Book Exposures of Biological Systems to Inorganic Fluoride Oxidizing Agents

Download or read book Exposures of Biological Systems to Inorganic Fluoride Oxidizing Agents written by D. J. Reed and published by . This book was released on 1965 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Methods are described for assaying the fluoride content of ashed samples of plant and animal tissues. Using the Hall method, submicrogram quantities of fluoride were measured and a new procedure was devised to measure fluoride in a 1 to 8 microgram range. Modification of the Weinstein procedure, in which an AutoAnalyzer is used, permitted rapid and semiautomated analysis of samples containing 2.5 to 100 micrograms of fluoride.

Book Fluoride Research 1985

Download or read book Fluoride Research 1985 written by H. Tsunoda and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1986-01-01 with total page 455 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some of the world's leading scientists in fluoride research have contributed to the 49 research and review papers in this book. While different methods for fluoride determination have been known for many years, information concerning the determination of submicrograms of fluoride is lacking. This volume contains articles that describe newly developed techniques used for fluoride determination and their application to the analysis of biological samples. In addition, facts about inorganic fluoride air pollution in several countries and its influence on vegetation, animals, and humans are described. Although the book is primarily directed to investigators in the area of fluoride research, it should be of value to public health officials, medical, dental, and veterinary scientists, ecologists, and environmental scientists.

Download or read book Pharmacology of Fluorides written by Frank A. Smith and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-27 with total page 467 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is the completion of work initially planned several years ago as a compilation of selected aspects of the biological effects of fluorides. The first portion appeared in Volume XXII (1966) of this Handbuch, under the title "Pharmacology of Fluorides, Part 1. " Inasmuch as the present volume is an integral part of the original project, justification for offering it to the scientific community remains the same as that originally set forth. This may be recapitulated as follows. The tremendous increase in the annual production of fluorides over the amounts produced thirty years ago, together with the increased diversity of their uses has correspondingly increased the hazard associated with these materials. That is to say, the possibilities of encountering their characteristic toxic effects under the conditions of their use has increased because the variety, amounts and ways of usage have increased. Their inherent toxicity, of course has not changed, but the increased hazard has led to a vast increase in the amount and scope of research reported. It is the purpose of these volumes to review selected aspects of this literature. Rochester, N. Y. , February 1970 FRANK A. SMITH Acknowledgements Even the casual reader of this volume will soon realize that contributing authors, as well as those contributing to its predecessor, Volume XX/I, have made good use of tables of data, figures and pertinent quotations from previously published work.

Book CRC Handbook of Ion Exchange Resins

Download or read book CRC Handbook of Ion Exchange Resins written by Johann Korkisch and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1988-12-31 with total page 720 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The six-volume CRC Handbook of Ion Exchange Resins reviews the application of ion exchange resins to inorganic analytical chemistry. Extracted from over 6,000 original publications, it presents the information in over 1,000 tables complemented by concise descriptions of analytical methods involving virtually all the elements of the periodic table. Also, the ion exchange characteristics of the elements, as well as other important information required by analysis using ion exchange resins, are presented in separate tables. The methods that allow the multi-element analysis of complex matrices are emphasized. This work includes a general discussion of the theoretical, instrumental, and other principles underlying the various applications of ion exchange resins in inorganic analytical chemistry with special attention focused on techniques based on ion chromatography.

Book Continuing Evaluation Of The Use Of Fluorides

Download or read book Continuing Evaluation Of The Use Of Fluorides written by Erling Johansen and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2019-03-04 with total page 259 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work addresses a variety of topics that are of interest in their own right and because they bear on the evaluation of the safety of fluoridation. The latter is important because the demonstration of "no effect" from the use of fluorides is very difficult and the available data need to be periodically reexamined to reduce the theoretical amount
