents ad hoc networks and their characteristics. It explains a new protocol of routing with QoS as well as its implementation in a network simulator and compares it with the existing protocols. The book discusses the principle of the load balancing, treats the approaches of optimization of energy, and proposes a new approach with an analytical model that gives a better performance.

Book Data Communication Principles

Book Electronic Warfare Receivers and Receiving Systems

Download or read book Electronic Warfare Receivers and Receiving Systems written by Richard A. Poisel and published by Artech House. This book was released on 2015-06-01 with total page 833 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Receivers systems are considered the core of electronic warfare (EW) intercept systems. Without them, the fundamental purpose of such systems is null and void. This book considers the major elements that make up receiver systems and the receivers that go in them. This resource provides system design engineers with techniques for design and development of EW receivers for modern modulations (spread spectrum) in addition to receivers for older, common modulation formats. Each major module in these receivers is considered in detail. Design information is included as well as performance tradeoffs of various components. Major factors that influence the functioning of the modules are identified and discussed. Key performance parameters are identified as well, and approaches to achieving design goals are considered.
